HOW IT STARTED… In 2013 local Huntsville moms Julie Moore and Tina Hamilton opened up their very first chip truck called MUSKOKA MAMAS in the heart of Huntsville. The main focus was to sell the local community fresh-cut fries and Quebec style poutines while also cooking only 2 patties at a time on a small George Forman grill. FAST FORWARD TO 2016 By popular demand, Julie Moore brought back the little cart that started it all, along with a bigger grill to cook even more burgers! She explored her horizons and brought back the classic burgers and fries then becoming what is now known as SMOKIN’ HOT BBQ. What began as a small fry wagon, evolved into a bigger family-owned business with her husband Larry Moore, son and daughters Michael, Andrea and Merrissa Moore, along with various other family members and friends. I hired Smokin' Hot BBQ to cater my wedding this past September and everything was amazing. Communication with Angela was quick and super clear. They were able to come the day before the wedding to drop off their equipment and on the day of they arrived on time and with LOTS of food. Everyone at the wedding loved the food and Smokin Hot packaged up the left overs so we could eat the yummy food for days to come. I also paid for a bartender for the wedding and she was so great and accommodating to all our drink requests. Best value for food, service and money in Muskoka for sure!

More than a chip truck now, Smokin Hot BBQ is operating outdoors at Huntsville Train Station. The setting is very cool, with live music, great bbq grub and freshly made lemonade and iced tea. This was a great find and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

You may not believe this story. I still don’t.
We had picked up bbq twice during the previous month and were delighted so on our last night of our 5 week holiday (and my wife’s birthday) we decided to celebrate with bbq.
I called ahead to order but they said they had plenty of food so no need to order in advance.
When I got there 20 minutes later they were out of turkey (which is what my wife wanted) so I left empty and disappointed.
Shortly afterwards my phone rand. It was someone from the bbq who apologized and said they found some turkey and they would deliver it and there would be NO CHARGE for the meal.
I have never heard of this kind of service in my life.
Fast forward. The food came within 30 minutes: ribs, brisket, wings and turkey. All fabulous!
I love this place and I love the staff.

We paid for our food and had to wait 45 minutes before they decided to tell us that the majority of our order was not available. Only 1/3 of the order would be possible which would not feed the family. Their actions were poor and disorganized. I would recommend going next door to the restaurant Two Guys and a Stove were we have gone several times and they always have enough food possible.

Our staff works very hard, especially in the high temperatures of this past weekend. We do not appreciate staff being abused verbally or physically.

A google search for “Chip Trucks near Huntsville” put us onto Smokin’ Hot BBQ. What an exciting and phenomenal find! It is literally a 5 min. drive off hwy 11, on the shores of picturesque Fairy Lake. The service was super friendly and they are incredibly organized! The smell of all the meat smoking was incredible. The food came up quickly, it was piping hot and best of all tasted out of this world! The large poutine, we shared, was so outstanding and the quantity more than my husband and I could finish, in combination with a beautifully smoked delicious Turkey sandwich which we also shared. We will make this our go-to lunch stop in Huntsville.

Located just off Hwy 60, expectations of a normal chip stand are quickly exceeded. The smell of meat slow cooking and burgers grilling over hardwood coals tells you that you are in for a special treat.
Friendly staff answer all of your questions about the menu.
Burgers are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - as burgers are intended to be.
Let the masses go to the big burger joints. I'll see you at Smokin

I can’t wait until they are open again. You can’t get a better homemade BBQ burger done on hardwood for the price you pay. Along with there homemade French fries. You get so much food you will leave very full.

My family were visiting Arrowhead provincial park recently and we stumbled upon this place. My wife and I came back to the Huntsville area and our first stop was lunch here. I’ve been making and eating more and more bbq recently and the food at this place was fantastic. We ordered brisket, 1/2 ribs, small poutine and corn. Everything we had was delicious. Brisket was tender, flavourful and definitely did not need sauce. The ribs were meaty, smoky and juicy, the poutine was the best I’ve had and the corn was really good. If you like bbq or want to try really good bbq, this is a place to make a stop to even if it’s a bit out of your way.

We actually ended up here by accident. The restaurant we wanted to go to for dinner was full and as we walked out, we noticed a huge line here. The smell of the BBQ is amazing! The burgers are some of the best we have every had. My daughter had the poutine and said it was so delish! The wait for food is a bit long as they grill everything fresh but totally worth the wait!

For years this place served the best burgers around, cooked over real hardwood! I now have to say the newer additions to the menu are awesome too! Loved the ribs! Wow! Meaty fall off the bone ribs! So yummy! Poutine has always been great too. They use Quebec curds. Squeek! Didn't have a shake this visit but last year the strawberry shake was very good!
Awesome owners! Looking forward to my next visit.

Great food . The ribs were the best . we got ribs and brisket for two . the coleslaw was great and so was the corn bread . We only got 1 small corn bread ,next time i would order 2. We will go back and try the burgers, They looked good

A few friends and myself were staying at a cottage in Huntsville. Smokin’ Hit Chip Truck was one of the highlights of our trip. The environment was extremely welcoming and the food was amazing. Definitely come prepared to eat because there’s a lot of food; the poutine is spectacular. When I’m back in the area, I’ll definitely be stopping by again.

Excellent food and great service! We have been here a few times now and the brisket is out of this world! My hubby loves the burgers too...and the fries! The pulled pork is awesome too! Can’t say enough about the food here, you will not be disappointed! One of these day we will try the ribs that look delicious! I just can’t pass on the brisket if it’s available. Highly recommend this place!

We were in Huntsville for the weekend and stopped here for a late lunch on our way home. If we lived closer, we would come all the time. The food was delish! We had burgers My, fries and corn on the cob. My kids loved the saddle stools. The view is pretty. The staff were friendly.

I am trying all local food trucks and res on the hunt for the best poutine.
So far this is on the list at number 1 with algonquin cafe in spot 2. have tried about 10 now. I think some of the poor reviews on this place just come from when they are really busy so if its not swapped you should have a great visit.
