Overall our family dinner for my wife's 60th birthday was very good. The appetizers were all excellent. The octopus, scallops, ginger chili pork/shrimp dumplings, calamari and Ceasar salad were highlights of the meal. The flat iron steaks and burger were good. The other mains were...just okay. (pizza, arctic char, pasta) Desserts were also excellent (creme brulee, lemon cheesecake and sorbet trio). Very good service and food acknowledgement of the birthday. Tables seem a little close but good Covid protocols otherwise.More

Just had lunch there with my daughter, and we were both blown away by the amazing, flavourful and beautifully presented food. Great service too. Will definitely eat at this restaurant again. Highly recommended.

It was my husband's birthday and I needed something special as a takeout meal. I decided to give Janet Lynns a try. I arrived only a few minutes before my selected pickup time and was happy to observe the chef carefully finishing off my meal...and packing it just in time for pickup. The front house staff that I chatted with on the phone to order my meal and while I waited were both very friendly. My husband and I are still talking about the rack of lamb. I do not like lamb (or I thought I didn't like lamb) but this was out of this world. Every part of the meal was delicious, from the sauces, to the vegetables (crisp, flavourful), and also the purees. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our appetizers and main courses. Thank you Janet Lynns Bistro for giving my husband a memorable birthday meal. It's such a struggle for restaurants during these COVID19 times, but JLB maintains its excellence in service, beautiful delicious food, and fine wine selection. Recently we had a small group and ordered multiples of every one of their delightful appetizers and shared them as tapas....Other times my wife and I have dined there in recent weeks and had the more traditional appetizer and main course. Always delicious and creative. Great service. For a reasonable corkage fee, bring your own wine too. Best in town.More

On a Valentine Day lunch we overindulged and had appetizers and a main + a desert each. This does bring the bill up to an 'evening' meal price for sure, an expensive one. Smoked Salmon and Scallops were wonderful as were the mains. Pecan tart...very good. For a special treat it's an excellent dining room. This upscale restaurant serves quality dishes with lovely presentation in a timely manner. Our server seemed disinterested when he rambled off the specials for the evening but his service and attention improved over the progression of the meal. The resto has a partially open kitchen...which is cool to observe and the interior of the restaurant is warm and inviting with brick walls, wood-planked ceiling and white tablecloths but the tv screen showing sports above the bar kinda ruined the upscale ambience. Free parking. Reservations recommended. The teas were also worth noting -- superb tasting with the meal -- and from the tea shop a few doors over.More

Warm greetings at the door, tables not too close together, smart, efficient waitress. It was an excellent evening. I had the seafood pasta with lots of big fat shrimp and my not too hungry husband had the pizza piled with prosciutto. I only had one...glass of wine ($14.50, my only blink, a little high for 6 ounces) my husband doesn’t drink but that didn’t mean we didactic get lots of attention. We had a party of 10 for lunch...order 2 of everything off of the app menu...every dish was perfectly prepared and stunningly plated. The flavours were incredible! We also ordered mains, which we all agreed were unique and delicious! great beer and wine selection. Food...prepared and served as it should be...damn delicious!More

I always take my colleagues from Toronto to JLB for business lunches and I am always satisfied and pleased that my colleagues thought this restaurant is as good as the good restaurants in TO. My husband and I had lunch at JLB on Friday leading...to the Labour day long weekend and the service, food and ambiance were phenomenal. I had the beef tartare for appetizer and the beef liver for entree and I felt like I was in some French bistro off the Sienna river in Paris. Very proud that KW has a restaurant that serves adventurous food (to some) with first class service. Good Job JLB !!More

Had dinner with a group of friends to celebrate two birthdays. The food was great, there was something for everyone in our group (including gluten free needs and several different eating styles). The service was wonderful, attentive and helpful and we never felt rushed. I...had a fun evening and would definitely consider going back another time.More

This is the second time my husband and I have been there and have nothing but wonderful things to say. The service is bang on. The food is exceptional.
