Casual spot with indoor and outdoor tables. Terrific views of the mountains if you chose to sit outside. Typical pub food with large selection of beer. Interesting burgers are served on black buns. Tasty fries.

While the food at The Wood isn't as good as some of the other gastro-pubs in Canmore, the thoughtful service and large selection of excellent beers makes up for this. The garlic fries and sweet potato fries are also addictive. I always like the burgers...here and the Korean fried chicken sandwich. The poke and avocado starter is also delicious. The portions are large, making this an excellent place to go after a day of skiing and hiking.More

Basically feel assaulted by the top layer of spicy ground-up peppers on the top layer of the cowboy caviar. I get a chip full of only the pepper...pretty much the same colour as the guacamole. I was almost laying on the floor the pain was...so intense. The waiter apologized but still never came around, still never bothered to refill my water until I begged another waitress for water. Didn't offer to take it off the bill although it remained uneaten. BUT...did ask us if we wanted a container to box it up and take it home.More

I was hoping for more than a casual lunch experience. The outdoor setting was nice and the waiting staff were helpful. I ordered the grilled salmon and it was average. Good grilled salmon should be medium rare, my salmon was definitely well done. It was...tasty and I ate it but walked away disappointed. The salmon costed $34 and for that price, it wasn't worth it.More

Having seen lots of recommendations to visit this place we booked it for NYE. Unfortunately we did not receive the top quality dining experience that we’d been promised. Upon arrival we were seated and staff were very attentive. We weren’t aware that they were only...offering a set menu for the evening but this wasn’t a problem for us. First 2 dishes arrived quite swiftly and were totally yummy!!! However, here lies the problem- we waited over an hour for our main course, in the end we decided to call it a day and left before we had our mains as they took so long to come. The staff were very understanding and apologetic but when urine paying good money we expect a better service. Unfortunately our NY was slightly dampened.More

The restaurant seemed to be operating with a server or two down. No fault by the employees, and our server Phillip was incredible with the noticeable pressure from lunch patrons. He was juggling multiple tables and assisting staff all with impressive speed. We explained our...time restraints as we had plans for dog sledding. He grabbed our orders quickly along with suggestions to my apprehensive parents and made sure we were not waiting for the bill at the end. Absolutely the best server I've had in a long time. Give this man a raise or promotion if it's not already in the works.More

Fabulous food, wonderful views. Food was fast, good variety. Very nice views of the three sisters. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful dinner and beverages here. Excellent service and average $$$. Only negative would be that the women’s bathroom on far side of the bar down a bunch of stairs and in the basement. Could use some up dates and a good cleaning. Otherwise...excellent time here.More
