The Wolfs Den Sunday Night Howl has been a town favourite ever since it started back in 2013. Theres local favourites that sing regularily including my favourite the beautiful @melissa.jane.miller 💕
This building holds so much history in this town and ever since the owner Curt Thorne took it over and reopened it in 2012 it has carried on the legend in its own right. @thewolfsdenrestaurant is best known for the burgers which come in about 20 different combos and flavours, as well they have some of the best cuts of steak in town and some creative sharing appies to start you off as well. They keeping you hydrated with the best of the local Whitetooth brews as well as Fernie Brews.
But on top of the food and drinks, is the service. Personable, warm, welcoming and so damn efficient! This place runs like a well oiled machine!
I didn’t manage to get the best photos of the food tonight because it was busy with the jam and the super bowl so there was limited space to move, but this place speaks for itself, head in and try it out if you’re ever in Golden, you won’t be disappointed!

Went to Wolf's Den with friends and had a delicious meal out on the patio. As a vegetarian, there was plenty to choose from, and the burger I ate was one of the best I've ever had! The service was great and there were lots of drinks to choose from.
My only issue was that the menu did seem a little overpriced for the area and in comparison to other similar restaurants we went to on our trip. Also, I know in BC masks are not mandatory indoors but as the COVID numbers were rising it was a bit uncomfortable walking through the restaurant where no one was wearing masks, and this was the only restaurant during our two weeks in Alberta/BC where staff were not wearing masks.

We stopped here on our way home from a trip to the West Coast for Family day weekend. We had hit up their sister location Bear & Bone on our way through and loved it so had to check this place out too. Equally impressed here too! What a great log cabin pub! Great atmosphere, love the string lighting, live music, great food, and great service.
The Brussels sprout appy was delicious! Moscow mules were great as well. I had the steak sandwich and it was cooked perfectly and the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing! Hubby had the wild boar burger and said it was one of the best burger patties he’s ever had. He was equally impressed with the smoked applewood bacon topping.
So glad we had extra time to enjoy our evening here. The live music and atmosphere were top notch!

We had been there last year just for a few drinks and had incredible service, so we thought we’d return but this time for dinner. The host and servers were really friendly, made everyone feel welcome/important. Love the casual atmosphere and they had a wicked playlist going. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed with the food - large portions but not overly great taste.....especially considering the high price tag. They did however bring out a delicious, complimentary sticky toffee pudding for my husband’s birthday. That was absolutely amazing! Overall though it was not worth what we paid. If we were to return here next time we are in Golden, we would only go for drinks and dessert.

The Wolf Den is our go to place in Golden. Such a great place with nice food and a good selection of beers and drinks. The bison ribs are delicious and there is plenty of food if you are very hungry after a day of skis.
We also love the fact that the atmosphere is relaxed and there is room for everyone, groups, families, kids etc.

Love the laid back atmosphere and the high caliber of the serving staff and the amazing food. Our server was Sarah and we told her she was the best in the world. We have been in the area for 5 days and been to restaurants all over and also been to restaurants all over the world. Sarah is elite, top of the class of the class if there was one. She did everything right: brought drinks and food on time, checked on us every so often and she even played hostess to a small group that was waiting at the door. All of this with a smile as wide as we have ever seen. We would go back just for her. We also loved the food. We had the best poutine ever! I know right? Golden, BC?? But we had the one with Montreal smoked meat and let me tell you we are poutine nuts. We try poutine every time it is on the menu wherever we go. This was a delight. Our burgers were awesome: California Dreaming and Mayan and we chose Gluten Free which means they swap the bun for lettuce. So delicious. I can’t imagine putting a bun around such amazing food. By the way the place was packed by 6 pm on a Wednesday night.

Stopped in based on other reviews. It was good and the staff was friendly. In my opinion the food was a little over priced. I ordered the black bean burger which cost $21 and wasn’t made in house, which was disappointing. In total it cost $45 for two people, which I personally find expensive.

Went here with my wife and 3 kids. There were plenty of available options and the menu seemed like the "normal" menu, so I'm not sure what happened in the case of other recent reviews. This was a Sunday evening so maybe they have more options on weekends?
The waitress was not friendly, she never came to our table after the food was served (by someone else), and when she handed me the credit card machine at the end, she had pre-selected 18% gratuity on our bill...for 5 people. Ouch. I'm not a stingy tipper (I was a server once so I like to be generous) but I do believe in "earn your tips" and she definitely didn't.
Couple small things to be aware of - a pop will set you back $6 and the Kids Mac/Cheese is just about 1 cup of Kraft Dinner...for $15. A bit surprising given how good the burgers were. And it was an extra $4 for a small rameken of gravy to go with the fries that came with a burger. Yikes.
In short, the food was good but the prices were steep for cheap things, and our server forced a generous tip on us when it wasn't deserved. It's too bad because this place is really great, but the little things left a bad taste in the mouth...so just be aware of them if you go here and you'll be all set.

We make a point of going to the wolfs den every single time we are in Golden. The atmosphere is awesome and love sitting near the wood stove or upstairs. It’s everything great about our area of BC. The food is always a 10/10 and the service can’t be beat. Quaint, charming, cozy, and amazing soul food. It can be quite busy so reservations are recommended if you have a few people.

I cannot recommend this establishment. Service was very fast and friendly, but the food was extremely expensive and not....good. I had a burger and onion rings; the bun was stale and hard, and the meat was a frozen manufactured patty. Definitely not worth $32! It came out so fast I wondered if it had been made for someone else and then served to me?
On top of that, the dining room had a very odd, off-putting, "sewer" smell that came over it several times throughout the meal. I couldn't finish my meal as a result (and didn't really want to) so we left with at least "$10" worth of food on the plate.
I rarely warn people away from anywhere, and I'm reluctant to do so now. Judging from the reviews, our experience was an anomaly. But I won't be back.

Tradition continues... Dropped by with a couple friends who were passing through, and in such an instance a visit to the Wolf's Den is always a must do. Everything was spot on. One friend declared the crispy chicken sandwich to be one of the best things she had ever eaten.
The Covid controls are thorough. Contact tracing, distancing, masked servers, sanitizer, plexiglass, the works, but they are not overly intrusive.
The food was excellent, the service exemplary.
If you're visiting Golden, don't miss it.

This is a bar with pretensions. We read the menu supplied to the hotel, interesting and many fine dining items, decided on what we wanted. Big surprise the menu was a single one sided half sheet and nothing on it was on the menu we saw. Appys, salad, glorified burgers and sandwiches and some desserts. We had decided on steak in some form, not one offered, the clincher was sticky toffee pudding- not that either. Chicken on your dinner salad was the only option we saw and it wasn't what we wanted, so 2 beef dips with "special horseradish sauce" if it was there I couldn't taste it, side of salad/chips we shared and an au jus so thin you had to wonder how they made it. Was an expensive disappointing meal. We had cheesecake for dessert, it was a birthday dinner on the road. The waitress was great, cheerful and very busy but made sure we got our food hot and our dessert. It was $$$ dinner that didn't rate the bill.

We saw a full menu in the motel, went because it was close and sounded good. There was a wait, waitress was pleasant and sent us outside to wait for a table with others . Menu was a disappointment, since we had already decided what sounded Iike dinner and none of it was there, a very abbreviated menu of app'ys, salads, burgers and sandwiches. No really being in the mood for a glorified burger we opted for a beef dip and salad/ chips. Very mediocre beef dip, with a big price. The waitress was cheerful and attentive and she did know the beer list! Dessert was short too, we had seen sticky toffee pudding on the " big" menu and it wasn't on the other sheet, very short choice and as it was a birthday dinner on the road we got cheesecake. Nothing very different there either, not made in house for sure. But choice of topping and teas. All in all, an expensive meal that really ,didn't rate. But it's a tourist town that depends on seasonal revenue so ....

Atmosphere is great. Prime rib was excellent. Poutine was okay. The prime rib was $46 with two sides, but ended up paying an additional $5 for each side. The dry ribs were very salty, so much so neither of us could finish a single one. $100 meal. In the end I will say it was over priced and another place would have been better.

We stopped in here at the end of a long day per a recommendation from someone in Field. Very nice atmosphere, suits the town. Like everywhere they are short staffed but they worked their tail off to take care of you. Food was delicious and portions are very large (take that into account when ordering). I typically do not order burgers when out (mine are darn good) but I did and I was not disappointed. Nothing fancy on the menu, very much pub food but worth it. You will pay more than a typical pub but good value. Decent selection of beer as well.
