We had read good things so wanted to try this restaurant while in Brockville. A lovely patio setting with low music and patio lights helped set the stage. I chose the Ontario pork entree and my wife got the Indo Bowl story - both were very good, particularly the pork. Be aware that portions are large, so maybe skip the appetizer or dessert. Service was a bit uneven, but very friendly and may be due in part to adapting to the patio only service due to Covid. A better selection of wines by the glass would be welcome, but a great meal and atmosphere!

My wife and I visited this charming bistro twice in two weeks and loved it. Each time we went for the specials. We made the right picks. The first time, we tried the Mussells Cardinal and the pork. Both were excellent. Tasty and good size portions. For the second visit, we started with the warmed brie cheese with apple/strawberry marmalade appetizer. It was good but the cheese was a bit tough. My wife repeated the mussels for her main meal and I had the herb chicken. This chicken was a bit overspiced but still quite good. The ambiance was wonderful. There are several rooms giving it an old-world feel. I love the room with the fireplace. Our server Mica(spelling?) was nothing short of awesome. We will certainly return and look forward to their next daily special.

I’ve been missing my long time love, the Buell St Bistro and their amazing patio lunches since the pandemic started. But enough was enough. I craved Chef Marc and lovely Linda’s impeccable French food and gave their number a call. Within seconds Linda and I fell into our familiar chit chat and I felt right at home again. Inspired by local radio personality Bruce Wylie’s oft repeated rave reviews, I ordered the Indonesian Curry Plate Stir Fry. Linda suggested a salad and boom the mood was set and I obsessively watched the clock tick until our predetermined time for pickup was nigh. Arriving at the door I saw other eager dinners lined up for both reservations inside and more takeout. Everyone was excited and unusual for these times, in convivial spirits, while the flow of activity in and out began. I saw several friends leave with food, line up behind me. And I made some new friends along the way. Eavesdropping I heard sone out-of-towners comment on their highly recommended dining choice and honestly it was the best few minutes standing in a line I’ve ever experienced. When I got home I was, of course, thrilled by the smell, appearance and ultimately the tastes of my meal. I cannot recommend the Buell St Bistro any higher. Go. Enjoy. Repeat.

The service was very good but took a long time to get our meal, the kitchen was overwhelmed. I don't mind paying $$$ for a nice and tasty meal. All the menu items were overpriced for what we received. The meals we received were average, veggies were nearly raw, Salmon was overwhelmed with pesto sauce, the soup was terrible, drinks were missing ingredients, overpriced, and not acceptable.

The physical property is pleasant enough and clean. The menu is somewhat limited, however there are dearly presentations offered. That being said, for the quality of the meals presented the same are grossly overpriced. For example a simple bowl of mushroom soup that was anything but extraordinary was eight dollars. A stirfry (that was supposedly presented spicy) was basically a portion of rice with a few pieces of chicken, three shrimp and if you stop your vegetables, and for this the price was just under $30. Six dollars for a glass of climatic juice (with three dollars and a slice of lemon and lime) and $3.25 for a cup of coffee is, again, will be owned worth. We had to ask our server for water, and at no time did any of the staff combined ask if we needed more water or even offer to refill the glasses. When would be better served driving east to Kingston and trying Chez Piggy, for driving a little further in another direction and going to Brigadoon.

Wonderful lunch on the most charming garden patio anywhere. The weather was certainly a bonus but the food was amazing, small spinach salad with fruit and seeds, yummm and a single serving sausage quiche with delicious pastry. Will return for sure!! BTW music was also great, reminded me of being in Nova Scotia by the ocean. Can't wait to see what the winter menu will be if we are allowed to sit in side, hope so because it was a real treat!!!

I ordered ( for take out) the Beef Bourguignon. It came with a large multi vegetable salad , and the Beef dish had an arrangement of small tasty potatoes and vegetables.......enough for 2 people. Great taste ...great value. It was still piping hot when I got it home

Last August we visited Buell St Bistro and had a disappointing experience, but I believed that it was not a normal experience for this restaurant. After our second visit last week I wanted to share that Buell St Bistro completely redeemed itself. The food is reliably wonderful and the service was first class. I highly recommend Buell St for a special night out or a cozy meal with family. A+

We wanted this place to be great. There really is no guaranteed great dining places in Brockville. The ambiance in the outdoor patio is wonderful. But indoors of out the food is just okay at best. The steak was poor- tough and with a long seam of gristle that should have been trimmed away. Inexcusable in a restaurant professing quality. Other dishes- over two visits- were unremarkable. Salmon tasty enough but no 'wow1' Thermadore ditto. Staff friendly and attentive. Atmosphere pretty good, the food is the letdown. Pity. Afraid we won't be back

I understand that they may have been busy but the service was a bit slow. When we asked for a second bottle of wine to be put on ice we were told "I'll do it if I have time" which was a bit off-putting. We were seated at a large table in the middle of the room (we were 4) because our table wasn't ready yet. When it was we were asked to move and the hostess or manager (I guess) wasn't pleased but acquiesed when we reminded her that it was our originally booked table. So not the worst service I've ever had and the food was decent so you might want to give it a try although it would not be my first choice. The patio seems nice.

My guest and I had not been here for a while. We had meals that tasted even better than its appearance and they came with charming , attentive service. She had the Mediterranean Beet Salad , with the marinated chicken breast, and I had the special Pesto Salmon. The colourful vegetables on both our plates , were worth a photo , in any "food magazine". The only problem we had , was deciding which of the tempting desserts we would order to top off the meal. We chose the rasberry cheesecake...and it was "to die for". More than 20 years in business, and still delivering top quality meals , in a very relaxed dining room. WE will be back soon !

From the time we arrived at the door until we walked out, we were treated incredibly well Our server Emily) was attentive and friendly. Everyone who contributed to this meal provided outstanding service. We don’t dine out often as we ourselves enjoy cooking, but this was definitely worth taking the chance. We all had steaks and the Thermidor and none of us could stop commenting on our meals! Thank you to all the staff as well as the amazing Chef who contributed to this amazing evening! We will definitely recommend and return!

We had an excellent meal at the bistro, there was a warm welcome as we arrived. We were unsure if we wanted to dine inside or outside, the server told us that there were two groups inside and that we might find it a little noisy, so we opted for the patio. They offered to put the heater on, but that made it too hot and we were comfortable without it. The drinks arrived promptly and we soon followed by the food, which was plentiful and tasty. Our waitress was attentive and polite throughout. Would highly recommend.

Service was a bit slow given it was not busy but food was delicious. Servings were huge though wish we had shared our plate of pasta but who can actually complain about getting too much food. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Brockville.

We loved the food (seared Tuna and a curry dish). The atmosphere on the outdoor patio is lovely. I will go again. Just suggest you enhance your single wine serving choices. All three choices were no match for the superb food. I realize your focus may be on selling bottles of wine and in that choice selection you excel.
