Lovely little restaurant, very clean and featuring artwork by a local artist. The owner, who served us is charming and really added to the experience. The prixe fixe is a great deal, and you can upgrade to French onion soup! The soup was good, well proportioned broth, bread and cheese. The steak frites were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Steak was tender and delicious, though mine had a bit more fat than preferred. Pot de chocolat and blueberry gateaux were very good (forgot to take pics).
We need to eat here more often!!

Wonderful, intimate bistro with an authentic French atmosphere. We each had the prix fixe menu, from which we chose salad, lamb chops with fries, house wine, and desserts. Food was excellent and reminded us of our honeymoon meals in Southern France. Highly recommend!

Great food. They offer the fixed price menu for $39 per person: soup or salad, entrée and dessert.

The ambiance is so cute and intimate. This family owned business went out of their way to make sure my experience was memorable . Now, the best part… I hadlasagna and it was the best lasagna I have ever had in my entire life and I have eaten lasagna in Italy and around the world. Unbelievable food and I highly recommend.

This is the type of restaurant where they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Friendly smiles, top notch service and food that is better than you can imagine. I’ve been here on multiple occasions and tried a few things all the menu - not one has disappointed. It’s hard to pick a favourite thing about this place, but if I had to it would be the dessert and a perfectly made cappuccino by Phillip. If you are deciding a place to eat in Whitby THIS is the spot!

Phoned to work through the Bistro's pandemic menu offerings for this week with Manon's charming & knowledgeable help. Settled, for 3 people, on one quiche - SUPERB, one crepe - very good, and the jambalaya - good: provided four meals!
Interesting selection of wines secured by the Bistro. Chose a Cotes de Gascogne Sec which "knocked the quiche out of the park"!
As she has done since 1993 Manon provided super service: she had the meals hot for pick up and helped us prepare for picnic style. Lifted our spirits during these challenging times.

On my second visit to Nice, I realized my first visit was not by chance. We received a warm and personal welcome when we entered. After seating us and we received menus, our candle was lit and our drink order was taken. The restaurant has a very French feeling to it; from the floors to the bistro tables. The walls are decorated with art from a local artist, which can be purchased. Manon made sure we were always content with our food, drinks and service. Our food was exceptional-from the pate fois gras with crusty French bread, to our main course of a delicious pasta with cream sauce, chicken and mushrooms, to our dessert. Service was exemplary, friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back.

We are frequent patrons, at least before Covid. Tonight was our first night out after the rules made us feel safe. All patrons vaccinated. Status checked at the door. Celebrating my wife's birthday prompted our visit. We share a salad and each ordered beef bourguignon. We were very sated at meals end. The salad is arguably the best in Durhan. Very crisp romaine, noticeable garlic and cheese, all balancea ,resulting in a treat for first course. The bourguignon was superb. Beef so tender and deeply rich beef flavor, a potato dish reminiscent of scallop potatoes.. carrots and grilled beans finished the entre. The spices produced an aromatic and vivid taste on the palate.

One of our favourite spots to dine in, we pivoted and ordered takeout as dine in is currently not allowed due to
the current pandemic restrictions. Everything was fantastic, well packaged and well presented. My mouth was watering as I was driving home with the food I couldn't wait! We ordered my wife's favourite salad the Pommes Bernard, my kids split the Caesar Maison - I took a taste of the dressing and its probably the best I have tasted! I had the Norwegian Smoked Salmon - very fresh! Osso Bucco, Coq au Vin, 3 Cheese Lasagna, Butternut Squash Ravioli were the entrees and they were all crowd pleasers! Nothing should change in terms of supporting your local establishments during this latest stay at home order. If you are like me and my family and make dining out a regular thing, just because restaurants are not able to be open for in person dining, support your favourite spots or try something new in your local community and order out! Our community needs these places to be there and thriving when this pandemic is all behind us!

We had the opportunity to have dinner on Nice-Bistro's sidewalk patio. A very unique dining experience. The staff ensured we were comfortable and provided us some extra shade on a warm day. The food was excellent like the service as always. The restaurant scene is crowded with similar styles but Nice-Bistro offers top notch option for those seeking outstanding food and service.

One of our favorite places to go out for dinner. A family owned and run Bistro that from the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you've been transported to France!
Amazing relaxed atmosphere with sublime foods! Menu changes regularly to keep seasonal specials that will keep you coming back for more.
Theme nights are also planned with live Jazz music, or theater that is interactive and personal.
Definitely recommend Nice Bistro to anyone who loves good food!

Our first visit to this fabulous restaurant. The food was flavourful, generous portions and presented well. The service impeccible and felt like dinner around the family table. We had the fixed prix. Prices reasonable. Good laughs and good food! Love the ambience as well! A hidden gem in downtown Whitby. Photos below. Of course I begin with dessert-pot du chocolat!

This is our fourth or fifth visit, this time we brought a couple with us celebrating his 50th. These people are 'fussy foodie' types...they absolutely loved it. Once again, we had fantastic warm and friendly service matching the fabulous food! Try the veal, veally good! My foodie friends had the rabbit and veal tortiere (on the board menu), also excellent.

Picked up the prepared Beef Bougingnon with side of vegetables - sous vide for two. Requested a paired bottle of red wine and they gave us some nice French rolls. 15 minutes at home and all was ready to go. It was delicious and easy.. Highly recommend to all.

It's been over a year since we visited Nice (thanks Covid) but we finally made it for lunch. Still excellent food and service and Covid safety. I don't know what the take out or dinner business is like but this bistro is definitely worth going to in person. Certainly wasn't busy for lunch when we were there and it should be.
