About
European Inspired. Windmill continues its long standing tradition of creating authentic, tasty baked goods. Windmill Bakery was started in 1976 by Ton Struyk, a Dutch immigrant. Dan and Grace have found great joy in learning new things and experimenting with creating great products to supplement the already strong offerings. Running a bakery has allowed them to pursue the dream of training and equipping local young people in the valuable skill of baking. Creating baked products reflect artisanal skill that are high in nutritional value that reflect the quality ingredients used in their making. Outstanding breakfast and lunch options are also available and a small menu caters to gluten-free or other dietary sensitivities. Windmill Bakery & Bistro is open Tues - Fri 7 - 5pm Sat 7 - 3pm Open Sundays Canada Day to Labour Day (July - Aug)

My friend and I stopped in one afternoon. What a busy place with lots of people buying bread. We had florentines and a chocolate covered, chocolate brownie (with a crunchy layer) and tea. Delicious brownie, the best ever and the florentines were delicate and great. So easy to eat more than 1 florentine. Some tables available inside to sit at. Staff was good.

We looked for a cafe on trip advisor. This one was highly rated so we thought to give it a try. We are very glad to have discovered it. Very courteous staff, delicious bakery and nice hot tea. We sat outside and enjoyed every bit of the outing. I will come back again. Cheers

Fantastic bakery in cottage country. Premium quality food and lovely staff. Definitely a top location for a weekend in Huntsville or for locals too. Can’t recommend highly enough! Doughnuts and meat pies are amazing.

$3 for the saddest looking butter tart in Canada. Windmill - what happened?
The pastry shell is such uneven thickness, there’s a hole in one side. Not to worry - the filling only goes up about 1/4 of the way up, so no chance of spilling over.
I’ve never left a review before. Just had to. If the pastries are coming out this badly, you shouldn’t be selling them. And you definitely shouldn’t be shoving them into covered boxes, knowing the customers won’t look at it until they get home (and probably won’t go to the trouble of returning it by that time). Not cool. Treat your customers better.

Windmill Bakery has moved into their own premises that they own. The treats are still decadent and delicious and they also have a bistro now. They are looking to expand again and it is no wonder.

Spent about half hour looking around the store. They had a lot of delectable goodies on display as well as other items. There is a small area at the front with small tables and chairs to sit and eat your treats and drink your coffee etc. Will definitely go back there as well.

Very unique and diverse selection of freshly made baked goods that will satisfy any international palette.
I bought 15 different things. So far, everything tastes great. The sausage roll and cheddar scone are amazing.
