Consistently voted one of the most Romantic Restaurants in the Canadian Rockies, we are tucked off Main Street Canmore in a charming character house that was once a Miners home. Tapas offers a lively fusion of Spanish and Mediterranean flavours created by our kitchen team with mostly organic and locally sourced ingredients. We have designed a menu of speciality dishes that are prepared to order from the freshest farm to table ingredients available. All stocks, sauces and desserts are made by our Chef Tracy Little in house. Our menu offers gluten free and vegetarian options. Share several plates among friends in the intimate dining room. We also have an eclectic attic with slanted ceilings and

Tapas offers a good variety of small plate items. Creatively prepared. Summertime dining on the deck outdoors is great. Wintertime dining is cosy indoors. Good wine list. Very good night out!

This restaurant remains one of the best in Canmore. We started with the oysters with garnish, the tostadas (artichoke and goat cheese as well as the beef tartare), followed by the Plato mixto, a medley of cheese and cured meats, with excellent nuts, olives, a...great mustard and a jam. The issue was that there was a mixup with the tostadas where we got the shrimp instead of the beef. Dish was removed and we got it back once the Plato mixto was almost finished. The waitress said that the kitchen did not want to overwhelm us. Would have preferred an appetizer followed by a main course and not the opposite. We ordered a bottle of wine and I did the sip test and then the waitress kept on filling my glass instead of my guest's glass. She indicated it was her first day. My wife opted for the tarte Tatin which was very good. Overall excellent food, but service could have been better.More

Paul: I am sorry that you did not like the service. I just wanted to take a moment to clarify with you as well, Tapas style dining is not intended to have “appetizers” and “main courses”, it is sharing food that traditionally starts cold and...More

Amazing night of variety of flavours and textures. Experiencing new courses such as beef tartar and embracing famliar and new flavours. The Chefs tasting was the best way to experience this and i recommend this to anyone that is willing to embrace something new. Service...was superb and we felt comfortable in our setting. Covid standards were respected and even enjoyed the privacy of the screens which created a quieter atmospher. Every dollar spent was worth it. We will definately go againMore

Aside from giving our table to someone with the same first name - teachable moment for front-of-house staff - it was at worst an interesting experience and at best sublime. Somewhat inexperienced with Tapas, we decided to hit the Chef's Tasting Menu, and were extremely...pleased. 7 simple, sharable dishes, each outside the expected Hispanic tapas fare, offering a local, utterly Albertan scent, taste, and feel. The meal opened with 2 types of bread, olives, and smoked birch butter (plate 1) and a beef tartare with sourdough bread and smoked Beet jam (plate 2), I'll add this offering served the least delicious thing we ate all night, which was a very delicious Foccacia. When some "very delicious" bread is the "least delicious" thing you have for dinner, it's a win. Plate 3 was a cold flame-seared local salmon in chive oil and cream, simple and perfect. Plate 4 was the best of the night: Zucchini, mushrooms, apples, truffle aoli, sumac, and small sprouts. Utterly brilliant. This was joined by 2 small battles of house-made kombucha, slightly cinnamoned and mixed with sparkling water to simplify the flavors. Very nice patale cleanser. Plate 5 was a simple and delicious Gnocchi, forgot what cheese topped it, but it was lovely. Plate 6 was the main: rare roasted venison rib with a BBQ sauce and a smoked date sauce, served on a plate garnished with a a smoking birch sprig. Outsdoor scents, deliciously prepared meat, and sauces that didn't overpower the flavors. Perfect. Finished with a dark chocolate mousse with wihite chocolate crumble and strawberry jam. Everything was described as locally, ethically sourced, and the entire affair was personable, friendly, well-paced, and lovely. I didn't leave hungry or over-stuffed, and the cost was worthwhile for the experience. Very highly recommended.More

We were in town for a mini stay-cation which happened to fall on our anniversary. Instead of the usual Keg or Moxies we decided to go with a more local feel. Tapas seemed to fit the bill just from reading the menu online. They seemed...to be very COVID 19 friendly and the menu looked very intriguing. I’m not usually one to stray out of my comfort zone but I had a good feeling about this. In fact, we felt so confident that we picked the Chefs Tasting without knowing what was to be served. We soon found out that it was seven servings of amazing variety and incredible flavours. The service was great and everything was too our satisfaction the entire evening. As we had mentioned in our booking that it was our anniversary we were greeted with a verbal congratulations and presented a card signed by all the staff. A very nice sentiment that was very unexpected but greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend Tapas Restaurant to anyone.More

Hi we are small intimate space so very young toddlers can be tricky (speaking as a parent). Young children are just fine as long as they can find items on our menu that they will like. We do not have a children's menu.
