Absolutely the worst time I have had in a restaurant. After sitting for an hour we had only been given water. That was only because we complained about having no contact with a server for half an hour. When the server did show up and...was questioned about that, she turned away and said she'll get us another server. 5 minutes later a fellow shows up to take our order. 10 minutes later he brought water, and that was the last human contact we had. We had all ordered soup as our starter, but none came. When we asked to speak with a manager about our experience so far, the same person who declined to take our order showed up. Guaranteed that our soup would be on our table in 3 minutes. 5 minutes later we left.More

This is the first time I have ever written on this site. We went to order take out. The girl taking my order was so rude. I placed my order and she asked me what sides I would like, but didn’t tell me what they...were. I had my credit card in my hand and am one of those people that talksI with their hands. I guess she didn’t like that. When given the credit card reader I didn’t know how to do the machine. I didn’t want to give a tip as we were doing takeout. I asked for help and said I didn’t want to give a tip. She changed the machine and almost threw it at me. I don’t understand the machine that as they give it to you it is on the tip screen. I believe in tips for sure and would never not tip if I had eaten in but I had takeout. They changed the person doing your order at the window. I think that I don’t need someone almost throwing a machine at me because I didn’t want to leave a tip. I will NOT be going there for take out again. That is the only way I order from them. The food is expensive in the first place. The food was good when I did eat it.More

Gemma and I thoroughly enjoyed our schnitzel lunches yesterday - my meal was done to perfection - I substituted chicken for pork for a $2.50 surcharge, I ordered 2 similar takeouts for my family in Toronto which were also thoroughly enjoyed. Stephen (Front Desk/Waiter) was...awesome! We also recommend the perogies and apple strudel - this was our first time - I am sure that there's lots more delicious fare to try but, regrettably, we live 90 kms. away inToronto... We ordered on line and paid $80.00 for the two of us. We paid 7.00 each for goulash soup and we’re lucky if we got a ladle of soup. The Cesar salad maybe 4 forks of salad. Taste is good but value is not good.

Forgot about this little gem until a local food critic did an article in the local paper. He nailed it. the food was outstanding. One can choose from 16 different schnitzels. (I didn't know there were that many choices) . We had the Combination Plates...for two which included Vienna Schnitzel, 4 perogies, cabbage rolls with a thick mushroom gravy and a choice of potatoes, Included was our caesar salad with garlic bread. We even got a chuckle out of the beverage list. The coffee was listed under the non-alcoholic beverages with the note that said "all refills on the veveages are charged extra". Nice little chuckle. Service was also great and our Hostess was very pleasant. Would go back again.More

I would recommend your restaurant to my acquaintances. The taste of the food was just out of the world. Once again, big thanks to you and your staff for making our work day more distinctive.

This place has been around for years but is not the same as the past owners standards for sure, still good food with a little less flair.

Haven’t ordered from the Metro before , and it was delicious. The schnitzel is a good size, tasty, and meaty. The mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots all had a home made flavour. My dinner companion had the red cabbage and home fries, superb. Totally recommend this...restaurant. It was ready on time, order process was simple.More

Ordered 3 meals yesterday. When I arrived at the pickup time 1 hour later was told they were just going to call me as they were out of one of the selections. Re-ordered new selection and waited. The order was for 2 soups and 1...caesar salad. received one half soup and 3 caesar salads. Also asked for coleslaw and got red cabbage instead. One combo was short the sausage but it was on the bill. Very disappointed.More

Living downtown Kitchener for 20 years and finally decided to try Metro when family came to town. We had a pretty large and expensive take out order (almost $200). The food was plentiful and very good. The perogies were ok. My nieces ordered them as...her meal. The menu:Cheese Perogies (Deep Fried) Stuffed with cream cheese and potato. Topped with fried onions. Served with mashed potatoes and red cabbage. They arrived without the fried onions. I called the restaurant to explain they were forgotten. Person on the phone said that they don't do fried onions on them anymore because so may people complained of onion allergies. She said that they had fixed the menu. I explained that I was looking at the menu and it was still on the menu. "Was that all?" "Yes, you should change the online order....'' "I'll take care of it - is that all?" "Yes...." "Goodbye" For 1st timers, her treatment was pretty rude. Don't know if I would return based on her treatment of me.More

We met our sister in law's family at the Metro for an outdoor patio dinner. The new setup with picnic tables with lots of spacing, some under tents worked great. Takeout is also an option, but it is so much better to eat their delicious...schnitzels fresh at the table. With a huge variety of schnitzel (pork and chicken), this is our go to place for family celebrations. The schnitzels, soup and sides were as excellent as ever.More

On our way home we drove via Kitchener & wanted to stop for a quick bite at a German restaurant. Google located Metro restaurant for us & we stopped there. Despite its outdated decor that has its cozy feel, food & service were pretty good....We had goulash soup, schnitzel & crepe with tea. Everything was tasty. We were not disappointed.More
