Strand’s overlooks the business section of Invermere and offers a commanding view of the Rocky Mountains. Today, as yesterday, Strand’s is an integral part of Valley history. It was built in 1912 as the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Ritchie. At that time Mr. Richie owned the Livery Stable in Invermere and did heavy hauling with his team and wagon. He later became a prominent Valley rancher. The home was purchased by Dr. and Mrs. Filmer Coy around 1920. “Doc” Coy, as he was affectionately known, was for many years the only medical practitioner between Cranbrook and Golden. My wife and in fines here for the first time in ten years. The menu is still very similar and the food was just as great as the last time we are there. What a nice treat. We wont take ten years to go back!
Found this restaurant online and were drawn to the early bird specials. Turkey pot pie was great as was the pork schnitzel. Nice soup and salad appies and the desert was both tasty and well presented.
