Decided to try this restaurant since we were close by for a medical appointment anyway. The menu was a bit limited and there were only a couple of options for the vegetarian in our group. Prices were really high, with lunch costing each of us almost $20 plus tip. Save some money and head a short way up the road for better food at a more reasonable price.

We had lunch here today. Our food was delayed so after talking to the waitress and the manager, we did receive our food. The crab cake salad was delicious. The fish tacos were lukewarm (at best), but tasted great. We were pleased that the manager worked with us and did give us 20% off our meals.

Thoroughly recommend. We stopped for lunch on a very hot day. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious, so a few days later we returned for dinner and the experience was first rate too. It was again hot and we had driven a long way; I inadvertently ordered a dish I wasn't expecting, but the manager was more than kind. He recommended an alternative meal which he thought I would prefer and had it prepared freshly for me, and he didn't charge me for the first meal. This was above and beyond our expectations. I am surprised to see here that this restaurant has had mixed reviews. We couldn't fault the staff, the food or the beautiful waterside location.

On two separate occasions we attempted to get food fromQuay West, first I had bad knees from work while on vacation and wanted to get take out delivered to be told sorry we only do delivery on Friday and Saturday which put an end to that. On the second occasion we attempted to get a table at the restaurant, we eat when we are hungry rather than go by set times so it was 3.45 to be told sorry we are not taking customers right now as the staff are taking a break. Really all at the same time when you have only been open since 11.30. Can’t your staff take breaks at various times to maintain your customers satisfaction. Again I am assume related to the short staff thing and CoVid.

Was invited to go to a wedding dinner/reception and was so disappointed. Beautiful location but my food was cold (fish), was never asked if I wanted a drink from the bar , then had to flag someone down just to get coffee. Dinner was cleared and we had to wait for a long time before plates were brought out for the cake My partners beef was well over cocked and was given the heel which was very tough and dinner was totally cold as well! I had such great hopes!

May go back for beers on the patio this summer but not for a meal. I had one spoonful of the seafood ? chowder left the rest. The Cesar salad dressing was fine but the lettuce was getting a little old. The server was so inattentive, only saw her when she took out uneaten food away. When I called for a reservation I was told. that to be out by 7 pm we should book a table for 5:30 as they would be very busy........mmmm not so much. They deducted the price of the soup $9 as compensation but still felt the need to explain that it was not “clam chowder “ but their own special recipe. This restaurant needs a lot of work to get back to where it was before.

We sat in the outdoor patio overlooking the water. We had a glass of Honey Brown lager, an order of focaccia, calamari, seafood chowder and seafood spaghetti. After tax, the final bill was $72. With the setting, the food, and the service, it was well worth it. The calamari was interesting, the batter wasn't crispy; The calamari was served on top of vegetables, may be that's why the exterior was soft, but it was still tasty and enjoyable. The seafood chowder tasted great with the coconut milk. The amount of ingredient was generous, especially the real crab meat. The seafood spaghetti was also generous in portion, the fish was just a touch over, but the pawns were great. I would recommend this restaurant.

We had visitors from Alberta that wanted fish & chips so we decided to spend our time here. We have had the fish & chips here before and it was always great. We weren't disappointed this time either. All 4 of us had the Halibut fish & chips and it was cooked perfectly. The fish was so moist and flaky and very tasty. We love it. The waitress was very happy and friendly and took care of all our needs.

I do not mind paying $24 for two fish tacos or even $34 as long as there is fish on it. Each tacos had literally 4 tiny flakes of fish. Low quality store bought taco shells with low quality store bought dressing. We enjoyed view and drinks and went home to eat . Good place to go for a drink and enjoy the view but that’s sit unfortunately!

Wonderful experience for dinner at Quay West! My friend and I decided that we would do our first meal in a restaurant since the Covid 19 put an end to eating out. We were glad that we chose Quay West because it was evident that they had taken every precaution necessary to make dining in their restaurant very safe. At the entrance there was a table set up with hand sanitizer. We also noticed that staff was maintaining a safe physical distance from each other and from everyone that entered the restaurant. They had removed the majority of tables and chairs, so everyone seated had plenty of space around them. For this reason I would suggest making a reservation because it will be harder to get a table. Our server, who was super sweet, greeted us with a mask on and I noticed that all staff were wearing masks. Our drinks and our food was served on a tray, which was placed on the table and then our server stepped back, so we could always maintain the necessary physical distance. I noticed staff was constantly cleaning and wiping things down. The washroom was one of the cleanest restaurant washrooms I've been in and with an automatic flush on the toilet and automatic on/off tap, there was no need to touch anything. We enjoyed a generous portion of delicious halibut and chips and the amazing Quay West burger. There were people sitting outside on the patio, but we enjoyed the view of the ocean and mountains from inside. When it was time to pay the credit card machine was placed in a new plastic bag, so there was no handling of the machine between people. If you are hesitant about eating out, there is no need to worry at Quay West.....they are doing it right!

The location is nice. It started with the reception by a young lady who probably didn't feel like it. The table we got was dirty and she would clean it, but what was ultimately left behind on the table was a water ballet. When asked to dry it, the lady was quite irritated and she reluctantly did so and it was still wet so she decided to dry it herself (we could not get the menus off the table as they had become stuck to the table 🤣 😊). Now the drinking and eating. The ice tea tasted like ditch water and one of the poke bowls was tasty and the other was not; my daughter felt guilty and wanted to pay for it herself because she had not eaten the poke bowl. The rest was okayish. Now we are looking forward to the crème brule dessert. The pudding was tasty, but the icing layer was pitch black, so you could clearly taste the burnt taste. I would look for another restaurant.

The pacific rim chowder was a joke. Potato and corn stew with 4 small shrimp. Baked oysters were so salty (I don't know why) I could barley eat them. Will not be going back sorry to say after many great meals before.

We had an enjoyable evening meal here, sitting outside on the patio overlooking the harbour and park. Service was friendly and quick, and the food was delicious. It was hard to choose from the menu, but I had the coconut curry rice bowl with prawns, and was not disappointed.

Due to the Covid restrictions we had takeout dinner and enjoyed it in the nearby park. The food was ready as promised and pick up was easy. We enjoyed the smoked salmon dip, seafood crepes and strip loin dip with huge onion rings, all delicious!

Besides the awe inspiring scenery and wildlife dining in Campbell River is a seafood lover's delight. Highly recommend the Quay West Kitchen which features some of the very best seafood in British Columbia. Tonight's meal was their Warm Seafood Caeser salad which was packed with salmon, snapper and shrimp, absolutely delicious. In addition the staff is both friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Also, don't miss their Vanilla Bread pudding.
