We get a lot of take out and have frequented almost every Squamish restaurant. The pizza at Backcountry Brewing is fabulous (the prosciutto fig is our favourite)! Unfortunately, every single time we have gone to BB, we have been met with lukewarm reception. You are...made to wait and then met with an arrogant indifference. Where other local restaurants go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued, BB leaves you wishing you had spent your money somewhere else. It’s too bad because the restaurant has the potential to be a great meet up place (like A-Frame Brewing Co.), but the service leaves a bitter aftertaste.More

My husband drinks IPAs and I drink sours. Backcountry has 5 of each! It's like this place was made just for us!

My boyfriend and I are squamish locals and love going to backcountry, until last night. The staff was extremely unfriendly. No one approached us when we came into the door to get our table and when we finally sat down we watched them attended to...every table but ours and finally had to ask to get service. We had to wave them down each time we wanted a new drink, since our empty glasses weren’t enough to have them come over and ask. We watched our food sit in the window and no one ever quality checked our table. I have worked in the industry and understand when it gets busy (and it wasn’t during this time) or if someone is having a off day but this was unprofessional and disappointing. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the food and beer is always amazing.More

I walked into Backcountry and was met with the aroma of pizza and hops. We were greeted by the friendliest host imaginable. As my soul bounced to the table, i scanned the menu on the board to see not one, not two, but THREE sour...beers. I sat with my friends and was a little distracted, for i knew that it was Sunday and football was happening with no screens in sight. I tentatively asked our lovely server, Ashley, if that TV turned on, and if so could we possibly watch some ‘ball. She said she would ask. Then appeared Nick, our knight in shining armour, he worked tirelessly finding wires and laptops and plugs until he not only put the football on, but the exact game we were hoping to watch. Bless you, Nick. Bless you.More

Amazing beer selection (especially for sours!), amazing pizza (forager is always my order) AND amazing service. Alex was super attentive and because of our experience, we’ll make this a forever stop on our way to Whistler...or might just consider moving to Squamish just to be...closer:)More

We went with another family, total of 3 kids aged 8-10yrs old. We had 4 pizzas to share, the cauliflower soup, and the taters tots banhmi. The pizzas are so tasty but I find them way too salty for the kids. They have kids pizza...the same size choice of cheese or pepperoni, and the sauce is way too salty for them. The cauliflower soup was my favourite thing there!! The tater tots was a winner, more like a salad than a banhmi - just with similar ingredients. Ambiance was nice and chill , low key. Locals like to come there. I don't drink beer but my husband and friends really like their beers! So many choices at reasonable priceMore

Hood place to stop and have a couple drinks. Food was great there is a limited menu but this is a microbrewery so the main focus is the drinks. Unfortunately the washrooms weren't very clean when I was in. Very busy with limited seating. I...didn't mind sharing a table with others but some people wanted to have their own party at their own table.More

We sat at the end of the bar. It took quite some time for anyone to acknowledge us. We were almost ready to give up and leave. The pizza and salad was delicious, so I'm not sure if it was just a really busy night...or a miscommunication on how to order food and drinks. The cider I had was nice and dry like I like it, and my husband seemed pleased with the beer he ordered.More
