LE CHOCOLATIER, Canmore

I went in here half expecting it to be expensive and the service a little superior. How wrong I was. The staff were super friendly and accessible, discussing the different flavours (eg the orange flavour from liqueur). Pricing was comparable to the shops in Banff...but the flavours were far more interesting (eg spiced pumpkin truffle for thanksgiving) and they also had lots of cheaper, fun items like moose, beaver and Halloween items for example. They sell bars of chocolate which can be bought in other locations but the truffles and other items are only available at the source due to transport difficulties. If you are in Canmore and a chocolate lover, it’s a do not miss, but note they're closed Sunday & Monday.More

Yummy!! Stop in here if you like Chocolate!

On our first visit they were closed for inventory. We did go back again and enjoyed watching them work with chocolate to make some of there goodies. Yes purchased some to take with us and really enjoyed them. Stop in if you love chocolate!

Choco-Rific!

We had what was supposed to be a half hour "tour" with John the owner of the place, but it turned into a 45 minute lesson on the history of chocolate which included tasting a variety of types of chocolate (including a "ruby" chocolate!) which...was incredibly informative and supremely delicious. Nice to meet someone who is passionate about what they do for a living and whose excitement is infectious. Only one small suggestion for the folks at the Chocalatier - maybe provide cups of water for people to cleanse their palates between chocolate tasting. But this is a minor quibble. If you like chocolate, you should book a tour, and if you love chocolate, than you MUST book a tour. Or at the very least, visit the store and buy, buy, buy some of the best chocolate you will ever eat.More

Amazing Tour!

My wife and I were privileged to take a tour here, and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff is great, and the chocolate is to die for!

this chocolate is delicious , made with passion . we where with our group and watched how its created . every kind is a masterpiece . great taest makes super gift . only the swiss chocolate is better

Nice little visit

We made a brief visit here. We could see some of the chocolate making going on. Sample was good. We did not make it back for souvenirs.

Good citizens producing a great product

Le Chocolatier's excellent chocolate bars can be found all over Canmore (although they are least expensive at the Canmore Museum). Their other chocolate products are available at their shop on Benchlands Trail. Its owners are not only skilled workers with chocolate; they are active members...of the community. This is a must-visit Canmore institution.More

Fabulous girls night out

We booked a chocolate making/tasting evening for our girls trip. It started at 5 and was approximately 2+ hours. We did some pre planning and brought a few snacks and beverages with us. John (I believe is the owner) welcomes us with his quirky Englishman...on point humour. Talk about reading a group. It was a laugh filled adventure that ended with copious amounts of chocolates, beautifully wrapped to take home. Except home was thru the shop and we all bought more chocolate, of the all the varieties and many more we had sampled. Was a must do event!!! Thanks John, love your Edmonton Sheilas!!More

Best Chocolate in The Valley!

Consistently Great custom and hand-made chocolates! Lots of variety and unique chocolate creations here, you really can’t go wrong with any of them. They make great gift baskets (all made out of chocolate-and filled with chocolates!). This place is off the beaten path but worth...a trip up the hill.More

Oh ya!

What a wonderful place to get gifts and chocolate for the trail or snack. The staff is very nice, has samples and lots of choices for milk and dark chocolate.
