I have eaten here a few times, and the food was always quite good. This time, the whole experience was a disappointment. Service was slow and poor (the waitress forgot our food order and came back to check it 10 minutes after we ordered). In...good restaurants, service of cocktails is usually done on a bar tray, here, the waitress carried them to us. There was a good choice of cocktails, and they were tasty. When we requested a second cocktail, our glasses were whisked away and refilled with a second drink- why not a fresh glass?! The food was “ho hum”. Nothing special. Risotto like oatmeal (as noted by a previous reviewer). Portions were very small. It took ages to get, then pay the bill. Overall, a 2 star experience. I think I’ll give The Salted Vine a miss for a while, in hopes that they’ll read the reviews and make some changes.More

Nice menu, good options/prices. Portions on the smaller side but okay. Food was nice, nothing special sadly but not bad either. Atmosphere seemed good! And our waiter was a good guy. Overall good experience, wouldn’t be my first place to go back to but I...would recommend it!More

Nice atmosphere and space! Very lively on a weekend evening. The service was good. But we were pretty disappointed with the food. Everything was beautifully presented, but a little bit underwhelming. The gravy, peas and corn on the scallops wasn't a hit. And the spaghetti...carbonara was bland. Hoping the menu improves over time because this is definitely the nicest dinner restaurant in town - atmosphere wise. The menu was very red meat/seafood heavy. Would love to see some flavourful vegetarian options on this menu!More

The female server was unprofessional and had no clue how to explain items in the menu. Service was extremely slow and there was no follow up on our orders. We felt the server was lazy. The server rushed us to finish. The food quality was...subpar with small portions. The high prices did not reflect food quality at all. Sound customer service is lacking at this restaurant. Management is terrible with training staff to treat customers with respect. We do not recommend this restaurant.More

After reading an article about how this restaurant was, two friends and I went to try it. Bottom line it was terrible. Service was ok but the food was well below average. My friend ordered risotto, his wife a cheeseburger and I ordered the only...fish item on the menu. The risotto looked and tasted like oatmeal, my fish (or whatever it was) was chewy and appeared translucent. It looked and tasted uncooked. Captain Highliner would have been a lot better. No comments about the cheeseburger. The food was extremely salty beyond reason and we laughed about the restaurants name and unpalatable food. We would not recommend this restaurant. The owner and staff were friendly but that was about it.More

It was nice to go out. Food was okay and beautifully presented but most everything on my plate was just lukewarm. My husband’s fries were hot so it seems they had to wait for the fries to be ready to serve our plates. My scallops...were good and the vegetables were good, though they would have been better hot. The forbidden rice wasn’t to my taste. The worst was the dessert. It was creme brûlée but I don’t know if they forgot to cook it. It wasn’t set and it was like eating liquid, cold, sweet soup. I did mention this to the server but I don’t think she was very concerned about it. Weirdly bad! I hadn’t been here since pre-pandemic so I was really looking forward to it and had been tasked to report back to friends who also hadn’t been here for awhile. I wish I could be more positive about it.More

memorable meatballs on couscous, the flavour was exquisite, keep thinking about that dish....hmmm The servers, though busy, kept a sense of humour, and were courteous and helpful without hovering. Thanks for that.

From Montreal and visiting my daughter who lives in Squamish. We dined at the restaurant on a Friday evening 6:00pm reservation for 2. They were already quite busy but service was great. Our server did not rush us at all. She was very friendly and...was able to help us with our wine selection. She answered our questions regarding some starters and mains and also made some recommendations. We ordered our starter, Seafood platter, which we shared. Great presentation, delicious and more than enough to share. My daughter had gnocchis and I ordered the papardelle and we were not disappointed :). We shared the dessert, Earl Grey crème brulée. Once again, delicious and presentation was pretty. Will definitely return! My only regret is that I didn't ask our server her name. Excellent service 🙏.More

I was really excited to visit. The host was super awesome and managed to be super helpful on the phone and squeezed us in without a reservation on a Friday night. However, the rest of the service was seriously disappointing. Our server approached us within...a couple of minutes of sitting and took our cocktail order. I told her we would know what food we wanted to order within a couple of minutes. Half an hour later she finally delivered our drinks and took our appetizer order. As I went to order our entrees she had already whipped around and walked off. After about half an hour more (before our appetizers arrived) I grabbed her attention [she kept walking past with no effort to make eye contact or check in] and I asked if we could order our mains and she took our order - at which point I also ordered a glass of wine. Our entrees later arrived but I didn’t eat as I was waiting for my wine pairing. After 20 more mins went by I actually had to approach our server again, who had been chatting to the bartender (who also seemed to have been doing absolutely nothing for the last ten minutes whilst our server was polishing coffee cups) and told her I’d been waiting for my wine to eat my entree. I guess it was just frustrating to watch the staff do nothing when we weren’t getting what we were needing or had ordered - me and my friend had both received 1 drink each in the last hour and 20 minutes of sitting, despite our efforts. Now listen, I was a server in Whistler for 3 years - I know how understaffed our venues can be, how stressful it is to not be able to provide my guests a good experience when busy - but it seemed like no part of what the staff were doing had the customer in mind. At the point where my food was going cold and I asked our server for my wine she even said “whoops, my bad”, and I then saw her type in the order for the very first time. Also, what started off as a busy restaurant was basically dead by the time our entrees came because our server took so very long to take our orders of things. As mentioned, it was about an hour in when I finally managed to get my entree order to her. I know people make mistakes, and have bad days, and I know there’s days that I’ve served and been forgetful and worried about how that’s effected the customer, but the server just didn’t seem to be rushing at all, or feel bad about being inattentive - there was also no recognition of how very long things were taking. It’s a horrible feeling when you’re made to feel like an inconvenience and an afterthought, as a customer. If this is the level of service being offered generally - I would be very concerned for this business. For the supposed, “finest dining in Squamish” the service was seriously disappointing. I feel kinda guilty even writing this review… but when you’re offering small portioned high-end, high-priced food the service should match and here there was a serious disparity. I would honestly be disappointed with this level of service at a dive bar. I would like to note though that the wine was excellent, and the food was very well executed, if not portioned a little on the small side (which is why I have given 2 stars and not 1). Just an opinion from someone who’s worked in the industry. Sadly, night ruined :(More

We didn't have a reservation but we were still able to have a table as it was early in the evening. We arrived during Happy Hour and selected three starters to share. We had some pretty fruity drinks that tasted very fresh. We then ordered...main entres to take back to our hotel to eat later. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back.More

Really good sea food and pasta meal, well paced and with an acceptably priced wine menu. One criticism which did affect our enjoyment: a foursome were allowed to stand behind (over) us, speaking loudly while unmasked - it really did take the edge off our...meal.More

Not bad but overpriced for the quality. Expect quality a bit better than an Earls-type restaurant. Do not come expecting fine dining caliber food, which is what we did. The ling cod main was the best dish we had. There are more affordable, better options...in Squamish. Service was good.More
