The service and friendliness always is great.
Food is very average.... Sounds good at first But never has lived up to billing.
Cake usually fresh and tasty But sometimes served Stale.... Cake is an insane price at $12.00 + tax.
Wish these guys well.... BUT.......they need to pull up their socks.More
I dropped in by myself for breakfast. I wish I could write that it was delicious however after sitting in a booth for over 15 minutes without a menu I got up and left. Patrons arriving after me received menus and coffee. I tried to...get the server’s attention but she kept walking by me.
I won’t be returning to this restaurant.More
Just got back and had to send back milkshake as it basically tasted like chocolate milk. They re-made it and then same issue. Showed the waitress a straw and released it and basically water texture. She didn't look like she really cared. I'm not paying...$5 for a chocolate milkshake that didn't even taste like it had ice cream. Service really slow too. At the end wife asked for bill and prob waited 10 mins but nothing. I went up there to pay and she said wait a minute - she then proceeded to print it out. This should have been done when we asked for it and not left waiting. Will not be returning as other places in the area are better. Agree with other recent reviews - we won’t return and suggest you don’t either.More
My family and I decided to go for breakfast here. We'd heard it was better than the location on King Street North, and though I've never been to that location for breakfast (only dessert), it was also closer to my daughter's workplace. I would certainly...say that the decor and ambience are better!
Overall, the food and service were quite good, hence the 4 "stars". We did think our eggs were on the greasy side, but otherwise the food was tasty and the portion sizes generous. Coffee was horrible, but coffee is always an issue for me, no matter where I go. Hard to find a decent cup. Stick to water.
Prices were standard. While I should have realized the French Toast wasn't a "sandwich," its placement on the menu was somewhat confusing, so I thought the hash browns came with it, rather than as a side. The misunderstanding came with a $3.75 price tag x two (since two of party ordered French Toast with hash browns). What the FT does come with is a fresh fruit cup.More
Hands down the worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. We were seated for lunch promptly but waited 20 min to give our food and drink order and then another 50 for our mains. The appetizer didn’t come at all. No one checked in...on our meal after it was served and 20 minutes after finishing we finally got up and went to search out the server for the bill. No coffee or dessert was offered. When we mentioned to the server that the experience didn’t set a very good first visit impression she simply smirked at us. This was a Monday lunch with the restaurant about 1/3 full. We won’t return and suggest you don’t either.More
The restaurant decor is great, the service was good and our server took the time to have conversation with us. The food was excellent - we had Maple Glazed chicken from the Valentine's menu and it was delicious. When there was no guarantee of a...nut-free dessert, the server kindly offered ice cream on her, which was kind. I've been at this location on a number of occasions and will be back. Always an enjoyable experience with great food.More
My husband and I visited Symposium Cafe last Valentines Day and loved the menu service and food quality. So this Valentines Day we decided to return to our favourite spot once again only to be disappointed. The service was impeccable but the menu had changed but...not the price. For example the menu offers a 4 course meal for $35 a person. We started with our roasted pepper soup which is delicious and then followed by a ceasar salad and the main course which we were disappointed with as last year 2019 we had the surf and turf which consisted of a steak with a skewer of shrimp garlic mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables which was so yummy yet this year is was downsized with 3 skewers 2 of beef which y husband enjoyed about 4 chunks of beef that were the size of a thumb nail with roasted potatoes all topped onto a spring mix. It was not enjoyable and then we were sadly disappointed when the dessert dish came and we had to share it as last year 2019 we each had our own plate with a brownie ice cream and whole strawberries and this year we found the portion sizes small and not as good quality. The menu was changed and not for the better and if items were taken off and the quality was downgraded then why wasn't the price lowered as per quantity and quality?? We felt very rushed as when our soup was served after 3 spoonfuls the salad was right next to it and when we finished our soup and were about to start our salad our main entree was served right away so by the time we finished our salad the main entree was cold. I didnt notify the server as she was very pleasant cheerful and learning her job but I want management and the owner to know that as per our elegant Evening out especially for valentines because we were disappointed in our time at Symposium we are sad to say we wont enjoy another valentines dinner special at your restaurant as we wont know what to expect for 2021. We are happy to say this gives us the opportunity now to enjoy a new destination for our future valentines day dinners.More
