Old style motel with no frills. The room was clean and the bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. TV ancient and only a few channels. All rooms upstairs which made it difficult for my wife who recently had knee surgery. The main rail line runs behind the hotel which can make the room rather noisy. Fortunately the trains did not keep me awake due to the wine I drank in the Caribou grill ( see separate review!)

We all enjoyed our visit. The dinner was good, reasonably priced and tasty. The food was prepared a little different than I'm used to here in Prince George. The waitress was very busy and was running her butt off to make sure everyone was happy with theirs orders. She did a great job. The food was very tasty but a little salty. I'll be back.

We dropped by with a party of ten on a Sunday night, not expecting much since this place was in the same building as a small hotel and a liquor store. We were very pleased, and not just because of low expectations. Service was friendly and efficient. Portions sizes were generous. The standout dishes were the tofu with spicy pork (Mo Po Fu), garlic spareribs and the Singapore noodles. The other dishes were OK; more or less westernized Chinese food. Wine comes from a box in a fridge holding the cold drinks, but no complaints as the pour was very generous.

We weren't entirely certain what to expect when we walked in to the Lucky Panda restaurant located in the old Valemount Hotel, but what a pleasant surprise awaited us. The Lucky Panda boasts an extensive menu and we both chose four item combination plates. Our food arrived promptly and was served piping hot. This Is Cantonese style Chinese food and everything was was absolutely delicious. If you're passing through Valemount (or a local for that matter) and looking for really Good Chinese food, then the Lucky Panda is definitely for you . Fast and extremely pleasant service too.

The Lucky Panda Chinese Restaurant is well know in Valemont for its buffet: well stocked, great variety, quick and well priced. We decided to give it a try on an un-expected stop-over in Valemont due to a snow storm. We had the buffet and were not disappointed although I have to admit I was expecting to find fairly typical Canadian-Chinese food, and we did. Nothing gourmet, just fried balls of chicken, pork, beef, sweet and sour, noodles, rice, egg rolls, veggie mix, etc. But the price is right and there is even a 10% discount for seniors. If you are hungry and just want some comfort food this is a good place to visit!

Typical Chinese Fast Food. Lots of variety and prices are reasonable. Portions are a good size. Would go back for a quick Chinese Food fix.
