It was a last minute decision and we needed something for a quick pick-me-up. First time there, although had heard it was good. I had the clam chowder (loved it) and my husband the burger...no complaints! Need to go again the next time inn Victoria

I am a cook in the area and this restaurant is hand down excellent. Every item is always cooked to perfection with great detail. This eatery is a 5 out of 5
Went to Spitfire Grill after a very long drive from Ucluelet and we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, service and amazing food! Highly recommend the Risotto Crab Balls and the Seafood Crepe.
This is a good restaurant, better by far than most. It is a bit out of the way but still relatively easy to get to. Near the Victoria BC airport, kind of situated at the end of a runway. Staff is always friendly and quick...to help. The ambience is interesting and, thank goodness, does not have any TVs or bad music playing. The food? Well I have a love for Cobb Salad and have finally found a place that serves an excellent one. I've had it twice so far. My wife had a seafood dish that was great also. We are probably going back tonight for further explorations of the menu. I rate this place highly and do suggest it as a great place to dine.More
After deliberating the menu, we were told by a surly and disinterested waitress that held the things we wanted to order were not available. They had run out of so many ingredients and this was on a Saturday morning! This restaurant is not allergy friendly...at all, doesn’t allow substitutions, and the customer service is non-existent.More
How could you not like this place? Airplanes, jet fuel and good food. How could it get any better? We stopped on this Sunday morning for a great breakfast. A couple of omelettes and great service. We left content as we always do.
The food was excellent and worth the wait, but unfortunately the service was very disappointing. We were visiting from out of town and did not know that reservations were recommended. We arrived at 3 hours before closing on Friday night and were lucky to get...a table. Unfortunately the server made it very clear that we were more of a bother to her. Every time she talked to us, she made comments like "sorry, did not get a chance to roll up your cutlery in the napkin", "sorry, I forgot you were my table", etc. By the time we were finished eating, it was still about 1 hour before closing (food took about 40 minutes to arrive) and she never bothered asking us if we wanted coffee or dessert. The guests behind us came after us and their server tended to them much more than ours to us, even offered them dessert and coffee. Our server totally ignored us and after waiting patiently for a long time we had to ask for the bill, even though she was clearing the tables around us and saw that we were finished. When she finally brought the bill, she said, "sorry, but after the hurricane that came through today, I totally forgot that I still had your table to look after". I totally understand that currently many restaurants are understaffed, but to let your customers know at every moment that they are not welcome, is not acceptable. We were patient, never bothered her and always friendly. Even though the food was top, I truly don't feel like returning when we come back to Sidney soon again.More
Wonderful dining experience at the Spitfire Grill tonight. Our server Amanda went above and beyond with her attentiveness, efficiency and calmness, while helping to serve a full house. Even though tonight was very busy, Amanda remained calm and cheerful. Food came out prompt, tasty, well...presented and worthy of 5 stars. Overall, an excellent dining experience that leaves us looking forward to many more visits.More
Friendly service, excellent halibut burger, very helpful staff. Take out or eat in. Hoping they’ll finally get outdoor seating set up.
We had one member of our family flying out so what a perfect time to visit the Spitfire Grill. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Of course, our meals were also fantastic. This place is a wee bit out of the way, just go past the...terminal turnoff and you will see it on the right-hand side. Once inside you will feel at home and relaxed. The staff are fussy about Covid protocols. We've been a couple of times in the last few months and highly recommend that you stop by.More
Very convenient by airplane probably could park 4 or 5 light aircraft. Good value and delicious food. November 23/2022
Being Ex Air force and meeting my two sons off the local ferry (one of which is a Pilot) I thought it would be interesting to dine there and enjoy the view of the airport. Not knowing the place had changed hands the new owners...seem to have stripped the memorabilia of old photos, aircraft models and other aviation related material from the restaurant leaving the walls and ceiling a stark bareness of former days. I know this supposed to be a review of the food and my Rueben was inedible and my son a Vegan had a choice of two items on the menu ( one of which was not available on that day ) so sorry Spitfire Grill, cant say I will be returning soon.More
Really nice visit to a unique restaurant. The food was good, not great, but we sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of an airport. Service was really good despite them being short staffed. Nice visit!
Enjoyed the seafood chowder. Good service. Helpful staff. Good idea to order ahead for take out. Be sure to ask for crackers.
We were here last weekend for dinner. This was our second visit since October. Both times we have had excellent service and food. Our first visit, I had fish and chips which were cooked perfectly. My LDC had the meatloaf and thought it delicious. Last...weekend I had the grilled halibut. Again, cooked perfectly. My LDC this time got brave and tried the dinner special. It was a spicy pasta special that the chef toned down for him. I had a prawn out of his dish and it took me back to New Orleans. Very good. I am looking forward to going back and trying the seafood crepe. There seemed to be at least one going to every other table. Sorry to see some of the negative reviews on here. Not our experience at all as of January 23 2021.More
