I have ordered online twice now and not being in BC and trying to order without seeing things first hand is always tricky, but Hot Chocolates has been great to deal with and very helpful from a distance.
At Christmas I ordered a loaded gift basket to be delivered to my daughter and honestly I could not have been more impressed. The basket was absolutely loaded with beautiful chocolates, baking and other goodies. The kids were thrilled to receive this and couldn't believe how much stuff was inside - all delicious.
I recently ordered a 30th birthday, socially distant, Tiramisu and was absolutely impressed with how beautiful it was and my daughter said it was scrumptious.
Hot Chocolates has been wonderful to deal with online, their responses to inquiries is very good and I will continue to be a customer and hope to get there in person soon. I highly recommend.

Hot chocolates is world class chocolate in our small town. Milk, Dark or white in truffles and interesting shapes for any occasion. Always a great treat or gift.
Sharing the space is another treat of real, chewy, crumby texture bread and beautiful, tasty cakes for special occasions. Nice to come for a scone and hot chocolate made with real chocolate shavings and a loaf of sunny hunny bread for later!
A bonus is selection and tasting of oils and vinegars and local salt.

A very good bakery coffee shop and a very place to buy very nice good tasting delicious and very yummy chocolates and very good friendly respectful caring hard working staff who are always very happy to serve their customers and clean place with very strict COVID-19 safety policies and very strict enforcement of COVID-19 safety mask wearing rules. I strongly recommend checking this place out you will love it. There is takeout only.

So you’re driving through Courtenay on Vancouver Island and you feel like a cup of coffee? You’re first instinct is to go to Timmies right? BIG MISTAKE! Hot Chocolates not only has superior coffee but they also offer fresh baked goods, all baked on site. Bread, pastries, ice cream and Gelato, chocolate truffles and peanut brittle, infused oils and vinegars, it’s all here. Come in, order, sit down and relax. No drive through here, just a great local cafe with a European feel that will leave you wanting more. If they rented rooms I’d live here.

I have come here for a variety of reasons - the specialty oils, the incredible baked goods..... and those chocolates! Most recently I am dropping in to buy some truffles or hot cocoa mix gift boxes. I never seem to run out of ideas for treats when I walk in the door here!

Best bread ever! Garlic sourdough and the cheese bread was amazing. Greek Croisant was outstanding. Cream cheese cinnamon roll was to die for. Huge selection of Dutch liquorice. Go early to get the bread it sells out fast. Or, order ahead. Too good to miss!!

Lemon meringue cake is the best one that I've tried and perfect to share with friends. The small cake feeds about 8-10thin slices.

I went and bought a couple of chocolate bars just before Easter so end of March and I was so impressed with the service and how fast these girls were working. It was so busy and that they continue to be professional courteous

Everything about this place is great. The baked goods are wonderful, of course. The lunch options are limited but very good indeed. The coffee is excellent.

Such a beautiful shop and so delicious! I can’t resist a stop anytime I’m in the area! Their dark chocolate chilli truffles are my favourite! Or maybe the see salt caramels!

Lots of tasty treats here at Hot Chocolates. Try one of there amazing cakes from Cake Bread too! Every Christmas they make shortbread fingers which are amazing!
