Welcome to the neighbourhood. It is nice to have something different and original in Whitby (home of the chain restaurants). Chef Rajan brings rich, deep, and vibrant flavours of Northwestern India to our town. The Lamb Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala were aromatic, with just the right level of flavourful spice and tender moist meat. Dishes came to the table piping hot in their signature copper serving dishes. The light and airy naan bread was perfect for sopping up those fabulous sauces. Lots of food which meant take home portions for lunch tomorrow. Well done - can't wait to go back.

This place is new and amazing! The service is friendly and food tastes great. I’ve tried quite a few of the dishes so far and have not been disappointed with any of them. Their apps are fresh made and food always arrives hot and tasty. They use the right spices for each dish and you actually taste the uniqueness. Their rasmalai is one of the best I’ve had. Love the presentation and cleanliness of the restaurant as whole. Will definitely make this a regular spot.

First time customers, extremely impressed with everything! The quality and taste of the food is amazing. Service was exceptional, waiters are very attentive and polite. Food portions were very generous and the buttered naan is to die for. Restaurant is clean and tidy. They dont have a liquor license yet as they just opened but I trust it's coming soon.
Overall great place an fantastic food, see you again soon!

We ordered here tonight for the first time. And wow. Amazing food. The lady who took our order was very kind and helpful explaining all the different kinds of dishes. The Tandoori platter was delicious... Definitely ordering from here again and will be recommending to all our friends. Good to support local business too. Don't have any pictures as we ate it all 🤣

We had two vegetarians and two meat eaters at the table, all who have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Durham Region and Toronto. Our lovely server catered to our varying needs for degree of ‘spiceness’ in our food. The food was EXCELLENT beautifully presented, delicious, plentiful, and most filling. We will all most certainly be going back. Good value for money, very nicely decorated. Most attentive service. Thank you

Biriyani is not their best food. My suggestion is if you can't do justice to a dish then don't put it in your menu. I ordered Chicken Biriyani, which neither looked or tasted like a Biriyani. Seemed like someone made a curry and later added some rice to it. No authentic flavor or taste of a Biriyani. Pieces of chicken in there are not too great either. They are chewee and blant. Also the quantity of chicken for the price is not justified. They should first eat some real Biriyani before making it!

The food was ready on time and the portions generous. The tandoori platter had the most delectable salmon, paneer and chicken. Dal soup flavours were on point. Laccha paratha bread just buttery and tasty. I could eat it daily!
The folks started early for delivery of food right after opening.

Wow. Just wow. 3 of us went and enjoyed every single dish. Seriously delicious and completely affordable. We ordered way too much food and for 3 of us the bill was only $65.00!
I understand they will have a buffet lunch set up soon.
Great atmosphere. White tablecloths which my mom is worried about because the sauces kept dripping on the cloth 🙃.
Great place will be going back soon with my kids.

Food is authentic and well prepared. Flavourful and great portions.
The city had just started opening restaurants and the food delivery appeared to get priority over restaurant diners. Service was a bit slow but there was only 1 person working the restaurant at the time.

My daughter was crushed when she found out Wimpy's diner was replaced by a new Indian restaurant. I, only the other hand, was overjoyed. Nothing against Wimpy's but the calibre of food at the Balti is far greater. I really like how you can customize the level of spice in your dish. I have never enjoyed butter chicken more than when I ordered it at the Balti. The customer service is just as good as the food so I really don't think you can go wrong here.

My wife and I dined out on Friday with some friends at Balti Indian Restaurant. We've dined here before and never been disappointed with either the quality, quantity, or service, all three have been excellent I highly recommend this restaurant, everything on the menu is first-rate and the prices are very reasonable. If you like Indian food, you'll love this place.

Did safe (COVID era) takeout with five vegetarian dishes and was thrilled. I had been to their excellent buffet shortly after they opened but this takeout experience was wonderful: beautifully spiced, each dish distinctly flavoured, generous container of raita, some lovely condiments. The baingan bharta, channa masala, onion bhaji, vegetable navratan, and palak paneer were first-rate; the service was friendly. Good portions too for the reasonable price! I know there are some great Indian places in the Durham region, but this is my new favourite. Looking forward to a time when I can dine in again and order off their great menu. Home run!

Finally a great Indian restaurant in Whitby!
We went due to recommendations from a friend and were very glad we did.
We ate the Balti butter chicken, chicken vindaloo (full of fresh ingredients and bursts of flavour), naan, another bread filled with onions/cilantro (delicious!) and basmati rice. We enjoyed every bite! Service was quick and friendly too. We will definitely return soon!

We had dinner for 2 ordered through delivery. The food was delicious and the delivery was speedy. The garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had!
The medium spice level had quite a kick, but wasn’t too hot for us (and we usually order medium-spiced food). I couldn’t do any hotter though!

We have been a couple times now and it is just sooo good! Everything we have ordered was absolutely delicious. The staff are so lovely and the service was quick!
I have tried a million butter chickens in Durham region and this one is by far my favourite.
Most of the menu is gluten friendly and clearly labelled as so it is very appealing to those with a gluten intolerance!
