One of not so many restaurants on Newmarket Main Street with a patio, so you can sit down and eat (not just take-out).
The patio is not real inviting though, it's basically a makeshift patio in a parking lot. Perfect for drinks at night but not so inviting during day time.
We had Saturday breakfast and the food was OK, I just wasn't happy with the so called "home fries", which were deep fried potatoes with the skin on. Prices were reasonable, service left some to be desired, it wasn't very attentive.
Kudos to the very young waitress (not ours) who really stuck around and cleaned/disinfected tables and chairs, she was a hard worker!
Will we be back? Maybe, but preferably not. However, these are different times, it's not so easy to find sit-down restaurants right now so we might be back.

Olde Village Free House Pub has excellent food and a very good selection of craft beers. The mixed drinks are premium served by experienced bar staff.
Live bands on Fridays and Saturdays, Karaoke Sunday nights.
One of the most popular restaurant, bar, pubs in Newmarket.
My girlfriend and I have made this our local hangout.

I went with a group of 6 friends for a Christmas celebration. The staff was very efficient in handling this larger sized group, and got us set up quickly with water and beverages. Their food was very good, I had a steak sandwich which was cooked to perfection. They have many choices of sides to choose from which is really nice if you want to avoid the fries and have something healthier as a side.
Everyone loved their food, one ordered their lamb dinner and she raved about it. Their menu is very large, and they also have daily specials. I don’t think I have ever seen a larger menu anywhere, so no excuses for not finding something that you like. I didn’t pay attention to what GLF free items were offered, but in a menu that size, I am sure there had to be the option.
The ambience of the venue is more pub like, and during the day, more diners than drinkers. They offer entertainment some evenings and I have been told it is busy during this time.
We made a reservation for our lunchtime meal, and luckily we did since it was very busy. I look forward to taking my family there as I just know they will love it.

Love this place for its food: ordered take out from there many times and never being disappointed. Today we actually went there for brunch and again the food was great.
Simple brunch with eggs, toasts, bacon and home fries. All arrived hot, very fresh and quickly.
Another favourite there is the chicken club sandwich.
So the food is great but the service was not. We were sitting outside during a hot hot day and we waited 15 minutes for water. The place was not busy at all but our waitress was not very attentive.

This was our first time at Olde Village Free House specially to try out the Vegetarian curry. As wifey & I r both Vegetarians the menu looked lot better than other pub fares in Newmarket.. But the evening started on disappointing note as our server advised us that veg curry was not available. So wifey opted for Stir Fry and I ordered Spinach Cheese Ravioli. Both dishes were delicious. No complaints. Drinks were good and also Sweet Potato fries were great.. Our server was very helpful, professional and apologized multiple times for the unavailable Veg Curry while suggesting other options.. 5 stars for overall experience of food, service and the outdoor seating..
*** Will go back as I still need to try Veg Curry *****

Have heard many things about this eatery and finally today had the opportunity to try their food. Due to Covid, this review relates only to food. The food arrived fresh, hot and tasty. Will definitely order again and look forward to a time when we will be able to attend for an in dining experience

What a great spot! Had the 1/2 pound of Chicken Fajitas and there was so much food that I took home enough for a second meal. Will absolutely be back!

So my husband and myself went for a smoke before our meal, some drunk guy came up and started screaming at me and my husband because there was garbage floating around the back of the bar and he said "we put it there " . He was screaming and yelling at us saying we littered. Not the case. I was shook and told the waitress when I came in because he was acting like he was gonna hit me and I was scared. My hands and knees were shaking ... all of a sudden this unprofessional ass named Jorden comes up and says "I don't know what happened but it's not cool to litter guys"..he said it so loud the whole restaurant could hear. We hadnt littered!! At this point im so embarrassed and in tears. I asked why he's sticking up for the drunk harassing us and is now sitting at the bar. I paid for what we had had (flat bread and a pitcher) but there was nochos still on the way. Obviously lost my appetite and said I didn't want them.. got yelled at again! "You don't get free food because your not happy." I eat here sometimes twice a day as I live down the road. I have NEVER EVER left a restaurant crying. I was bawling my eyes out. Never been more embarrassed. HOW DARE HE. I'm the girl that tips the kitchen too. And then! He came back to the table, I thought to apologize.. NOPE! He just came to stick up for himself and put me down some more! Jordens behavior was unnecessary and unwelcome and definitely on the wrong side. I will be reaching out to management and the owner as soon as they are open in the morning. And unfortunately, I will never be caught dead there if Jorden is still working there.

Stopped by with my family for an early dinner yesterday and enjoyed the atmosphere, beer and food. Restaurant was clean, service was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. We will definitely visit again!

Great selection of food on menu and also specials during the week. I've taken friends and family here and no one has been disappointed with what they ordered. Service is friendly and accommodating.

Small portions,overpriced. Steak sandwich was small steak on a bun literally steak and bread no garnish ,no sauce nothing.Fish was frozen not fresh and freezer burnt. Just bad .

Went here last evening for dinner and the food and service was very good. The menu has a good selection of food items as well as a number of specials offered. The beer selection is quite good , offering a number of big name brands as well as some craft beer. I wouldn't recommend it as a family dining experience though. There was a trio of regulars, judging by their familiarity with the staff and other patrons, who were loud, obnoxious and spewing F bombs every other word. You might want to leave the kiddies at home.
