WoW !! What a pleasant surprise !! We stayed at the Copper Point Resort and decided to try Black Forest for dinner and were so glad we did. Everything from decor, to staff, to ambience, to service, to food was exceptional !!! Our server Melissa...was professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and very friendly making our experience the best.My husband enjoyed the Special Beef Bourguignon and I loved my Schnitzel Champignon and red wine. I would be happy to recommend this place to anyone and am only sad it's so far from our home.More

Reasonable priced but slow. Ordered the schnitzel cordon blue - seemed like ordinary chicken cordon blue. Also if you sub a side for salad that’s ALL sides. They don’t clarify that. Finally they try to charge you $4 to share an entree.

Kind of disappointed. Had been told how good this place was so was looking forward to it. Pleasant atmosphere but not much authentic German cuisine on the menu. Lots of twists on it but not truly Bavarian food. Cool looking building and two German beers...on tap.More

Three of us went to the Black Forest steak and schnitzel restaurant for dinner. We had a chicken Wiener schnitzel, a jager schnitzel hubertus and a rainbow trout, followed by an apple strudel, a black forest cake and a peach melba. All the food was...very good and our server 'Maisie' was excellent. Worth a visit when in the area. It was quite busy so it was worth making a reservation.More

These will be "heavy" meals - schnitzel and spatslay. But the food is "the best," and the atmosphere is buzzing.

We tried to make reservations for 6:30 but were told they only had 6:15pm. Not a big deal, that was fine with us. Quite a precise time. We arrived on time and were seated. We chatted for a while, not a waitress in sight, no...water, no drinks. About 6:40pm or so another couple was seated next to us. Within minutes their waitress appeared. After she was done taking their drink order I asked why we hadn't seen our waitress yet. Many minutes later our waitress appeared with her traninee. No apologizes, just a comment that they were busy with another table, although I had seen her back and forth several times. The trainee proved to be quite helpful despite her continually rude counterpart. The food was good. We had heard raves from the locals. I really wanted to try the Spatzle so ensured I ordered a dish that was served with it. The pork was overly salty and the spatzle seemed overcooked (PS - if you want good spatzle there is a great place in Radium). The building is fantastic and I have always wanted to go there. The inside is done up very nicely and if you go make sure you have a chance to look at all the nicely done murals. Now that I have been there I won't be in a rush to go back.More

I went to the restaurant close to 6:30 pm and asked for a table for one, the waitress told me that they were fully booked. There was a group of people that were behind me and heard the waitress. When the group inquired about when...would be the the next available table, the waitress replied “at 8 o’clock “ . The group stayed behind after I left. It felt that the waitress was just trying not to get me in. I waited couple of minutes outside, and went back to find that the waitress miraculously found a table for the group. I asked to talk to the manager, a lady came few minutes later claiming that she is the manager, she was defensive and loud and talking down to me. I have no doubt that this was based on my colour and accent.More

Restaurant was busy and while I thought we had made an online reservation, turns out it was to another place (with the same name?!). but they were good enough to accommodate our party of 2. We ordered the house special which included soup, schnitzel and...dessert. We swapped out the potato soup for Goulash which was DELICIOUS. The schnitzel was ok. Nothing special. Too much sauce though. We asked for a side order of Spatzle and we were very disappointed. It appeared that the noodles were either overcooked, or possibly reheated. We both took one bite and left it behind. We took our bread pudding dessert to go, opting to pass on the rum/raisin ice cream that came with it. The pudding itself was very dry but thanks to the caramel sauce included, made it edible. All in all, I would say the food was just "ok".More

Stopped by just before the supper rush without a reservation and fortunately they were able to fit us in. I would recommend making a reservation however as this seems to be a very popular place with the locals. The dining room is large enough with...reasonable distance between tables and the European atmosphere is quite charming without being overdone. Service was prompt and our server was pleasant. I had the Cordon bleu schnitzel which though not spectacular was a good size and good and hot and the accompanying vegetables were nicely done without being overdone. My wife had the Schnitzel Scandia with Spatzel and felt it was very tasty. I would like to try a few other menu items so I expect to go back, and found nothing about this place that would discourage me from doing so.More

Our dinner was exceptional and the portions are huge. The service was truly amazing! I highly recommend.

We've been here many times over the years and this visit was disappointing. We were not seated in the main dining room despite it being almost empty and having made reservations a few week's in advance. Lights were very dim and there was no music...to be heard unlike other visits which makes it quite festive and atmospheric. The waitress was efficient, yet rather businesslike and rehearsed. The salad sampler was not as remembered and the meal tasted reheated. Bland, pale red cabbage and meat far too soft. Hope it was a one off as we always look forward to our meals there and it's not cheap. Good house wine!More
