I went to this place for the first time and only knew it existed because of a git card I received during a "Pasta Month" event. The place looked clean and presentable and was set up like a sit down restaurant. But it was confusing...when we walk in since you have to order first at the counter and then sit down to be served. The staff was pleasant but not helpful. When we presented the gift card to confirm the amount of around $30, the staff looked puzzled and then after checking with someone at the back said they do not use that card anymore. To be clear however, the card does not have an expiry date on it. What surprise me was there wasn't anyone who could make an executive decision on a misally $30 card, Best they could do was give me an email of an authority that could help. I did that while we were having dinner which was an arugula salad that was equal to a basic salad we would make at home. I was impressed that the email response came in the very next day which read "I am really sorry for the complications. I will look into the gift card and get back to you asap." Then three days later another response from another person that read, "Hi Tony, I will look into it for you." A week later after hearing nothing, I followed up politely asking for an update. Haven't hear anything since and writing this 3 month later. As an entrepreneur for many years this is a big "No No" in the customer service department. If you are in a business dealing with customers, then customer service should be your number one priority and nobody should ever fall through the cracks. I am sure whatever the gift card cost them was cover in our decision that my wife and I made to stay and have lunch at this new found place. A decision I am now regretting after feeling good about gaining a promotion gift card only to find out later I am the one supporting the businesses promotional intentions.More

Very unfortunate that such a delicious restaurant has a very poor service. Called in advance to inquire re catering order. I was told that as long as I order before friday, I am good to go for Saturday pick up. To my disappointment when I...called Thursday night to place an order, I was told that they do not take any more orders from catering menu.More

take out order - marinara was extremely watery.. order the rapini pasta which had uncooked, soggy procuitto, no flavour, very few ingredients despite paying extra for more toppings. I'm really sad because it's been around for a long time and I really wanted it to...be good. The quality was completely sub-par.More

Nonna’s is not the same. We loved this place. Last 3 take outs, Pizza poorly cooked, service poor, and we could have had additional but they don’t answer the phone. Seems the positive reviews went to their heads and they got arrogant or confident and...dropped the ball. We are going somewhere else, Gave them the benefit of the doubt 4 times, 3 bad pizzas, one time won’t answer the phone and we know they are open.More

I have never been to Nonna's oven in Oakville, just ordered from there and my goodness gracious, when I took that first bite of the quattro stagioni pizza I could hear the surf of the mediterranean sea and smell the delights of an italian restaurant....Their pizza is as close to originally italian as it is possible to get. The right amount of sauce, not too much cheese, artichokes, ham, olives and fresh mushrooms. Grazie mille!!!!! One should not mess with perfection!More

This is a cozy Italian place in a strip mall. We had the margherita rice balls which were delicious and veggie pizza which was great to share. The staff is friendly.

I tried the prosciutto sorpresa sandwich 2 months ago and it was THE BEST SANDWICH of my life. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I told everyone about this sandwich, shared photos in my Instagram, praised them for the warm fresh out of...the oven foccacia and perfect seasoning of rosemary, salt and drizzle of oil atop. I dreamt of this sandwich, it was a perfect 10. Finally went back yesterday and ordered the same sandwich and it was SO AVERAGE and very disappointing. This time they didn’t warm the bread. It was not fresh and the underside was burnt. The inner toppings had hardly any dressing. I actually came home and emptied the sandwich, put the bread back in the oven to warm it up then remade it and added Italian dressing and seasonings. This was such a let down after the first time. Had I been dining in I would have sent it back but I ordered pick up and there was only a table of 2 in the restaurant. Nonna, please, please, please... keep serving this sandwich with fresh out of the oven warm foccacia bread. It makes a such a difference and is worth a wait!!More

I had heard of this restaurant and found myself in the plaza for another purpose. It was early supper time and i called my husband to meet me there for supper. We had an arugula salad with pear (delicious ) a marguerita Italian pizza and...a carbonara. There was a line up going in, a good sign. Everything was fresh and no nonsense. The decor was simple . But I liked the congeniality of the servers. My husband was glad they had a Chianti by the glass. The pizza was thin and produced in a hot oven which I could tell because if the blister on the crust. Love it. The pasta was done just right and the pancetta was thin enough , the egg sauce was creamy. My husband found it a bit too rich. I liked it but I think it could have used something to cut the fat ratio down. May be a little less butter or oil and an addition of brightness through a herbaceous garnish ( Italian parsley and something acidic , a squeeze of lemon?) We would go again . They ran out of the cannoli and I would like to try them.More

Nonna’s is located in of the many plazas around Richmond Hill, so it does not have any character from outside. Inside the place has been decorated simply but it provides you a comfort that it is clean. Nonna’s has a good menu as trattoria and...pizzeria. You have classical sauces where you can choose the pasta you want to go with. We had the meatballs and they were excellent. Pizzas are baked on the oven so they are really good with fresh ingredients. For deserts their offering is short but very Italian, including the gelato. They have a take away and portions are generous, so watch out when ordering. Definitely a place to go or to order to take home.More

My friend and I met for lunch at Nonna's in Oakville. It was our first time at any location. It wasn't busy so we were seated immediatly. Since it was lunch we kept it fairly light. I had the tomato salad which also had chickpeas,...cucumber and bocconcinni cheese. The salad was fresh and wonderful. On the side I had the rice balls in margarite sauce. They were amazing!! My friend had the ceasar salad and on the side the meatballs. She enjoyed the salad, it was fresh, not over dressed. She said the meatballs were some of the best she'd ever had. Service was good in the beginning. Our food came out in a timely manner, not rushed which was great because we were there to chat and catch up. The server did stop by to see if everything was okay. The only failure in service was no one came to ask if we wanted any more coffee, which would have been appreciated to sip on as we finished our visit. We also were not asked if we wanted dessert but perhaps they don't serve desserts as I didn't notice any menu for them. We ended up grabbing a coffee at another establishment and went to the lake to finish our visit. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I would return again, perhaps for dinner and try their pizza and pasta.More

I would say the pizza size and taste was decent. We went for lunch and they brought our food quick. Quick service, but staff hasn’t have smile on their face and were not friendly. Very serious people ! The pizza authentically Italian but a little...dry and chewy. Ordered tomato salad but it was not good and had not have enough dressing Generally good to try the food.More
