Four of us had dinner at The Iron Skillet 2 in Collingwood this evening and all of use enjoyed our meals, and the atmosphere. Two had the seafood crepes, very good; would order them again. One had chicken parmesjan and brought home the leftovers as very large serving. I had the trout with dill sauce special for Sunday evening and it was great, served with baked potato and vegetables, all cooked just the way I like them. The table behind us had the roast beef and yorkshire pudding special for Sunday evenings and it looked fantastic and didn't see any leftovers there. They only have first come seating on the weekends. We had no problem as we got there very soon after 5 pm. There were another 6-8 groups shortly after us. They offer call-ahead seating during the weekdays.

Lunch was outside due to COVID and we chose to sit close to the water at the last table on the side of the building. My wife had the "Skillet Burger" which was large and on a brioche bun with a side of fries. She enjoyed it. My Fish Tacos were also tasty and filling and came with Mexican rice but I have never had the fish in a taco fried. It's always been grilled, which I prefer, and what I do at home. I have no idea what kind of white fish is used and the server wasn't sure. A decent lunch for the price but still very surprised.

The friendly, efficient service was the most outstanding quality of the restaurant. We went with another couple and tried the New York steak, schnitzel and Yorkshire pudding and enjoyed the generous portions of good, home-style cooking. My one criticism would be that the food was a bit too salty for my tastes. There was a pleasant, informal atmosphere with a mural that gave us a view of Collingwood Harbour when the grain ships were still visiting. The house wine was very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to test more of the extensive menu.

I made a reservation online. We sat in an impromptu patio, on the grass at the side of the restaurant. They were only about three tables outside that were filled. It took a long time to get our order! At least 40 minutes after ordering. I had a big portion of chicken Schnitze. It was good. One of my daughters had steak and she liked it. The other had penne and she said it was OK. My husband had jambalaya and he didn’t like the sausages and he said it was more like hotdogs. The waiter was efficient . My two concerns were restroom policy and bill payment. When I needed to use the bathroom I was told to wait in the hall. Only one person was to use the bathroom at a time. That’s fine. However, The people dining inside had different rules! I went in then another woman came in and another woman came in that wasn’t wearing her mask. If you should have rules it should be for everyone to follow not just the people on the patio! My biggest complaint was with the bill. The waiter brought the bill and then standing right there with the machine he said are you leaving a tip? I have to punch in the amount because you can’t use the machine?!!! I’ve dined out a number of times. Even at Costco over $200 you need to use the machine. Get a Lysol wipe! You shouldn’t have someone hovering over you right away put you on the spot about how much tip you’re leaving. That really irked me!

Arrived around 7pm and was seated within 5 minutes which was impressive as they we’re getting quite busy. Server was attentive and very efficient. Our meals arrived quickly and hot. We were amazed at the portion sizes. The Seafood Schnitzel tasted wonderful!! The schnitzel was the size of the dinner plate. My partner had Pad Thai and it was equally generous in portioning, with some slight heat and tasted delicious! Wish I had taken some pictures of our entrées. I did remember to take a picture of dessert Funnel Poutine! Funnel cake shaped like fries drizzled with caramel sauce and shavings of cheesecake with a side of strawberry sauce!! Simply scrumptious! Perfect for sharing. 10/10 experience will definitely be back!!!!

Our team came to Collingwood for a hockey tournament the Halloween weekend. I had made a reservation at Iron Skillet weeks before and they were amazingly able to accommodate 40 people for a dinner service on a Saturday. The manager Stacy was great and provided our group with our menu ahead of time so our ordering would be a bit smoother for the wait staff. The two that were in charge of our large group ( of kids and adults) were awesome. They were efficient and accurate. They were attentive and even acknowledged the kids requests. Highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Collingwood in small and large groups. Great place to eat ( huge portion sizes) and unwind.

The restaurant was cozy and family friendly with a tv that allowed us to watch sports. The food was fantastic, with a very interesting assortment of menu items. We had the highly recommended seafood paella which was excellent. We also had the chicken enchiladas which came with a caesar salad and seasoned rice and beans. The enchiladas had wonderful seasoning and taco spice flavour. We look forward to trying more menu items. Highly recommend!

This place is supposed to be known for its Eggs Benedict. It was by far, the worst I’ve ever had. The English muffins weren’t even toasted, the eggs were hard boiled. Zero liquid yoke. The sauce was congealed on top of it all. I was supposed to receive grilled tomatoes on the side…I got 3 slices of cold tomatoes. The service was good and the rest of the meals seemed ok. That’s about it.

I’m very sorry about this and will let my kitchen know. We are known for the Eggs Benedict as we make our sauce from scratch. Not from a package. I wish you had let me know when you were in the restaurant and we could have replaced the order. Thank you for letting me know.

Sat on the patio in parking lot as a family of four. Wasn't brought a kids menu but server told us we could get kids chicken fingers. Also got a wrap, shrimp and streak fajitas. Food was alright and serving size was okay but took a fair amount of time to be served even though it was not busy. I would recommend walking to back of building and checking out the view. Server was nice.

The website says if they have it, they will cook it. I called to order eggs for dinner. They stated breakfast stops at 2 pm. I stated what the web site said. There response was they were not going to make eggs. During covid I thought they would want the business. Eggs are not hard to make. We ordered other food which was just awful. There are other restaurants in Collingwood that are great and deserve your business.

A Collingwood establishment we tried on April 1 (no April fool's review) and were soooo impressed we'll be back. Service was prompt and pleasant. The adults had beef ribs with fresh vegetables and mashed potato and one had chicken fajitas. The ribs were perfectly cooked, the beef fell off the bones and melted in our mouths. The fajitas were equally delectable and served in large portions. Their children's menu was fantastic, wide and varied. Our 8 year old was busy doing the puzzles from the Minions box when her Caesar salad and steak and fries arrived. She loved both the salad and the steak, but kept room for a large potion of toothsome chocolate cake. With a bottle of delicious Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand to top off the evening, we left happy and content. We definitely will return to enjoy another great meal at the Skillet.

My wife and I shared the Greek salad which was huge and excellent tasting. Unfortunately we could only finish 1/2 of it as our main meal arrived which was the seafood schnitzel which was amazing. We asked our server "Ken" to have our meal split as we are no longer big eaters. Our split meals were huge too and we could not believe one person could eat the whole meal themselves. The vegetables were perfectly cooked as was the mashed potatoes and of course the schnitzel. My wife could only finished 1/2 of her split meal however I managed to finished 3/4 of my meal. Our server Ken was very knowledgeable on all the menu items and was one of the nicest servers we have ever had. We will definitely eat at the Iron Skillet again when in Collingwood.

Our meals where not very good at all ! We had two Yorkie dinners and they were horrible ! The roast beef was tough and rubbery and tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for a few days before being used in this dish. It was definitely not fresh at all. We also had a concoction of shredded red cabbage that I believe had cinnamon in it , again horrible. The Yorkshire pudding itself was almost on the burnt side on the outer shell. Sooooo disappointed I had bragged about Iron Skillet being a quality restaurant . I really am sorry this review is very negative but it was a real disappointment. This is the second time I have been there this month. The first time it was lunch and again it was horrible. Don’t think I will be returning anytime soon as there are many other restaurants to go to .

While on lunch with my wife waitress asked how was food she served us a minute prior. Hearing one of the dishes was too salty for our liking she insisted we try another selection. She was so nice about it and polite that all we could talk about after lunch was how good we were made to feel and not the complaint. All our selections were served hot and portions generous. We will be coming back.
