Not my first time there but, will definitely be the last. Went there on Saturday November 11, 2023 with friends. Did not have reservations but, the waitress sat us next to the door, despite the restaurant being pretty much empty. I ordered a Caesar salad...and a pizza. Was told pizza would take an hour or more because the ovens were being used for take out and delivery. Umm ?? So, take out and delivery have priority over sit down dining, where the client is ordering drinks and tipping ?? Found that odd but, ordered a different main coarse. Received my salad and there was a bug walking around in it. Called waitress over and she took it back. I figured, it happens and didn't make a big fuss about it. Second waitress brings me a second salad and guess what ? Yup, another bug walking around in it. Told her to take that one back as well and to forget about the salad. Needless to say, I just wanted to leave at this point but, decided to grin and bear it. During this process, another group of people came in and sat at the table next to ours. They placed their orders, +- 10 minutes after the salad experience. Then, ultimately, they received their orders before we received ours and guess what, they got pizza ?? Again, I just laughed it off and shook my head. Our meals finally arrived and I asked for some bread, which normally, they serve focaccia bread. Was told there was none because, you guessed it, the ovens were being used for the pizza's, so, she brought us a basket of very stale buns. Now, we finished our meals and asked for the bill, as we were ready to leave. No apology for any of the above. You would think the manager or owner would come see us to at least try to save face, but nothing. You would also think that maybe, just maybe, they would comp my meal or at least, offer a dessert or coffee or something. Nothing. Really not impressed with (our last and final) experience. By the way, after goggling the "the bug" the next day, it turns out it was a baby cockroach. Pretty f***ing gross.More

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time. I was with an old friend from out west and we decided to try this restaurant out. The ambience is quiet and perfect to enjoy great conversation and food. I had the veal parmigiana with a...side of spaghetti. It was superb. My friend had the alfredo. He told me that it was the best that he had ever eaten. My friend is a world traveler and has had alfredo in many places all over the world. The service was impeccable. The server was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant.More

We came here on the night of a snowstorm, without reservations. There was a group there already, and 4 other tables were taken, leaving only 8 other spots available. Phew! There was a table d'hote with 5 or 6 options, prices ranging from $21 (chicken)...to $39 (lobster pasta) which was the main dish plus a soup or salad. A glass of house wine was $7 and cakes for dessert were $8 each. Service was friendly and fast. Frank made conversation easy and funny. Nobody pressured us to leave when things were really winding down for the evening and we were one of two tables left. The seafood linguine had mussels and shrimps, cooked in a tomato sauce and we were told we could have had it in a white wine sauce. The lobster pasta was served in a rosé sauce and came with 5 big shrimps in addition to almost a cup of lobster meat. We also had chicken parmigiana served with pasta in tomato sauce, and the veal with mushroom sauce paired with the same pasta in tomato sauce. The meal started with thin-crust "bread" (looked like mini tomato pizza and focaccia) that was fresh and warm from the oven. Crunchy and light! There was a big bottle of chilli oil on the table, wonderful with the breads and the pasta. We all chose a soup to start with instead of a salad due to the cold evening. Both lentil and minestrone soups went down easily. Their cakes are from "Daboom" (?) and we shared a helping of the Key Lime pie as well as the Lava cake. The former was a balance of tart and sweet and the Lava cake was served warm as expected. The lava cake was fluffier than others I've had and bigger in size as most others are the size of a small ramekin so it was perfect for sharing. All in all, this was truly a delicious outing and almost all our plates were completely empty (licked clean, you could say) at the end. We did not get to try the pizza which lots of guests seem to like because the Table d'hote options were so decently priced. We will have to come back to try your pizzas.More

Ordered for delivery to hotel - took only about 20 minutes. Pizza was hot and delicious. Large pizza with mushrooms, onions, olives, and extra cheese, with pepperoni on half. Pizza is BIG. Wonderful flavor. Couldn't have asked for better.

Cozy restaurant in a nondescript shopping mall, but the food is great and prices are very reasonable for the quality. Service was a mite spotty.

We have been going to this restaurant for well more than 30 years. To succeed as an Italian restaurant in the West Island takes something special because about half the restaurants in the area are Italian. My wife is a big fan of Pete's Pizzas...and my favorite is their cannelloni. Their homemade veal stuffing is amazing! They also know how to saute fish well and the usually have a nice selection available. We feel like family whenever we visit.More

I had made a 6:45 pm reservation during the week for 4 people. When we arrived our table was ready. While we were looking over the menu our waitress brought us a few nice slices of homemade pizza to nibble on. Delicious. We all ordered...from their ‘Special’ menu which included a soup or salad (garden or caesar) and tea or coffee. We all started with their very fresh Caesar salad. I had mine with a few slices of anchovies. For our mains, two of us chose their Linguini di Mare ($21), while the other two ordered the Pasta al Forno ($16). All our dishes arrived at the same time and were super hot. As expected everything was delicious. The Linguini was loaded with mussels and shrimp. The Pasta al Forno consisted of three nice sized pasta rolls filled with veal and topped with cheese in a tomato sauce. Everything was delicious, no leftovers. We finished our meal with some teas and a coffee. We also ordered once slice of very fresh Key lime pie. During our meal, another 8 of our friends showed up. Their table was waiting. Parking was not a problem. Enjoy!More

just now I rarely leave Google reviews, especially negative ones. We booked a table for 18 people at Da Mangione for an anniversary. It was some of the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant in the West Island. - Allocated one waitress...for 18 people - Food orders taken at seperate times - Food coming at different times, some received their food 50 minutes after ordering. - No cutlery, taking plates away prematurely - Getting dirty looks by the wait staff because we had kids - We brought a cake for the occasion and they agreed to serve it to us. They pre cut a cake with writing on it, serving it to us as if we were in a production, totally taking away the "surprise" for the couple of the night. It was their 49th wedding anniversary. So rude I don't even know what to say. And the food... Da Mangione simply cannot handle large groups. The rudeness was CRAZY. Think twice before booking here. I understand if you are struggling to manage a group, everyone has difficult days at work. But in the service industry, try to smile. Special shout out to the waitress (not ours) with the black hair, younger. Only nice person in the resto. Also...This is NOT family restaurant. If you have kids, don't even think about it So many better options in the west. Vivaldi, Famiglia, Riccardo's, Scarolies....all great service. I'm sorry Da Mangione, I don't usually slam small businesses and support the community, but really, I can't on this one. Go back to the drawing board and learn how to have basic manners with your guests.More
