We came here on the night of a snowstorm, without reservations. There was a group there already, and 4 other tables were taken, leaving only 8 other spots available. Phew! There was a table d'hote with 5 or 6 options, prices ranging from $21 (chicken)...to $39 (lobster pasta) which was the main dish plus a soup or salad. A glass of house wine was $7 and cakes for dessert were $8 each. Service was friendly and fast. Frank made conversation easy and funny. Nobody pressured us to leave when things were really winding down for the evening and we were one of two tables left. The seafood linguine had mussels and shrimps, cooked in a tomato sauce and we were told we could have had it in a white wine sauce. The lobster pasta was served in a rosé sauce and came with 5 big shrimps in addition to almost a cup of lobster meat. We also had chicken parmigiana served with pasta in tomato sauce, and the veal with mushroom sauce paired with the same pasta in tomato sauce. The meal started with thin-crust "bread" (looked like mini tomato pizza and focaccia) that was fresh and warm from the oven. Crunchy and light! There was a big bottle of chilli oil on the table, wonderful with the breads and the pasta. We all chose a soup to start with instead of a salad due to the cold evening. Both lentil and minestrone soups went down easily. Their cakes are from "Daboom" (?) and we shared a helping of the Key Lime pie as well as the Lava cake. The former was a balance of tart and sweet and the Lava cake was served warm as expected. The lava cake was fluffier than others I've had and bigger in size as most others are the size of a small ramekin so it was perfect for sharing. All in all, this was truly a delicious outing and almost all our plates were completely empty (licked clean, you could say) at the end. We did not get to try the pizza which lots of guests seem to like because the Table d'hote options were so decently priced. We will have to come back to try your pizzas.More
