Stopped in for some mid-day cocktails and nosh and was pleasantly impressed. Both of our cocktails were delicious, my soup was very tasty and flavourful, her wagyu burger was served gluten-free on a bun and she seemed very satisfied. then we discovered the vinyl selection at the front and picked out david bowie's "hunky dory" - raising our moods to even higher heights.

We’ve been coming here for years. Tastiest food in the valley, accommodating patio with heaters and attentive and kind staff. They have a small menu (which is always a good sign). A variety of dishes from warm salads, burgers, and seafood. Seasonal and local ingredients are used and all sauces and condiments are super tasty, clearly made from scratch. It’s a small joint, but it’s most definitely the place to go for a romantic date or one on one with a friend. To top it all off, it’s the only place which doesn’t play Top 40! The records they play are often jazz and soul which really adds to the atmosphere and makes it feel like a cocktail bar, not a mountain tourist trap.
The Old Fashioned is a must if you come here!

We've had 1 dinner and 1 brunch here. Both were spectacular.
All ingredients are fresh and very well prepared with their own twist on everything.
Excellent and unique cocktails as well.
Always busy and now we see why.
Cool, rustic interior as well.
Staff are top notch.
Our favorite restaurant in Canmore now.

We had read the reviews on this restaurant and decided to give it a try, ordered Chicken Yakitori, it was by far the worst meal I have had , it took an hour to get our food while tables around us got served, ate and left. The chicken was undercooked and over priced, it didn’t taste like any yakitori I have ever had before. Complaint was ignored food was not eaten!

The place is packed when we went there since it was just a small place. The beer served was not cold and doesn't taste good. They don't have blended cocktails. The food also didn't taste good. Their grilled wagyu beef burger is not good and doesn't taste like wagyu. We also tried the braised alberta pork belly which is too fatty and too oily. The restaurant is overrated. We won't be going back to this place. Their bathroom is so low, looks like its good for kids.

We stopped here on Friday, the venue is very small, the menu was small and the prices are big! You can expect to leave here still hungry which is exactly what happened with us. The menu is actually all appetizers except the burger and the portions are tiny. The food however did taste good but $78 for one appy a burger and two drinks is a little much and typically we have no problem paying for good food. We will not be visiting this spot again.

To be honest we really wanted to eat next door. After being told we’d wait 40 minutes for a table for 2 when they had lots of empty tables, we came to Where the Buffalo Roams. Great service. The burger was the best I’ve had in a long time. We will be back. This place earned my repeat business!!

I've been going to this restaurant for a long time. I have never been disappointed or upset with my food or drinks. The serving staff are excellent and the chef is one of a kind. Anytime I go out in this town that is one of the first places I go. If you are looking for a great place to have a drink or a quick bite this is your place. You will not be disappointed. I was a cab driver in this town for many years. I told the customers when I drop them off if you weren't happy with your food I will come in and pay for it. In all the years I've never had to pay for a bill. So don't waste any time come and try one of the best restaurants in Canada. From yours truly Bryan.

We love this place and have been here several times but never for brunch. We tried it this weekend and it was 10/10. Best brunch in Canmore and the best atmosphere. I ate the Huevos Rancheros and my wife had the Main Street special. Both were so good. They serve Kicking Horse coffee which we love and we were able to sit outside under the heaters and were really comfortable.
This place never disappoints.

After a long day of skiing in the Bow Valley my brother and I were recommended a saloon in Canmore that has cocktails to go and great bites to eat. We decided it was worth to check it out on the way home so we made the stop in town and went in.
As soon as you enter you’re greeted with a warm welcome, a large selection of alcohol, an assortment of baked goods and a mouth watering take-out menu. I ordered the Lake Winnipeg pickerel fish and chips and my brother got an amazing looking chicken sandwich which he said was the best he’s ever had. We also ordered a Teapot Vodka and a Beachfire cocktail to go that were worth going for on their own. My brother also purchased a bottle of coconut rum from Hawaii that we’ve never seen before. Can’t wait to try it!
Great place, great service, can’t wait to go back!

I will preface this by saying that I don't post a review unless I am amazed by something, and this place fit the bill. The atmosphere is that of a trendy saloon, and the employees were awesome. We sat at the bar, had some amazing drinks made by the knowledgeable bartender (the Manhattan is to die for here), and capped off the night with arguably the best burger I've ever had (and some delicious fries to boot). The meat was cooked well, and the burger was topped with extremely fresh vegetables and toppings. The meal comes with a BBQ-ketchup for dipping, but I highly suggest complementing that with the aioli du jour (tonight's was a chipotle-lime concoction). Can't go wrong with this place! Can't wait to come back.

We were hungry!! I ordered the “Chicken Yakatori” it looked so good by description. After an hour we still had no food. We watched , many people be seated and served. I finally asked our server and she said it takes 25 min. For the burgers. Trouble was I had ordered the chicken, soon she brought it out, two skewers of chicken a bit of sauce and styrofoam noodles that blew off of our plate in the wind. The chicken was not fully cooked so we could not eat it. Some time later the server came by and we to,d her she said well we could cook it some more. It was too late!! Another half hour had passed by. No apology whatsoever..

I can't say enough about how good the Saloon is. It is always reliably delicious and fun. Last night we had the pork chop and the meatballs with a beautiful bottle of Canadian pinot noir that was very reasonably priced. Our server Sam was super informative and took the time to help us plan our day hike for today.

This is a great little find! Their cocktail menu is so creative with recipes which were created onsite. Within our group, we tried 6 different cocktails and they were all excellent. We also had some appetizers which were delicious, most notably the charred cabbage and the hand-cut chips and dip.
Also a great atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff.

some locals referred us to this place and we're so glad they did. what a gem. we spent an amazing afternoon on the patio soaking in the scene, listening to great music. the food was incredible. I ate the best burger of my life and my wife loved her arancini and lettuce wraps. the service was super friendly and efficient too. we will be back soon.
