Our favorite go to place

We go to the Fish Bar at least once a week. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I've read some of these reviews and must disagree, we are always served promptly and the food has never disappointed. My go to orders are the seafood chowder, calamari and the beet salad. My husband usually goes for either the Fish and chips or the wings. They have the best entertainment in town with a large dance floor that is always hopping.

Exceptional Experience

What an amazing experience! Thank you so much Adam and Lisa for making our family dinner such memorable; more so as we were celebrating our son's birthday. The welcome, the greeting, the food, the presentation, the staff....absolutely everything was top notch. The food was so delicious that we can actually travel 2.5hrs just to experience it again. Adam kept the kids involved; had such a pleasant atmosphere, such soothing ambience and he kept holding conversations with kids to make them feel valued. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone from every aspect. Thank you for such an amazing service.

Covid compliant, good food and very good service

Went for lunch with our grand daughter one day. Food was very good and the service was top drawer. Liked it so much we went back the next day with our daughter and grand daughter. Same result. Portions are generous, which we learned on the first day, so my wife and I split the fish and chips on the second day. They strictly enforced the Covid rules, even making a group of 6 decide if they wanted to sit 4 and 2 or 3 and 3. Even then the tables were socially distant and barricaded by plexiglass.

The food in general was very good, friendly staff but you can tell their missing a few staffs because service was very long. The appetizers, scallop in bacon was way over price for only 3 of them for $19.00 and they were overcook. But if you want good fish, i still recommend this place

Decent with an under whelming menu and small dining area. Still good though!!

I like the idea of this place. The sign is awesome and when I walked in I was expecting something different. The dining area seemed small to me and the amount of seafood offered did not align with my expectations for a Fish Bar. I thought the food was pretty good but a tad over priced. The service was fantastic as the staff had smiling faces, were very attentive, friendly and professional. Circling back to my earlier comment, I just can't get my head around how limited the seafood options were here. I would most definitely return but with recalibrated expecations. I think this spot could be fun for a night life/bar after dinner hours experience.

Nice patio

Although the patio is in the parking lot on the street it has a nice ambience with the umbrellas and flower boxes. Nice selection of beer, the waitir gives you the choices. We enjoyed our meals, seafood chowder was more a fish chowder but tasty. Halibut was delicious, light crisp batter. Excellent service, we will return.

A good start

First day of vacation, a hot Friday night in June, stopped at the Fish Bar for a quick bite. I ordered Haddock and chips with a cold Stella. Everything was awesome, couldn’t finish all the fresh cut fries. My wife ordered the mussels in white wine sauce, again good flavour. Serving staff were exceptional. Exceeded my expectations.

SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER

This restaurant is in a great location in Collingwood. Great outdoor patio. Servers very pleasant and welcoming. The band last night was terrific and they really know how to work the crowd. Great music as well! Now for the food - Halibut fish was good. Catfish was not tasty at all. Just fish covered with batter no spices at all. The portion of french fries is huge but taste horrible. Give less fries but make sure they are tasty!! Don't order the poutine. The tasteless fries with roast gravy! What happened to poutine gravy!!! How can you make tasteless fries!!! The chef needs to take a little more time in the preparation of the meals. Not sure we will return soon ... Sad!!

Good Food, Sit Outside

We met a friend there for supper one evening. Their outside sitting is very nice and "socially distanced". The service was good, but could have been a little more attentive. The food was very good. Two of had fish tacos and one has Halibut and chips. Nice atmosphere. There was music inside starting after we arrived. If we'd been inside there would have been a $10/person charge, which I think is a bit much, but being outside we weren't charged that. Plus, based on the sound when the door opened, we wouldn't have been able to talk if inside while the music was on.

Large Portions, Excellent Fish, Friendly Service

We had the cod and chips for takeout. The portions are large and could feed two people. Great having the take out condiments in a separate box. Well packaged. With Covid everyone was wearing masks. The only improvement I would add would be to put the coleslaw in a separate container outside of the fish and chips, as the heat from the fish and chips caused them to be very warm and not edible.

I CURSED THIS PLACE

the worst place ever. waited 2 hours for our freaking food. not once did the server come to our table to update us on what tf was going on. literally avoided our table. 1.5 hours in still waiting she comes and says she promises our food is next up to be brought out. also, tnx to collingwood's greatest taxi service, we were on a tight sched and knowing everything takes a century in this place we asked for our bills when we got our food. when paying, asked to speak to a manager the server says theres no one we can talk to because everyone is in the back. speechless.

Good food and great service

This restaurant is in a parade near Cranberry Mews on the outskirts of Collingwood. We went and were not expecting that much but were surprised. Great waitress who told us what which fish were available and made good recommendations. We had either haddock or cod and everyone was satisfied and full. No band on when we were there but when next visiting my son, we will go here again. Better than most of the downtown Collingwood restaurants

Four of us went to lunch

Couldn't get seating at Fish N Sips so tried here, and we are glad we did.We had very good table service, very accomodating. Food was excellent, good portions, fish tased very fresh. There is absolutely nothing negative any of us could say. A very good first experience.

Food was good..service was alright...not enough staff

We visited for dinner last night. My burger was great and cousins pasta was also good. Couldn’t help notice that people who came in after us got dinner before us. Not waiter’s fault as it was full o patio and he was the only one working outside. Inside was closed due to COVID. I hope this improves when inside dining starts on Friday. Waiter was competent and friendly...just overworked.

Great Food, Great Service

Went in 2 days before the lockout to try and spend some $$ locally. Had 2 new waiters that were on their first day. They were great and very attentive. We had a couple of beers and the fish tacos. Wow they were great !! Everything was excellent. We upgraded to salad and they told us the cost. Once the salad came there was not enough dressing so I asked for more. The bill added .50 . Why do they do this on a $100. Bill??? Great dinner but I don't expect little charges.
