Norsemen is a resort on Walker Lake about 5 min from Hwy 60 and about 10min out of town on Hwy 60. The resort has been there for years. The food was good a couple of years ago and it's maintained it's quality under the...More

This is out in the woods in cottage country but meets its aim of fine dining. They have menu items across a range of prices, since I imagine not everyone wants to spend big city prices while at the cottage, but their higher end entrees...More

I must honestly say that my expectations were quite low as the trip advisor comments are all over the place. We celebrated a wonderful evening with friends. The menu is a little hard to work through as the ingredient lists are a little deceiving. The...More

We have enjoyed going to the Norsemen for a few year's now and were surprised to hear it was now under new management. We pleased to find out that standards had not changed and both the service (by Cindy) and the food was as good...More

We came here on the recommendation from Gayle (the owner of the B&B we stayed at just down the road called Algonquin mists - which is amazing) and it certainly didn't disappoint. The staff are friendly and accommodating as we had to change our reservation...More

This restaurant is out-of-the-way. You cannot walk from most hotels in the area. We had a family meal there and my coconut-curry vegetarian dish was just awful. I had expected a nice Thai curry (most common with coconut) and was surprised by and Indian curry....More

Beautiful spot in the woods by the lake. The food was of a very high quality but the service didn't match the food. The waitress was friendly and apologetic when the mains took over an hour. We were told that one of the deserts that...More

An somewhat old and kitsch interior but quiet and rustic so kinda nice. Our food and wine however was under par for the price. The daily catch + risotto was ok (but salty). The wild boar chop was small and dry/chewy.

This restaurant is off the beaten path from Huntsville, but well worth the Drive. It's a very cozy place, the tables are well set up and the chairs are very comfortable. It's a very inviting place on the side of a lake. The food was...More

I had not been back to this fine dining place in the middle of the woods for 35 years. I was delighted to find that it was still an excellent bistro, with trout to die for. The prices are not cheap for Muskoka, but not...More

Description
The Norsemen Restaurant is Muskoka's ultimate Bistro, with casual dining and "Old Muskoka" charm. Treat yourself to outstanding game, seafood and steak. We also have delicious vegetarian and gluten free selections. The Norsemen has a reputation for great food and great times.Whether nibbling before a stone fireplace in the dining room or out on the screened-in porch, delight in a diverse menu beginning with appetite-enhancers like Salad Nicoise or Arancini. Inhale the savoury Rack of Venison, perfectly cooked Beef Tenderloin, or fresh Pickerel, considered relaxation-enhancing substances in six provinces. Stretch the languorous evening further by swaddling appetites in decadent desserts like our Rich Flourless Chocolate Cake, or Bora Bora Creme Brulle, which performs its tongue ballet in tandem with lemon curd and drizzled with a sour blueberry coulis. Finish off perfectly with a cappuccino encore.(Please note the chefs changes the menu whenever he feels like it, so some items mentioned may not be available all the time)
