The ambiance in the restaurant is a great upbeat dinner vibe with friendly informative staff. Our waiter went through details of the restaurant and our food as it was placed for us for dining. I was immediately taken back with the art piece of food...that was brought to me and instantly was even more excited about meeting the flavours. The Baba Ganoush had a lovely quality that married well with the zucchini and ricotta. The beets were mesquite with delight and everything about the Summer Squash Cannelloni was delightful. So incredibly grateful to share this experience with my daughter who enjoyed her bison steak with great delight. Highly recommend!More

My wife and I are staying here for 1 night and I have to say, what a tremendous find! You cannot see the lodge from the highway and the signs are easily missed but it is worth a visit. The front staff are friendly, helpful...and polite. The rooms are comfortable with a mattress that allows an uninterrupted sleep. Road noise is barely perceptible. The dining room however was the high point! The food was excellent and served by some great servers. The rack of lamb was excellent as were the bison short ribs. Really enjoyed our brief stay here and look forward to returning!More

My husband and I dined at the Heather Mountain Lodge for our 33rd anniversary and had a great meal!!! Our waiter was very attentive to the fact that we just wanted to sit and enjoy the evening at a leisurely pace that everything arrived perfectly....We ordered 2 appetizers that were both flavourful and beautifully presented. Our main courses were equally as good! Our waiter also brought us desserts on the house for our anniversary. He was very knowledgeable about wine choices and general inquiries that we had. We look forward to dining there again sometime soon!!More

The location of Heather Mountain Lodge was perfect for us after a long day of driving before heading into Yoho the next day, so it was a delight to experience prompt service at the front desk and find the room well appointed. Dinner that night...was OUTSTANDING. Truly one of the best meals we had on our 2 week vacation to British Columbia and Alberta. It takes a lot to make a chicken dish great and they nailed it. The grilled vegetables with it were perfect as well. They had a good beer selection, which we greatly appreciated not being wine drinkers. The only low light was breakfast- after having such an excellent dinner the night before, expectations were high for breakfast, even knowing it was a buffet. I've had good buffet breakfasts elsewhere, so I know it can be done, and let's just say this was... not good. Especially not $20 good. So skip breakfast and get something in Golden.More

This place is highly recommended mostly because of the staff. I have never been in a place with such a friendly staff. I would hire all of them immediately if I ran a hotel. Beside friendly they were funny and very helpful with everything. Kids...were able to run around and play and even got a t shirts when we left. Amazing food as well. The rooms and view are great too.More

My wife and I stayed at the lodge which we really enjoyed and I submitted a review but we also eat in the restaurant and I would like to submit a separate review. The dinner meals we had were delicious. I had the pork ribs...and I have to say they were delicious. The ribs were rubbed with Jamaican spice with pineapples bits and sides of awesome coleslaw and sweet potato muffin. My wife had the Game burger which was a combination of Bison, Elk and Duck. We can't say enough about how incredible the food tasted. The cocktails and dessert were also fantastic, not to mention the great service from the staff and beautiful views of the mountains. We also had the buffet style breakfast which was also very good with fine quality foods. We can't wait to visit again and rave to our friends about how great it was.More

We spent two days/nights at this lodge. The service was excellent. The rooms all have locally made lavender soaps. Unfortunately I am allergic to lavender and the smell caused me to have an immediate reaction when we entered the room. It was reported to the...front desk and the soap was removed. They tried very hard to find another product but it was lavender based. I carry my own unscented soap so it wasn't a problem. They were very understanding. There is a restaurant on sight which is excellent. We had two evening meals and every item we ordered was tasty and delicious. There home made soups are wonderful as is there home made bread. HIghly recommend this lodge and the restaurant. It is somewhat close to the highway so can be noisy with the traffic but that can be lived with given the excellent staff, service and food.More

Enjoyed dinner in late March before the restaurant closed for the spring. The new chef is amazing - passionate, knowledgeable and pedigreed in the slow food and farm to table movements. Expect more great things from this perfectly located lodge.

The meals are excellent. During an overnight stay at the lodge we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. For dinner we started with the Charcuterie and it was wonderful. the homemade duck and hare were excellent. For our main course we had Chestnut Stuffed Chicken and...for dessert we had pecan torte. To accompany our meal we selected a nice wine from their pretty decent wine list. For breakfast we had a Heather Mountain Pancake cooked souffle style. What a treat! We had to wait for it but it was definitely worth the wait. While we waited we enjoyed our coffee and watched the sun rise on the nearby mountain tops.More
