Chose this place as the location for a group dinner after skiing all day. While they don't take reservations, they were very accommodating when it came to getting are group of 9 seated and fed. They said the food would take a while because the kitchen was backed up but it didn't seem to take much longer than normal. Had a few rounds at the bar while waiting and that worked out well. Word of caution regarding liquor, they are very stingy in their pours. A single of anything is less than a finger in a small glass; a double is about what you'd get as a single most other places. Otherwise, good food, loud but festive atmosphere, TV's for watching sports, and good comfort food.

My sons hockey team passed through Revelstoke on New Years Eve and we asked Joel and the gang @ The Village Idiot to prepare chicken clubs, pulled pork sandwiches, and burger options for us on the bus...everything was perfect! All 40 people had nothing but good things to say about the accuracy, quality, and presentation of the food. Well done gang!

A little bit special but with lots of funny decorations and in general a 'different' atmosphere. Not really sure if that was positive or not for us - we might have felt a little bit misplaced. But service was good and nice food as well. We got a pizza to share and that can definitely be recommended - and just take a big enough version to get yourself some lunch for the next day :)

We walk in the door and no-one was around so we waited a couple of minutes, then got into a discussion about needing a table for 6 and a half. We were with a 3 year old and a 10 year old, then the guy in charge came and said maximum table size was 6, I thought he was joking. Apparently not and so we had to sit at two separate tables, not able to chat. When we walked in, no-one explained that the menus where viewable once you scanned a QR code so our two tables were literally looking around wondering what to do and trying to figure out why no waitress was talking to us. After what seemed like another age, a waitress finally came and took our drinks order, but the menu has no soft drinks on it so it took a few minutes to figure out what the kids wanted. After another while, the waitress came and took our food order. We ordered a kid's marinara pasta which was too spicy for a kid. My wife ordered a salad with chicken, my eldest son ordered a burger and I had the "Carbonawesome" as they called it.... A Carbonara with bacon and broccoli with chicken which was extra. My wife's salad itself was nice BUT the chicken was bland and tasteless, My sons burger was overcooked and my pasta was just shockingly bad, the bacon looked like it wasn't really bacon, more the bits of ham that no sane person would want to eat. I also had the same tasteless and unseasoned chicken which was in my wife's salad. Both pasta dishes came with some sort of bread, I thought it was supposed to be garlic bread but it tasted not in the least bit of garlic and looked like the end bits of a loaf of bread that had been hanging around the kitchen for a week or so. On a 30 degree day in Revelstoke I was looking forward to sitting down inside, in the shade and eating a nice meal with a cool drink and even the cider I ordered wasn't that cold. Unfortunately, the place doesn't have aircon and has a lot of windows so it's like one big greenhouse/sauna. I think paying $100+ for not a lot of food which was complete and utter garbage, was a bit much so I couldn't wait for the bill, to pay and leave. We stopped at the 7-11 to get drinks and desert..... Which was a better end to the day than at Village Idiot, and made it almost as good as the night before when we got food at the Taco Club which was loverly.

On recommendation from the front desk at our hotel we ordered pizza and wings from The Village Idiot. The worse pizza I’ve had since frozen pizza. The crust ends were huge and hard, we asked for extra sauce, it was almost dry, the toppings were sparse, missing on some pieces, what little cheese was on the pie was over cooked with no string to it whatsoever. The wings; salt and pepper, had lots of seasoning but were way over cooked and the meat was very dry. Don’t bother, try somewhere else.

Delicious dinner on the patio. My partner and I both ordered the Bigger Burger - one was accompanied by a green salad, the other with fries. We sat on the patio and were impressed with care shown by the management, the restaurant host and the server. Servings are very generous and our meals were delicious. We especially liked the brioche bun and the burger toppings (cheese, mushrooms, bacon, fresh tomato and more). The green salad was very fresh and had a light balsamic vinegar dressing. The fries were equally good. We thought the entire meal was first-rate and would recommend to fellow travellers.

First weekend with COVID-19 restrictions lifted. They were busy, beyond busy. Short staffed due to aforementioned COVID-19 situation. Gord was exceptional, friendly, funny, professional. They shut down adding more people to tables as they knew the kitchen could not keep up and still deliver a quality product. Fantastic food, falafel wrap with spinach salad and a better burger with fries. Delicious. Highly recommend.

Despite COVID-19 and forest fires (obscuring the beautiful views) our trip to Revelstoke was made even better by our visit to The Village Idiot. We were offered a table inside or outside...chose inside despite the lack of air conditioning. The wait and bar staff were very friendly and professional. The food and drink recommendations were on point (sliders / perogie pizza with pulled pork / poutine - local lager) and came out in a timely manner. Good food and atmosphere coupled with great service makes The Village Idiot a restaurant I would recommend.

We took a detour into Revelstoke for lunch on our way through the mountains to Vancouver and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The menus are on QR codes (maybe that’s just for Covid) but it is actually super helpful and great to look at it from your phone instead of the traditional menu. I had the pulled pork with a side of poutine and my husband had a burger and fries. Everything was pretty good and the prices were decent, especially for a ski resort town. Although I didn’t order an alcohol beverage, I saw the bartender muddling things up behind the bar which is always a good sign. The town itself is super quaint and has a bunch of neat shops scattered around. I think it’s a great place to stop on your travels through the mountains (or if you’re there to ski).

The food was amazing. The staff were super helpful and friendly. They catered to our picky kids with no hesitation. We dined on the outside patio in the late afternoon which made it really feel like we were on holidays!

We were in 6 people and order the spinach salad, quinoa salad, poutine and pizza. All dishes were great! Very tasty! Definitely recommend!!! We were in a table at the patio and asked if we could move to a table inside and they did their best to accommodate us. We had a great experience! Thank you.

We loved the atmosphere at The Village Idiot! We sat inside but there was an option to sit outside as well. It was packed inside and was very lively. We sat close to the bar so it our drinks came really quickly and were great. I had the panzo which was so yummy and split the corn balls with my husband, the whipped feta dip was the best dip I have ever had! The rest of my table enjoyed all their food as well. My friend had a bowl with tofu in it and she said it was the best tofu she had ever been served. Would definitely come back!

Good service, staff wearing masks and gloves. Diners were physically distanced and the outside patio was in hot demand. Food was fine but a bit salty for us. We had the Carbonawesome and clam casino with salad and poutine. Lots of bacon in the carbonawesome and bacon and capers in the clam casino which may have added to the saltiness. Poutine cheese and chips were great but salty gravy.

We had just decided to leave another restaurant because of the amount of time we sat with menus while staff watched us and chatted instead of coming to take an order and we came to the village idiot. We were SO happy we did! The pleasant and happy staff jumped on us....sat us down...explained how the service worked and got us great drinks and cocktails and 4 plates of incredible food! The difference in the 2 restaurants was complete Night and Day! You guys have a great groovy little place inside and out! The attitude of your staff made our meal so worth while! We weren't afraid to ask any questions or ask for anything extra! We were very very well tended to! A big difference! Well done guys 👏👏 July 22nd around 3-4pm! 😊
