It's a small restaurant offering carefully prepared haute cuisine in Squamish- at the price of what would be middle end food at Whistler. Nice small restaurant atmosphere - attentive service. I had the Duck Breast which was excellent. My wife went with the Mushroom Risotto which was also quite tasty. The beet salad was a unique starter.

We were met at the door by Pat the owner of the restaurant. Although the restaurant was a tad small, it was quaint and there was plenty of space between the tables to allow for conversation. What was interesting to us was the openness of the kitchen, where one could see that meals were all individually prepared. Food quality was superior and well presented. We have been to many restaurant was by far one of the few in the lower mainland that are comparable. Portions are a bit on the small side but well compensated by the quality and freshness.

From Montreal and visiting my daughter who lives in Squamish. We dined at the restaurant on a Friday evening 6:00pm reservation for 2. They were already quite busy but service was great. Our server did not rush us at all. She was very friendly and was able to help us with our wine selection. She answered our questions regarding some starters and mains and also made some recommendations. We ordered our starter, Seafood platter, which we shared. Great presentation, delicious and more than enough to share. My daughter had gnocchis and I ordered the papardelle and we were not disappointed :). We shared the dessert, Earl Grey crème brulée. Once again, delicious and presentation was pretty. Will definitely return! My only regret is that I didn't ask our server her name. Excellent service 🙏.

Dined here yesterday evening as a party of 3. Our experience was very mixed - the quality of service and speed of service was poor, yet the overall food portions were fairly sized, flavorful & reasonably priced. We ordered one cocktail within 10 minutes of being seated, which then took upwards of 15 minutes to arrive (the Cedar Sour was very good though). My husband ordered a cocktail in hopes it would arrive with the delivery of the appetizer, which it did not, so we cancelled this. It would have been great to have been told to order cocktails quickly when we sat down, if we wanted them at all. We asked the server for main course recommendations and descriptions of the dishes, which was not delivered very well. The 'Beets & Buratta' was a great appetizer, and the 'Bucatini' main course was tasty and came out hot. However, two of the diners ordered the 'Duck Breast' (medium rare), that came out prepared medium, and were both cold to the touch. No quality check on any of the meals for us to be able to express this; those who had the duck didn't want to get the attention of the server as that would have taken far too long, plus then getting it replaced.... When this feedback was shared with the server after the meal was finished, there was acknowledgement. It was abundantly clear that for how busy the restaurant was on a Thursday night, they were wildly understaffed, which affected the quality of service. We were not the only ones in the restaurant trying to catch the attention of our server, or who kept checking to see when the food was arriving. Our friends bill was presented showing $0, so when we asked if that was in recovery due to the duck, she just said it was an error and then brought out another full priced bill without an apology. Overall, would not return despite the food or solid wine list.

After a long day and still road to do, we decided not to drink wine and then the service became terrible. So they only care about the amount of tip pouring wine and not offer from the get go a great service to get tip. The website menu does not match the one when you enter the restaurant. Food was not great anyway. Would never go back!

I have eaten here a few times, and the food was always quite good. This time, the whole experience was a disappointment. Service was slow and poor (the waitress forgot our food order and came back to check it 10 minutes after we ordered). In good restaurants, service of cocktails is usually done on a bar tray, here, the waitress carried them to us. There was a good choice of cocktails, and they were tasty. When we requested a second cocktail, our glasses were whisked away and refilled with a second drink- why not a fresh glass?! The food was “ho hum”. Nothing special. Risotto like oatmeal (as noted by a previous reviewer). Portions were very small. It took ages to get, then pay the bill. Overall, a 2 star experience. I think I’ll give The Salted Vine a miss for a while, in hopes that they’ll read the reviews and make some changes.

It was nice to go out. Food was okay and beautifully presented but most everything on my plate was just lukewarm. My husband’s fries were hot so it seems they had to wait for the fries to be ready to serve our plates. My scallops were good and the vegetables were good, though they would have been better hot. The forbidden rice wasn’t to my taste. The worst was the dessert. It was creme brûlée but I don’t know if they forgot to cook it. It wasn’t set and it was like eating liquid, cold, sweet soup. I did mention this to the server but I don’t think she was very concerned about it. Weirdly bad! I hadn’t been here since pre-pandemic so I was really looking forward to it and had been tasked to report back to friends who also hadn’t been here for awhile. I wish I could be more positive about it.

After reading an article about how this restaurant was, two friends and I went to try it. Bottom line it was terrible. Service was ok but the food was well below average. My friend ordered risotto, his wife a cheeseburger and I ordered the only fish item on the menu. The risotto looked and tasted like oatmeal, my fish (or whatever it was) was chewy and appeared translucent. It looked and tasted uncooked. Captain Highliner would have been a lot better. No comments about the cheeseburger. The food was extremely salty beyond reason and we laughed about the restaurants name and unpalatable food. We would not recommend this restaurant. The owner and staff were friendly but that was about it.

Oh dear Really could have done better. The service was poor. It was not clear from the staff what was gluten and dairy free as a result I had to change my menu choice late on the process. They forgot my husbands meal so it meant that our daughter and son in law ate at a different time. To be fair their meal was well presented and good. My cod dish!!!!! The fish was overcooked, the carrots were raw, it was obviously thrown on the plate with a heap of resentment my the kitchen. Overall it was overpriced and not good value for money. Spoilt what should have been a lovely farewell dinner.

This is our first time here in a year and wow! Portion sizes were significantly bigger than before and their 3 course menu was fabulous. We were definitely not hungry after our meal (absolutely stuffed actually) and had a great experience. We will be back.. and soon.

FABULOUS. This restaurant is reassuringly expensive, and worth every penny. The seafod platter is amazing. The mains we had, although basic, we're fabulous quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The mains we saw arriving at other tables also looked fantastic! I hope we can nip back for another meal before we hed off. The wine recommendation was spot on. We're not totally uneducated when it comes to wine, and although one of the more expensive bottles, it was a fabulous recommendation (Echo Bay, Synoptic), which as a a medium weight red, complemented both the seafood and the steak we had chosen. The staff were friendly and fun, and although when we went, the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, there was plenty of atmosphere. All in all, it was a great night out!

Fabulous family birthday dinner! Great food, great wine, knowledgeable sommelier, in a casual atmosphere. 2 of us had a Preset menu which included oysters, beef short ribs, and either a cheese plate or chocolate decadence. Other members of our group had the beef tenderloin. Our dinner would rival any fine dining establishment cuisine. Only difference is perhaps in the setting. As mentioned, it is quite casual, very West Coast.

Not bad but overpriced for the quality. Expect quality a bit better than an Earls-type restaurant. Do not come expecting fine dining caliber food, which is what we did. The ling cod main was the best dish we had. There are more affordable, better options in Squamish. Service was good.

We didn't have a reservation but we were still able to have a table as it was early in the evening. We arrived during Happy Hour and selected three starters to share. We had some pretty fruity drinks that tasted very fresh. We then ordered main entres to take back to our hotel to eat later. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back.

Quite enjoyed our time at this place. It was a surprise birthday gift for myself from my lady and it definitely lived up to the hype. Had an excellent asian inspired rockfish soup, and tasty lemon tart for dessert. The highlight for me though was the excellent charcuterie appetizer! Known for their cocktails, they did not disappoint. Every one ordered was worth it.
