We went to the restaurant for lunch on Jan. 27th and were disappointed in the very limited menu and the waitress told us it was due to covid. about all we could see to order was Halibut and chips. it was good but small portion...and pricey. One had the seafood chowder and said it was very good . It would be nice to have some seafood items...a crab melt or a shrimp sandwich for example. We felt very safe and protocol was followed good.More

Mark was great! He made our dining experience a fun one. I had the chicken special which was not good. The broccoli was over salted and the chicken was very dry. Hubby had the lamb and he was very happy with it. I am told...that the pizza is amazing.More

We ordered the cheese board, charcuterie board, ribeye steak meal, and the vegetarian curry, along with some fries. For a place that’s selling a high end dining experience, we were super disappointed. Years ago, it was amazing, but now, mediocre at best. The fries were...straight out of a bag, the curry was not good, the chutney was crap, and the ribeye was one of the worst cuts I’ve ever had, let alone for a $32 steak. The food was straight out of Costco. The side veggies were really good, and they comped us some dessert, which was really tasty. The wait staff were attentive, and the manger was awesome, but overall, the food was a complete disappointment. We won’t make that mistake again.More

A girlfriend and I were away for a spa weekend and we were staying at and going to the spa at Tigh-na-mara so we decided to have dinner at the Cedars Restaurant. We booked an 8:30pm reservation for the restaurant a week in advance. When...we arrived they came across as they did not want us to eat in the restaurant. There were a few other groups in the restaurant. It was so weird. so they sat us in the lounge after asking us many time if we would consider it. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. There took my food allergy very serious. The atmosphere in the lounge wasn't as nice as the dining room plus it was very sparse and vacant due to covid rules. Seats were a bit uncomforatble. We felt very rushed the whole time in there. To the point where we took our dessert to go so we could enjoy it. Prices were fair for what you were getting. Food was very good lots of good flavours. martinis were ver y delicious. my steak was cooked perfectly. The Peanut Butter Pie is to die for. Amazing! Maybe with it being a Saturday Night they all just wanted to go home. If that is the case they shouldn't allow you to make an 8:30pm rest.More

Hit and Miss. We ordered the ‘deluxe’ charcuterie board and got a wheel of Brie, cut in half, 4 dried figs, some ‘chutney’ (raisins and diced non-descript fruit-not spreadable). 6 olives, 4 gherkins, a smear of mustard and 3 types of meat. Very underwhelming and...unsophisticated...given the location and access to amazing local produce-Qualicum cheese works is down the road, locally sourced meats, etc. Spicy shrimp was indeed spicy, not bad. On special crab legs were fresh and delicious, good value. Special was prime rib full meal deal...potatoes cold, Yorkshire pudding was cold a like cardboard. Had to send the meal back. Also had the braised short ribs and gnocchi...this was good, tender, nice rainbow carrots and broccolini. Asked for no mushrooms, came loaded with mushrooms :( Service was excellent in both the lounge and main dining.More

Had dinner at Cedars on New Years Eve. Restaurant has great atmosphere and decor. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Price fixed four course menu on New Years Eve had lots of variety. I had the Seafood Wellington and my girlfriend had the short...ribs. Both were excellent!! Lots of food so we’re able to box up the dessert and take home. Reasonable price for New Years Eve. We will be back!More

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Cedars Restaurant at Tigh na Mara tonight and highly recommend it there! The service was the best we have ever had. The manager Kimberly and the waiter Mark were both so very friendly and helpful. They...truly went above and beyond for us. The food came out hot and was all super delicious. We loved our meals, desserts and wine. The restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere and the covid protocols were all in place. Thank you Cedars for an enjoyable memorable, memorable night! We will be back in the near future!More

We have never taken the time to review a dining experience, being we are from Qualicum Beach and dining locally. I felt I must share....As a special outing this Christmas we decided to treat ourselves. We frequent Cedars Restaurant at Tigh Na Mara on occasion,...this meal deserves a grand mention. We were so impressed by the festive spirit both by the friendly staff, their smiles and kindness, and beautiful holiday décor in the dining room, along with the cozy fireplace in the lounge. Our meal was simply outstanding, the steak was done perfectly med rare served w delicate crab legs and roasted root vegetables w/ a potato mash. The turkey was better than my own! The meal was piping hot, delicious beyond words, and not to mention the wine pairing with both our entrees - exceptional and local BC VQA selections! The meal was made complete with Chef's daily made desert, a mouthwatering Tiramisu and we chose a double espresso to cap off the dinner. Delectable! All in all - we may not be cooking our Christmas dinner at home again, ever!More
