It was our last day in our excellent golf adventure and we wanted a nice meal to end our vacation...so we looked on trip advisor and found this resteraunt in old town...when we got there it looked wrong as it was in a little strip mall between a drop in clinic and a used store across from social services...it's not... It was our second visit and this time for lunch instead of dinner. I had the crab cakes and they were excellent. More crab than cake! My husband had the Montreal Smoked Meat sand which which he said was very good and he should know from having lived many years in Montreal. Bisque will be our "go to" restaurant in... More

We walked from the Old House, lovely Riverside walk. We were seated by the window, nice quiet ambiance. Ordered the special Escargot & Mussel Appy. To die for! The sauce was exquisite. Then came salad ( again, amazing dressing) and ravioli, with another amazing sauce. Coconut prawns saved for a midnight snack, delicious. Totally recommend this restaurant! Koodos to the... More

The chef is multi talented and everything on the menu looks and tastes good but my favorite is the seafood that he prepares. The rock fish is always done to perfection: flakey, moist, and bursting with flavor. I am also impressed with the service. I have watched them turn customers away when they feel they have all the customers they... More

On a visit to Vancouver Island I was looking for a place to eat in Courtenay, a pleasant community of 13 000 or so on the east coast of the Island. The name 'Bisque' came up online, and I went shortly after noon on a Wednesday. It was not crowded. Bisque is quite small with perhaps ten or fifteen tables,... More

We were looking for seafood pasta for my birthday and I spent hours trying to find a place. We sought out Bisque, which is down a sidestreet. It was a very plain place that looked more like a coffee shop. Perhaps it was nicer inside; it was not. The music was twangy country and too loud. I asked if they... More

The schnitzel and fries were the best I have had in the Comox Valley and believe me I have been on the hunt for good schnitzel. Everything made from scratch, even the pasta......now that is hard to find today. Food was superb. Sometimes it's all about the food not the decor.

Had tried to eat there a couple of weeks ago, but it was their day off. So, on a second trip (we are from out of town), we did find it open. It is a bit "stark" perhaps needs a bit of ? something to give it a bit more of an up-scale look. Perhaps a few live plants, background... More

Bisque is one of our go-to's for lunch, with the occasional dinner. The food is always fresh and tasty. I love the Hunter's toast! The french fries are very good and salads crunchy and flavorful. Very positive reviews from my dining companions about the seafood and specials. The service is always personable and fast. Great hidden gem - don't be... More
