Northwinds Brewhouse & Kitchen captures the adventurous spirit of our surrounding area by creating globally inspired hand crafted beer paired with innovative, locally sourced and seasonally focused menu.
My husband and I had supper here while in Collingwood. It is a brewhouse and there were many types of beer to choose from. The tables were separated as to Covid rules. Our server was very pleasant and punctual. We both ordered a pint of...their craft beer and ordered from the menu. I had the fish and chips. The portion of fish was quite large and I opted for a salad instead of fries. My husband had a burger and fries. It was a lovely meal but I feel a bit over priced for what we had.
I would recommend this brewhouse to anyone who enjoys great beer and food.More
I already knew this was not a “fine dining” restaurant but I did not expect how delicious it would be.
Our welcome was friendly and inviting. The fries, cooked in duck fat, were the best I’ve ever eaten in 60+ years. The chicken wings were...juicy and cooked perfectly. The lettuce leaf tuna wraps were tasty and fresh.
Our server came by a few times and made suggestions and was friendly but not invasive.
Try this one out — i am so pleased I did and I’ll be back again.More
We were very impressed with the covid protocols & felt very safe eating indoors. The tables were well spaced and they asked everyone for proof of vaccination & ID at the entrance. They had windows & doors open wherever possible. My husband & I shared...the pretzel bites: very tasty, piping hot and plentiful. I had the pulled pork mac & cheese which was also very good and very filling. I took home half of it for lunch the next day. My husband had the smash burger and fries - he cleaned his plate.More
My wife and I attempted to go to the Blue Mountain Location but it was ridiculously busy, so we opted to go to the Collingwood location about 10 minutes down the road.
We were very happy that we decided to stick with it, we both...had a flight of beer, and we split the Pretzel Balls with Beer Cheese and the Salt & Pepper wings.
The beer was absolutely delicious, we would both highly recommend the Strawberry Rhubarb sour beer as it was absolutely fantastic.
The pretzel balls were fantastic, so warm and perfectly salted. And the beer cheese was just the perfect thickness, so delicious. The wings were also fantastic, just perfectly crisp, and there was a home made ranch that came with it that had a little bit of zing to it but very good.
All in all I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a little place to have a snack and some beer.

Mid afternoon on a Sunday. Very friendly staff. Two salads ordered, both of which were ok, small portions, lettuce was not cold. Eight bbq wings ordered, VERY SMALL for $16.00. Would not recommend for these reasons. For a tourist town with a lot of competition...I would suggest to offer food to entice people to return.More
Us three girls had Summer Street Tacos ,fish and chicken tacos and Steam Bun. But the star was the Duck Fat Fries. Sooo delicious. Made me wish I had tried the Wings done in the duck fat. They made two cocktails that had to be...sent back. Guess we should have stuck to beer.LOL Overall a good experience.More
My wife & I usually go here with our son and his family whenever we visit them and it has usually been quite satisfactory.
Service has always been very friendly and accommodating and that was true today.
Normally the beer on offer is an interesting,...eclectic selection and that also held true today.
The food, however, was a different matter altogether. It is not an understatement to say that not one of us thought our food was much more than barely passable.
My wife and daughter-in-law's chicken nachos had lots of chips but not much chicken. (Neither ate their plate and they got a take-out box to have the chips at home later with something else.)
Perhaps the kitchen was saving its chicken supply for the daily special, which was fried chicken and didn't look bad when we saw it taken to another table.
My son's hamburger was "Ok, but sloppy", i.e., there was a lot of sauce and stuff but not enough substance.
The chips in my fish and chips were, in fact, better than on any of our previous visits.
The fish, however, was the absolute worst I have had in over fifty years in many, many places. The batter looked permeated in grease/cooking oil and the piece on my plate was just one shade lighter than dark brown and one second short of being burnt on the outside. I like my fish firm, but the fish piece inside the batter today was chewy, almost the same consistency as well done steak.
My granddaughter's plate was better, but not much.
I should have sent my plate back to the kitchen after the first couple of bites but for whatever reason, today was not a day I felt like having an issue at our table. I should have but didn't. That is my own fault and my bad.
Another major issue: The restaurant had just opened for lunch, but the ladies' bathroom, while clean, was out of soap and one of the stalls was out of toilet paper.
Maybe these are all 'just-emerging-from-Covid' problems. But they suggest poor management and oversight.
And the bathroom issue is simply unacceptable sloppiness in a time when cleanliness and health are paramount concerns for most people.
If you are young, have a cast-iron stomach and are mostly interested in sitting and drinking with friends while watching sports on big screen televisions, these things may not bother you.
As for us, we will try someplace new next trip.More
We went with another couple. They had food for all of our dietary needs. They had a bunch of great beers to try. I can say the Fish and chips were good. Fries were sooo good. Found a new beer that I like, and I...think I bought the last 6 cans of the season. (Checkered Flag Blonde Stout). Jay was I server, I believe and he was great. Not hovering, but didn't make us wait either. Will definitely returnMore
