Beautiful, cozy and warm atmosphere. Bartenders and servers are always pleasant and friendly. The menu has a great, diverse selection which means there's always something for everyone. Food is flavorful and consistent at a reasonable price point.

We were staying for just one night in the Hume Hotel and after a long journey came down to the Library in the late afternoon for a drink and to relax. The atmosphere was so convivial that we decided to stay on for dinner. The...More

Same good food provided at all the restaurants/pub located at this location. Pub is great with pool tables and plenty of tv’s playing the day’s games.

Looked for a quiet, relaxing place with exceptional food and definitely found it here. The charm of the old library, the excellent service and fantastic meal were all first rate.

Ordered the buffalo burger and yam fries, enough to feed 3 people, great taste, there are many more exotic things on the menu but I fancied this this day. Have been here many times never disappointed. Great ambience.

Thanks for the review...while we don't have the Buffalo Burger any more, it may have been our Farmer's Daughter Burger that we are featuring for Burger Month which has been a big hit. We are glad you liked it.

Stopped by for a lunch recently, while on a business trip in Nelson. The room is very historic, lots of statues, old photograph and antique decor. Not exactly my 'cup of tea' but the food was good, lots of variety on the menu and our...More

You can go to the Hume Hotel website and there is a section called Menus. It is the same menu for all departments within the hotel!

Description
The Library Lounge is at the heart of the Hume Hotel. Located just off the front lobby, The Library has a cozy, parlour-like atmosphere with a replica of the original Hume Hotel bar (complete with brass) polished and prepped for your visit. Caryatids and original moldings decorate the interior, as does the original monumental brick hearth and fireplace that warms the room. Full restaurant meal service is offered, as are a selection of wines, beer and spirits to complement the live jazz and other music featured nightly.
