Lunch Is Served!

We've been here before. Anytime we're in Smiths Falls we tend to go here for a good hearty breakfast. This time, we were meeting family members for lunch. We don't get to see them often and decided lunch at the Diner would be a good idea. The service is always great here. The wait staff are welcoming, friendly and playful. This is far from a fancy place ... it's a true diner. They serve basic fare and it's very good food. There is plenty of parking and it's a popular spot. We've never had to wait for a table but I have seen it full. We won't be disappointed at this place. Enjoy!!

Great Breakfast, Excellent Service

We've eaten here a few times over the past three years and have never been disappointed. You know it has to be good when it's as busy as this place is. We've had breakfast and dinner here but this time was breakfast. The breakfast menu has options for everybody. The portions are generous and filling. Poached eggs are my eggs of choice for breakfast ... a tricky choice because not all restaurants can get "medium poached" just right. Not the case here ... they were just the way I like them. The service is excellent with wait staff who are pleasant and engaging. It can get a bit noisy when full but then what restaurant can't. The food comes out of the kitchen quickly and hot ... even when they're busy. It's a little out of the way of downtown but location shouldn't be the primary concern when choosing a restaurant ... food and service should be!! We highly recommend this place.

Terriblely rude staff

Hot , flies everywhere..the staff seemed like they didn't want is there. Food was average but couldn't wait to leave as they made us feel uncomfortable

Rude waitressing staff did not even stay!@

Rude waitressing staff we did not even stay to rate the meal. I am sick and tired of businesses in the customer service industry allowing rude staff. It's time to avoid these establishments

We usually love this restaurant and go there once a week for breakfast - service is good, kitchen is fast and the food consistently good. However, on our last visit, it was too cold/rainy to sit outside so we ended up inside the restaurant. The booth section was full (every second one was blocked for social distancing which is good) - the front room was well distanced and had only a few diners. We ended up with a table in the back room and I could reach out and actually touch the chairs at the other table. Soon, all the tables filled up and we were sitting no more than a couple of feet from diners at the table beside us. We finished out breakfast quickly and got out of there. I'm dismayed that the restaurant owner did not bother to police a whole section of their restaurant. The last straw was that later that day, I learned that there were two new cases of covid-19 in Smiths Falls - in the community. I've been very nervous since then. We won't be going back to the Country Diner anytime soon - and if they are not careful, someone will report them to the local health unit.

Tasty lunch, good value lunch

I had chicken souvlaki with greek salad and rice for lunch for $12.99. Very tasty, good value and fast service. I am trying g out their breakfast tomorrow.

Homestyle Diner, fast & friendly

This is a great spot to visit for breakfast or lunch, fast & friendly service. A decent menu serving delicious diner eats. If your on a lunch break you can be in & out in 30-45 mins any day of the week!

Ok breakfast

Have been a few times. Home fries were cold and tasted deep fried. Eggs were ok. Waitress not very friendly every time we went.

Family Dining with Value

My wife and I are retired and we often look elsewhere when it comes to meals. We frequently look for best value when it comes to breakfast and lunch. Country Diner is a place where you can always expect friendly service and a tasty meal. They are known for their value packed breakfast as they always have a full crowd during the breakfast and noon hour rush. Servers there make it a priority. to know your name and greet you accordingly. The soup of the day is my favorite. They have 2 good chef's there although one tends to cook with a little more salt than the other. You will not be disappointed.

Good restaurant, very busy while we were there. Large portion of poutine was laughable. My child ate it and was looking for more. Would hate to see the small size.

We tried the 2 stick chicken souvlaki was really good the chicken and the Greek salad great the rice had no flavour really bland other family had clubhouse they liked but fries where frozen not fresh cut and over cooked the beef barley soup was really good
