Mudsharks Coffee is located at 255 6th street in downtown Courtenay. We are a local community coffee shop where it is a great place to meet people or to sit quietly and enjoy a fantastic cup of coffee and great food. Impromptu stop for coffee, ended up eating an amazing breakfast in the shade of a massive tree on the patio surrounded by the sounds of the birds above. My avacado egg wrap was outstanding and a healthy choice. The mocha was made exactly the way I like it

Live in courtenay and have often grabbed a bite to eat or drink here. Vegetarian menu is great. Lots of options. Staff are friendly and caring. The duel patio between muddies and Gladstone brewing is spacious and provides flexibility

Stopped in with friends while in area. Very busy place. Ordered an Americano and the hummus wrap. Both were excellent. The wrap was tasty with curried rice, shredded beets/carrot and spinach. Very colourful.. Lots of flavour.
A bit on the pricey side but enjoyed my meal.

No idea when this place changed owners and frankly I don't care.
The coffee is the usual darkened dishwater quality and the 'delicious cakes ' the usual days old cellophane wrapped tosh. Admittedly my idea of vegetarian food is that its a wonderful thing - all that avocado , exotic ground rice with unprounouncable names and grated carrot. Scrummy (all it needs is a bit of bacon and you're laughing..). But the food on offer here is predictably tasteless and basic as you would expect for the area. The hip , right on servers (I'm guessing they wouldn't know a decent band if it played live in their Yurt) were completely uninterested.
A typical Courtenay hang - dull and pointless with nothing to offer.

Mudsharks has moved to a new location, just a few blocks to the south. It has gone from the dated hippy vibe to a more urban one. This is a step in the right direction.
Unfortunately, the food quality has not gotten better.
The croissant sandwiches continue to be barely filled, and need of something to give more body, like lettuce, sprouts, tangy mayo?
The Moroccan Bowl was possibly the worst lunch for $12.95 I had in the past few years. The soupy dahl was more reminiscent of a street Indian curry than anything from Rabat. The black bean rice was just warm and lacking flavour. The mango chutney, again more Bombay than north African, was out of a bottle. Served in a deep bowl, yet barely came half full.
Would truly like to see this dish done better. Cous-cous? Mint? Lemons? Cardamom?

This was our first visit when in Courtenay but it sure won't be our last. Already looking forward to the next visit.
If you're vegan, they have several choices for food and beverages. The staff were friendly and answered our questions, offering suggestions. Service was fast too.
The food was delicious! I had the Glory Bowl and my husband had the Mexican (chili) Bowl and an oat latte. Everything was full of flavour and the coffee great.
How refreshing to find a place with plenty of choices for vegans. But you sure don't need to be vegan or vegetarian to eat here. Check it out! We may see you there.

If you like strong coffee, then this is the place. The Dulse soup is wonderful and the staff are usually friendly. The inside is small however the outside sitting area, which on even cool winter days has folks out having their coffee with friends is lovely. Is great if you want to bring your dog to walk around downtown and have a bite to eat.

Cute cafe with nice atmosphere. We went here because of all the vegan options. We brought my non vegan dad and everyone had something they’d like. I really liked the vegan lox!

This is a busy cafe and has quite a number items. We had a ham and cheese croissant which did not seem particularly crispy and a so-called chick club sandwich which was about 6 inches long and about 3 inches wide and only just had enough of the required ingredients to make it carry the name. Eaten in less than 2 mins. Very expensive and certainly not worth the price.

A very nice-fantastic and beautiful coffee shop located in Downtown Courtenay and a must go to place to chill and relax and be friendly. 100% good and effient customer service provided by loyal-dedicated-caring-loving-happy-good hearted-friendly and hard working staff featuring the 1 and only Geneva and very extremely dellicious food including chocolate chip cookies and vegan bliss balls. I always have a very positive experience and I always recieve a lot of TLC at Mudsharks. So come on down for some good food and some good times. Hey everybody peace out and have a nice day. Cheers.
