What happened? Excellent foof, great presentation when you were in the restaurant. THe food in the restaurant was do nicely presented. a limited wine menu , that was not good. but the food great . DOon needs restaurants. THere is very little out here. THe two pubs are okay. HOw about someone coming here and making a trendy hangout with gourmet food. Cameron , move to Doon! Open another restaurant. There are no decent Chinese in the area.

We usually get take out every couple months...can call ahead. One of the few good Chinese places in the KW area. We get the General Tao, chicken guy ding and egg rolls. Very tasty. If you eat in, the decor is very dated.

Although the restaurant is a little bit plain on the inside, this place really serves fresh, tasty Canadian-Chinese style food. The family that owns the restaurant makes an effort to get to know regular clients, asking how they are.
Every dish we have tried has been good, and my favourite (which I had on this occasion) includes ordering a spring roll (instead of the ubiquitous egg roll) with sweet and sour chicken and fried rice.My wife had the sesame chicken which is always excellent, but this day was not quite hot (first time ever, she said!) Please note that we often use them for take-out, and they also offer delivery. They do not have a liquor licence, but no one seems to object when enjoying the great food.

Saw someone mention new location. They have been here for 20+ years, so not sure what they were smoking.
Great take out Chinese food.
Good portion size with lots of meat in noodle dishes. Prices are good.

This restaurant changed location and is much improved for atmosphere. Th outdoor patio in the summer is a nice improvement When COVID was at its height the owner was NOT wearing a mask and said he did not have to! This was the last time I visited this restaurant.

Chicken fried rice is horrible. Literally just chicken and rice. General Tao is not that great either. Move on. Not worth your time

Not really meant for dine-in, but my favorite chinese take-out in town.
The outside and inside are pretty rudimentary, but the food is always delicious.
Ming's has been my go-to Chinese take-out place for the 15 years I've been in town. I've tried a number of others, take-out and dine-in and generally leave with a sense of "that was good/decent but not as good as Ming's". My wife in the last 8 years also shares my sentiment.
I would not recommend Ming's for dining in. They do have some small tables, but at its heart its take-out. Their has limited seating and with all the people coming in to get take-out it can feel cramped.
The staff is really nice and has been the same (owners) for the 15 years I've been around.
My go-to dishes are: Chop Suey & Lo-mein (generally beef)
After that I have tried maybe 10 - 15 other dishes and they are all good.

Everyone is friendly. Best to call ahead and book food for pickup as it is very popular and therefore busy at times. Usually do take out. Love their sesame chicken!

I go to Ming's all the time. They are friendly, and they accommodate to my requests with no problems. My wife likes it; my kids love it. We live at the other end of time and still drive up to get our Chinese food there.
If the owners decide to sell me their Szechwan sauce in a tiny container I will be there every single week.

I am not sure why my employees order food from this place? I have asked them that very question?
The Vegetable Lo Mein on Combo #5 says vegetables but I only see bean sprouts and only a few at that! Other vegetables like carrots, celery, peas, onions, bok choy or whatever like other Vegetable Lo Meins have from other Chinese restaurants are the way this should be. Not a pile of noodles and a few scattered bean sprouts throughout. It sucked.
The Sesame Chicken..... like so many other folks commented on here , should Sesame chicken not have sesame seeds? What makes this sesame? Obviously just the sesame oil! Very boring!
I looked at the other dishes my employees ordered and they all looked boring as well. Cheap out, no creativity or variety of ingredients. Sad!
Do you all want a Chinese restaurant near Waterloo that actually has awesome food? Try Star Wok in the Sobey's plaza at Bridgeport Rd. and Weber St. And they also deliver.

I read that their sesame chicken was the best around so I went to try it out. When I got the food there was not a single sesame seed on it. It was wet and soggy. But those things didn't bother me as much as when I was waiting for the food, I saw one of the chefs drop a pot brush on the ground. He picked it up and continued using it in the pot. This is completely disgusting and unsanitary.

You are there for the fresh, abundant, very tasty dishes. We dined in and the service couldn't have been better and friendly too. General Taos chicken is the best we have ever had. The owners are most anxious to know there customers and when you eat in you get to know them and likewise they you. Highly recommend for dine-in or take-out
