Went to Lou's grill for dinner. Parking in back is impossible. It is not regular size and it is next to impossible to get in and out of stalls. Food was disappointing.

Our daughter recommended this just off the road restaurant on the outskirts of Abbotsford. our other daughter joined us and we ordered beer and nachos. The one plate of nachos was huge and could have easily fed 4-5 people. I have had many nachos in...50 years and these were the best of anywhere. I would have given Lou's a rating of 5 but since the restaurant is so popular the noise level was fairly high making it difficult to carry on a conversation without using a loud voice. Service and food was great. Kudos.More
Disappointed in the food. For a restaurant that was rated highly on Tripadvisor the food was less than average. The music is too loud and the service was okay
We found this place and went there a few times while we were coming to Abby for other reasons. I have mixed feeling about Lou's for various reasons. Once we were there and had a wonderful server, who was friendly, helpful and took exceptional care...of us. The other two times, we had servers who were more concerned with their looks etc., definitely paying more attention to the tables with young guys who were flirting. Twice the music was so loud, we couldn't carry on a conversation. On the flip side, the food was excellent, and the outside patio was warm even on a cold day. I liked the dim sum, which was a nice surprise on the pub style menu.More
If you look good in a small tight black dress, you can work here as a waitress. I’m not talking like your Uncle Bob who showed up wearing one on Thanksgiving because he just had to be “honest with himself about who he was”. Nope....Not Uncle Bob style. And what restaurant would want to hire unattractive people on purpose? None. So it’s a strategy. Some places are known for that. Earls used to do it. Hooters made their entire reputation on it in an over the top kinda way - “Oh. Hooters! I get it now…”. But there comes a point where the way the young woman looks is so clearly the overriding hiring criteria that other normal qualities required of serving staff fall by the wayside. Like politeness. And competence. So it’s a double edged sword. And the biggest risk is that the pretty young woman simply doesn’t feel like she should be in this position. A server. She has gotten used to having men of all ages fall over themselves for her attention since she was a teenager. It must be a wonderful world to have all the doors open for you because of the way you look. It certainly got her the job. She expected to get the job. She’s pretty. Another win based on looks. And now she thinks - here I am hour after hour on my feet having to get someone else’s messy child another napkin, or picking up the dirty plates from a table of overweight businessmen from Cleveland. And you can tell. The attitude. She thinks she shouldn’t have to be doing this. Other people do. Sure, she got the job based on looks. She applied for the job. But the work? Should be done by someone else. Clearly. Because she’s too pretty for this. The rest of her life is so much better. Why this? And after an evening of bored, resentful and very average service, but with admittedly fairly tasty and well prepared food, she brings you the bill with her name and a little heart drawn on it expecting a large tip as a reward for finally flashing her pretty smile at you. And it’s still a wonderful world cause for huge groups of customers it works. Yes, I’m talking about you, middle aged men travelling on business who never get smiles from pretty young girls. Maybe they never did. And maybe it’s enough. For them. But it’s not enough for the rest of us. And it’s not enough for her either. And it shows.More
Went by and though we would stop in for lunch.Food was ok ,prices a bit high for what we got but the place was way too loud.We couldnt even carry on a conversation.Wasnt overly impressed and have passed it up on many other occasions and...went elsewhereMore
I ordered the beef dip and small potatoes I added the Swiss cheese to it. The sandwich was near perfection the flavour was so good. I will be back.
It has been many years since we’ve been to Lou’s Grill. After our last visit there I can understand why. Since the new covid restrictions imposed banning dining inside at restaurants Lou’s Grill is one of the few restaurants in our area with a heated...outdoor patio. They do not take reservations. When you arrive you give your name to the hostess and she will send you a text when your table is ready. They have both a smoking and non-smoking patio. I thought smoking was not allowed at restaurants anymore but Lou’s Grill does have a smoking patio. We were assigned a non-smoking table as requested on the upstairs patio after a 15 minute wait. There is a 2 hour time limit right now. The service was decent. It wasn’t great but the wait staff was kept pretty busy. We shared an order of chicken wings with sweet chili Thai sauce and they were very good. For entrees my husband had a ½ rack of spare ribs and I had a 6 oz. steak. Both of our entrees were tasteless and totally lacking in flavour. My steak was also very tough. It was very disappointing. We felt that for the quality of the food it was overpriced. I doubt that we would go back to Lou’s. We do enjoy dining out but until we’re able to dine inside at restaurants we’re probably better off to do takeout until the restrictions are lifted.More
Friday: arrived at 7:00pm and got seated at 7:30pm Ordered 3 - hamburgers and fries which take 5 minutes to make 1 hour and 10 minutes - 8:40pm our food showed up. Now too late for me to eat. Waitress and manager said owner wants...to favor Skip the Dishes customers over in person customers. Basically we waited until all orders for skip the dishes was done and then they made our order. Ruined our night. Won't go there ever again!More
I had a marvelous dinner here, but told the waitress of my allergy and it was ignored or forgotten, so I had a reaction to the food. I was very disappointed as I don't go out much because of the allergy. Just wanted to post...this to alert others if they have food allergies.More
December 17th Dinner Good news - we caught happy hour drink prices. Bad news the wine is 5 ounce serving! Even at happy hour price it was $1.00 an ounce!!! (Cactus Club is 6 ounces) Waitress was great! My wife's 6 0z NY Steak and...Prawns price $36.95 !!!! The steak was about a half inch thick maybe slightly more. The cook did a good job so it was pink but for $37 dollars???? My Lou's Classic Burger was pretty good. It would seem to me that lower prices would encourage more folks to come out during this challenging time.More
Amazing restaurant! The food is delicious and the service is great. Highly recommend checking this place out, their burgers are amazing!
Very nice building, gives you the feeling that you are going out. Service was a bit slow but friendly. We found the food to be greasy. Good beer selection, but very loud music.
Really surprised to see that Lou's did not take more care or concern of their patrons and staff members. To still allow smoking on their covered patio, which is outside of a door leading into the restaurant, not very smart. COVID is spread by respiratory...droplets...figure it out Lou's, ban the smoking until further notice. Care about your staff a little bit more will ya!More
I dined here tonight. Not only did the waitress fail to inform me that one slice of jalapeño in margarita would be an extra charge but 2 dollars per slice. What a rip of. Not impressed. This reflected in the tip for the waitress the...bartender and the kitchen staff. Very unhappy. And no refund or or anything. Pathetic.More
