Finally decided to try the Smokehouse and was not disappointed. It’s a popular place and you can see why. They’re very good at their specialty and the ambience is authentic, if not fancy. It’s not quite the standout that Bauer Kitchen, my go-to, is, but...it’s still an enjoyable way to enjoy some tasty smokehouse fare. The staff were nice, the service was fast, there are some decent craft brews on tap and everything else was good.More

Ordered wings, they came exceptionally fast. COLD….. Was more than obvious they tried to pawn a forgotten order on me. No thanks.

I'm not one to complain on the spot and for the most part most was "just ok" but my wings were as if they just came out of the fridge. You won't have the chance to fool me twice.

We, four of us, had not been there since before COVID and we agreed that it was about time to go back. Boy things have changed. The renovations are great. The old, worn roadhouse feel was completely gone and a warm smoke-house was there. We...were greeted very warmly, even if I did tell them that we were 4 of the party of 12 that was coming. Panic ensued until I told them I was joking. We were seated promptly and were asked for our drink choices. The gentleman could not choose so Dalia suggested a sampler of the beers we were in a quandary about. After the gentleman's taste buds were served they ordered their two beers and our main course. After a bit of a wait we were served but noticed that all four meals were only luke warm. We waved down our serer who was embarrassed and she promptly replaced our meals with a hotter replacement. She discussed our issue, four meals warm not hot, with the manager and he halved the cost of our meals. The cold food was offered to us free, as they would have to pitch the uneaten meals. We accepted the discount and the original, now cold offerings, and finished our meal. We felt badly for our server and told her that our evening was not ruined and that I would write this review with her being our hero she was.More

The food here is so amazing!! I took my teen kids here for dinner and we feasted on delicious BBQ. The portions are massive and of course we over ordered so we took the rest home to have the next day. Excellent service as well!...Will be back!!More

It was my dad's 75th birthday today, but 2 nights ago we went to The Lancaster Smokehouse for dinner (timing was better as he's off fishing today). My dad and I ordered the brisket with tater tots and coleslaw for him, tots and creamed corn...for me. My son had a kid's meal (chicken with mac and cheese), and it was Taco Tuesday so he tried 1 blackened chicken taco. We loved it all. The brisket was soooo tender, and there was enough leftover for dinner again the next day for us. My dad definitely loved his first Lanc meal. Service was relatively good. Hopefully we can go again.More

Overrated. Food was garbage, to be honest. I tried to like it because I love BBQ and someone I know recommended it but.. the food was partly burnt and dry, thankfully some of the ribs were ok. The brisket was garbage, as dry as it...could possibly be. I asked the waiter for a recommendation or special and she was useless to help us in finding something good. It was a party of 4 and we had no idea so I ordered the party platter and she rushed us to order and avoided our table all night. One person on the part basically just got ignored by the waiter when asking for a preference, unfortunately no one else heard in time to help. In the end about 25% was eatable and 75 was dry/burnt. I'm honestly not sure what everyone is talking about. Plus it's pretty expensive so I would recommend people go somewhere else. Even the chains like Montana's has better service and probably better food. People in Kitchener need some better BBQ, they seem to think that this is good... thats kind of sad but, good luck to you all if you decide to try it. I hope I was just unlucky. I don't think so though, they were rude and it was my birthday so I sorry but ya I'm a bit salty... it could have been a good thing but unfortunately they suck. Some places are too good for their own good. They have a name but and a strong placebo factor.More

The food quality and the amount is fantastic. My wife and I ordered the half ribs and have to say we took some home as these ribs have great meat on them. Our Server Katie was fantastic. You could see her on the move taking...care of her tables from taking customer orders, to cleaning tables when the customers are gone and so pleasant and cheerful. You wait a bit for your food but it’s worth it. If you wish to eat in the dining room, reservations are a good idea, walk ins for the bar and patio and no reservations you may have to wait to get a table, as they don’t rush customers sitting.More

I'm from Alabama, where the standard is pretty high for barbecue. And I've been to some of the best barbecue joints in the world in places like KC, Birmingham, and Austin. So I always approach barbecue places in Ontario with a bit of trepidation. But...it was completely unwarranted in this case. This place is in the barbecue major leagues. The brisket was especially good, which is always a good sign because it's one of the more challenging things to smoke. They brought us a pitcher of ice tea, another good sign, and the pulled pork and the ribs were all first rate. No baby backs here, big ole spare ribs, very well prepared. Sides were pretty good too. Baked beans solid, collards too. Cornbread a bit too sweet for my taste (I'm partial to the coarse meal, not very sweet style made in a cast iron skillet in the Deep South), but they have that in common with a lot of other pretty good barbecue places. Service was a little spotty (it was Saturday night and they seemed a bit overwhelmed). In general, though, this place was a revelation. Congrats to whoever runs the smoker, they really know what they are doing.More

Went to the Lancaster tonight for supper as our son had heard so much about it! It didn’t disappoint. We ordered the 4 meat and 4 side platter for the 4 of us and it came with cornbread. We all loved it and we felt...it was very reasonable for the amount of food you get! We took leftovers home with us! Our server, Shayna, was awesome. Could not have asked for better service, Would definitely go back !More

Obivously prices are going up with respect to the economic climate the last couple years but 24$ for chicken and waffles is beyond the pale. No matter how good your food is, chicken strips and waffles is not worth that.

Curb side pickup for a group lunch. Food was ready on time and was hot. Staff friendly. Three brisket meals to go. Brisket was tender and flavourful. Substantial amount, had leftovers, for two lunches. Tater tots were crispy and plentiful, crinkle fries were ok, sweet...potatoes fries were an unexpected pleasure, tasty and hot. Mac and cheese was ok, could use a little more cheese/flavour. Great value for the price.More

I'd been wanting to try The Lancaster Smoke House since it opened, but never got around to it. We had plans to get together with family members who we haven't seen since before the pandemic started, so we chose the Lanc. First off, our server...was great...so friendly accommodating. We all ordered different sandwiches...pulled pork, brisket and fried chicken. The sandwiches were pricey at $12 to $16 for just meat on a bun, but I respect that the meat is slow-cooked to perfection and is locally sourced, which is a bonus. They were all good, but the fries were a letdown. They aren't included with the sandwich; they are $5 extra. For that price, I would have expected fresh-cut, but they were obviously pre-packaged frozen and had no taste. They were also cold. I have an issue paying $5 for fries that aren't freshly-made and taste like McCain's. I likely won't be returning for this reason.More

Stopped at the Lanc after being away from the area for several years. First walked in it felt like the same old atmosphere. We were ready for some BBQ!!! After the server took our drink order ( ginger ale and coffee) she seemed to loose...interest in our table. After 6 minutes, she came back and took our food order. Pulled pork, brisket, smokered wings, fries and beans and a piece of corn bread. The fries were hot and with the right amount of salt, became delicious. The wings were quite tasty as well. After that... it was down hill. Beans were barely warm as was the brisket. The pulled pork flavor came solely from the sauce we put on it. The server was more interested in the table full of guys drinking beer than to ask how our food was. After eating what we could I decided that the corn bread was going to be my dessert. Again, disappointment. It's tasted more like a Betty Crocker box cake instead of corn bread. Definately no return trip in the near future planned. If you guys wanna keep your doors open I suggest a bit better food and service would be in order.More

The only vegetarian things are appetizers, like fries nachos and a salad. A BBQ place is not the wisest choice.
