The food has been amazing there for years and the service is always top notch but recently I feel that their prices have gone a little high. Regardless it was completely worth it.

Had lunch at Scarolies a few days ago. The dinning experience is always very nice at this restaurant. The Maitre d's and the wait staff are always on point and everyone is well trained and works together. My beef is about the price of a...meal. A leafy green salad with a few slices of chicken, a burger and fries, 2 bowls of very homemade soup and a single regular coffee came in at a hefty $53 and change with tax and an 18% tip. No booze or dessert either. The restaurant wasn't very full either as is understandable. I know restaurants are under tremendous pressure with rising prices for supplies and labour but these new meal prices are not a model of sustainability. I really do hope prices come down and places like Scarolies catch a break because for the first time in the very many times I have eaten there, I did not find any of the "value" in the meal that was always present before. As I said the experience of eating there is always pleasant but sustaining $53 lunches is not something that we can do over the long term.More

We enjoyed the terrace seating which is a different dining perspective for the busy St-Jean blvd. Nice spacious tents with rustic tables covered with white table cloth (nice touch) While looking at the menu our water arrives with a cutting board & a full freshly...cooked still warm baguette & they create a swirl of evoo & balsamic to dip the cut bread, I of coarse asked for butter as well. We started with a Caesar salad $8.95 w/extra cheese & the meatballs $8.95 which were both very good. We had the Tortellini rose $20.95 & a shrimp pasta $19.45 & opted for the GF option+$3, the shrimps(8pcs) were larger than I expected & the sauce ( oil & garlic w/cheese) was very good as was the carbonara pizza $19.45 w/extra pepperoni+$2.95 We were so full we had no room for their dessert offerings which are presented on a try so you can see/eat with your eyes as well. We had a coffee & then as we paid we were offered another full warm baguette in a bag to take with us ! reasonable/tasty & well priced dinner. we'll be back !More

As a former Montrealer, I came home for a visit and wanted to take my friend and her Mom for a nice dinner. I was thinking "Downtown " but they live on the West Island and go to this Family Spot all the time. I...was skeptical at first, but was then blown away by the warmth of the service, the taste and size of the dishes and the ambiance. WHAT and AMAZING place.More

This place should not qualify as a restaurant. Everything was awful even the drinking water, which tasted like lake fish .. unfiltered. cheapest junk bread of the worst kind, all our individual dishes were in a pool of liquid … something, bland, overcooked completely uninspired...It’s not even worth writing about except to alert people to avoid this placeMore

Everything was done well - no problem with the reservation, we were seated in an area with other couples so it was quiet, our server James was outstanding and the food was delicious. James was attentive but not intrusive, friendly but not overdoing it, he...checked back often to make sure we had all we needed and he payed attention to the details, a gem for sure! My husband and I both chose the table d'hôte and a started with a salad and minestrone soup. We opted for a veal dish as our main dish that was accompanied by a tomato sauced spaghetti. Everything was tasty and hot. It was our first time at this restaurant but we will definitely return.More

We went to Scarolies for lunch on Sunday the 21st of November. We had 2 steak frites. A nice bavette with chipoltle seasoned fries, asparagus and a saute of mushrooms and onions. The food was spot on! Our waiter Jimmy was excellent. He made us...feel as if we were in his own home. His timing and attention to detail is excellent. We will certainly go back to Scarolies again! Thank you Jimmy!More

Second time visiting when in town for work. Excellent food, even just doing takeout. Did the spaghetti bolognese and had more food than could eat in one sitting. Provided a full baguette also. Will return. Inside seating is also available.

We arrived on time . Saturday night, very noisy , there were about 3 big tables near us celebrating birthdays! I ordered an eggplant parmigiana entree which came right away but the skin was still on , never seen that before ! Not tasty at...all ! Complained to the waiter . My next entree was mussels , they brought a big pot in front of me ! Dessert was a decaf cappuccino!More

This was the worst pasta dish I’ve ever had. After eating part of it, I felt super sick. I then spent my entire night puking. I will never be coming back!!

The family had a lovely time at Scarolies tonight, celebrating a birthday. We were a group of 13 and chose the late seating at 8 pm. There was no delay when we arrived. The table d'hote was reasonably priced. Martinis and cocktails were $11 each....More than half of us chose from the table d'hote which included a soup or Italian/ Caesar salad plus coffee/ tea at the end. We had people who had gluten or lactose intolerance in the group and they were well accommodated. The serving for salads was generous and we all pretty much wiped our plates clean, the salads were that good! It was awesome to have their baguettes, sliced at the table, served with plates of EVOO and balsamic vinegar. The pasta dishes were flavourful, the creamy tomato brandy lobster is a real winner! The portafoglio stuffed pasta is an interesting one indeed. Instead of a tube or a shell, this stuffed pasta was like a triangular envelope for the crab and lobster filling. Our waitress said she liked how there was different texture to the triangular pocket with crunchy corners and softer centers. I agree! The people who had the steak and fries or the rack of lamb did not leave anything on their plates. A huge high five and shoutout to Nadia, our waitress. Her friendly manner and her gentle opinion about what might be a good choice based on our interest plus her attention to detail with a group our size made our family celebrations all the more pleasant! Service really does make such a difference in how we remember our restaurant visits. Thanks, Nadia, for taking care of us so beautifully, with warmth and hospitality, even after a long day of work. At the end of the evening, Scarolies offered our group small complimentary glasses of port to add to the birthday celebrations. That was such an unexpected treat. We'll be back!More

Scarolies is back! We went for diner on the terrase! Prices are up that's true, $10 for a glass of wine and $8 for a bottle of domestic beer. The rack of lamb is now $38 up from it's pre-pandemic price of $35 2 drinks...and 2 lamb racks was $109 with tax, tip not included. Service was the very friendly Scarolies style. 2 parts "I'm your brother from another mother" and 1 part "I forgot to put in your main course". This is true, the wait staff was great and friendly as ever. However they forgot to put in our main...after a reminder the waiter jumped to it and expedited our meals. A complimentary dessert was offered and accepted. Lets chalk it up to opening jitters... Despite the main course foible a substantial welcome back tip was included. Still very much a favorite restaurant! Very happy to see they are back and swinging with both fists!More
