If you love schnitzels, pork sausage, roestis (potato pancakes), spatzle etc...this is the place. It is located right on the main drag of Sidney, just above the pier. The décor is great and we took the whole family including a toddler here and everyone had a superb meal. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location right within the... More

My newest favourite words are Roesti and Raclette. I tried the Butcher's Roesti at this restaurant and it was a tasty protein fix. Served with pork bratwurst, ham and bacon on top of two fried eggs over cheesy potatoes, this offered mouthful after mouthful of delectable morsels. My wife had her Swiss favourite of raclette. She loved it. The staff... More

Superb food, generous portions, reasonable prices, excellent service. My only thing is my wife was ill and only ordered French Onion Soup which was too salty, and I love salt. She didn't finish it and had a bit of my Jaeger Schnitzel, red cabbage and rosti. Never had rosti before; it's kind of like gnocchi in a different form. I... More

The 4th of June was my Wife's 70th Birthday and since we where visiting Sidney we decided to stay over and celebrate in this special day after a visit to the renowned Butchart Gardens. Many years ago, we lived in the Black Forest in southern Germany not far from the Switz Border Canadian Forces 1 Wing Lahr. Snitzel was always... More

Bistro Suisse is a family favourite as much for its staff as for its great menu. Best appy to share between two is the onion tart with side salad and citrus dressing - if you order extra it's a great 'morning after' with coffee (!) The mains are fresh and plentiful and the wines a nice pairing. Come with an... More

We just stopped in for dessert choosing to sit on the patio to soak up the beautiful evening. Our waitress was great since the restaurant was super busy. We chose the crepe Romanoff (daily special with the strawberries soaked in liqueur) and the homemade caramel mousse. Both were amazing. The inside of the restaurant was very beautiful full of Swiss... More

Four of us went for dinner on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was quite busy. We were given a seat by the window overlooking the street. We had to croud into the seats, as it is a small intimate restaurant. The waitress wat there quickly with water, and to take drink orders. We looked at the menu, one of that... More

We visited this restaurant when in Sidney a couple of weeks ago. We both opted for the lighter dinners of schnitzel with the side salad. Both were excellent and just the right amount of food for our taste. We hope to visit again on our next trip.

If you are looking for a higher end dinner experience this fits the bill. Our food was perfectly cooked and served. Very reasonable considering the quality. Also a lovely atmosphere. I would suggest reservations

The oven-baked, herb butter pan seared filet of sole with shrimp was delicious. Restaurant was cozy but not too noisy. All our needs were met. We had lunch here earlier in the day. Be prepared to use a neat pair of salt and peppers shakers and have a set added to your bill if you wish.
