Delicious Middle Eastern Food

I have dined at this restaurant five times and was impressed each time. Not only were the meals very flavourful but the presentation of the food was also delightful. I'm a huge hummus fan, and the hummus at Chic Pea is the best I have ever tasted.

Good food but the service could be better.

Went there for lunch the other day. Very good menu with lots to choose from. My sister had the chicken shwarma sanf, I the veal sanj and my wife the chick pea sampler. All were excellent. The service could have been much better. The server never came back during our meal and I had to flag him down to get the check. Prices were not bad at all. Overall, we'd go back since the food is good.

My new favorite restaurant

This used to be a Pizza Hut restaurant (the telltale roof shape will tip you off). The delicious aromas and tasty food now served inside makes up for the sins of greasy and unhealthy fare of the past. Let's just erase that from our collective memories, shall we? Chic Pea offers Middle Eastern cuisine that is nutritious, delicious, and will compel you to come back and try all of the menu items. The only caveat: They do not offer tap water and charge $3 for a bottle of water, but I am almost able to overlook that.

Never go back again!

This restaurant used to be great. I think they switched the owner. it has gone downhill from food to service. I went with my friends for a buffet dinner" IFTAR" most of the food wasn't taste good, except for the chicken. The sweet ( KINAFA) was salty!! The family next to us found something strange on their food ( not too sure what was it but we heard the waiter apologize). too loud we couldn't hear one another speak. I paid $45 for this horrible buffet. very disappointed

Service not greatest, Saj wrap was good

We came here for picking up takeout food. We arrived and ordered food, and they said it will take 20mins. We came back after walking for 20mins, and they still hadn't started making our food. We had to wait for an hour to get our food, when the restaurant was pretty empty (9 people only). Food was ok - we tried the pizza, shawarma bowl and falafel saj wrap - saj wrap was pretty good, rest was ok. Would probably visit when i have an hour to waste.

Called in my order today. Sent my husband to pick up. He was not happy as they couldn't find my order. Service is very bad. No organize skilled person behind cash and taking orders. They seem very unorganized in running a perfect business . Even though the food is good, fifth time we had ordered food and same experience every time. Very disappointing.

Wonderful food and staff

I came here for a quick take out lunch while in the area for work. I had the chance to chat with the owner who clearly had a passion for what he does. The food was fresh, full of flavour, well spiced for all types of foodies. I loved it so much that I made sure to return the next day. I had a chicken shawarma box the first day and falafel wrap the next. Really wonderful experience to learn about how they make their food. Thanks!

Great food, excellent services

Chic Pea has only been open a few short months but it has already become on of our favorite. We are still trying different items on their menu. Their chicken dishes are all quite good. Their pita bread is absolutely to die for (I could just eat that for an entire meal). The hummus is amazing I’m not to fond of the falafels (they were very very dry) which is unfortunate because I really enjoy falafels. We tried the Turkish pizza; not something I enjoyed but I think it is just a question of taste. I will ask for less sauce in any dishes that I order in the future just because it is too much of a good thing. This is a large restaurant with lots of parking so excellent for a big group. They also offer take out specials everyday. A good place for everyday meal. (Be careful not too over order; portions are very generous)

Tasty, friendly & fancy

We had to check out this newly opened place. It is simply great, such happy and friendly staff and super-delicious options. I really like the fancy and stylish way they decorated the place (glittery surprises everywhere!). The food was served on a wooden board with little dishes, lovely.

Tasty Middle Eastern food

Opened just over a month ago, this place was a great discovery in Waterloo.....really liked tasty C Bear (flat bread topped with beef shawarma) Turkish coffee and baklava to top it up. Five star for Feven’s service, pleasant and friendly lady who served us.

The most amazing middle eastern food!

What a delight to discover a new middle eastern eating spot away from the noisy uptown crowd (with lots of free parking) or the boardwalk (which is so huge). This location is just skip outside of the chaos of the university students and right across from the new Conestoga College Waterloo Campus. And the location is nothing compared to the ambience. I thought we'd be walking into a dark "diner" setting but was wowed by the lighting and layout. All white and chrome and incredibly stylish lights with comfy chairs, booths and big open spaces so people aren't sitting on top of each other. And the bonus is you can SEE the meats being cooked on this massive rotisserie (you gotta see it to believe it) right in the restaurant - now that is fresh! The food itself is copious - we had to take part of it home. The lentil soup warmed my soul - the ultimate in comfort food on a cold evening. The shish chicken was so full of flavour and everything came on charcuterie boards (and there was enough side dishes included to satisfy all your taste buds). What really put the icing on the cake for me was the owners came by a couple of times to chat - ask we we had enough (really?) and make us feel we were so welcome - a happy and most filling experience.
