Hi there Thank you for your review! We appreciate your feedback. We try and reach out when people have a poor experience to see if we can make things right. Hoping you could give the shop a call @ 250 830 1155 and contact Crabby...More
We had a fantastic meal of oysters on the half shell and a seafood boil. The seafood chowder was also excellent. The ambience of being on the dock on a beautiful sunny day was excellent. The staff was friendly. It was not a fast meal...though - so would recommend making sure you have time available to not rush the experience. (There are relatively few places in the mid island serving freshly shucked oysters - this was a real treat).More
This place was super yum, I want to eat their whole menu! Don’t skip it! We had the chowder, steamed clams and smoked salmon. I want to go back and try the seafood sampler.
We have been before and bot fresh live crab and it was awesome this time we had them cook for us, fresh oysters on a half shell, freshly steamed crab and bowels of seafood chowder, all were absoloutly outstanding, staff were very freindly and nice...we will go again the next time we are in Campbell RiverMore
Fantastic stop at what is really a special place. Basically a seafood market on the water but they manage to run a small kitchen -- I saw only three outside tables. We had wonderful oysters which were taken from the adjacent water plus the seafood...box (enough for two). Marvelous scallops which are small and tasty, but apparently they can skim across the water quite fast. Service was excellent as the manager kept checking on how we were doing. Only soft drinks. We felt as we were in a TV show or movie about unusual places to eat! The shop is hard to find if you are not in a boat on the water. The experience is exceptional!More
Thanks for the review❤️❤️ We appreciate your feedback and love how you describe our little shop. We are family owned and operated and take pride in all areas of our business. We are glad you found us and had the opportunity to have a bite...More
This is a boat in the fishers harbour with fresh seafood that they cook at the moment. There is not alcohol for sale but you can find all type of beverages. Friendly people. Simple cooking of fresh seafood. You can also buy some canadian salmon...patées and seasonings. Near the pier and a charm overview to the boats, the sea, the mountains.More
Thanks for stopping by and also for sharing your experience. If your in the neighborhood again pop by and say hi😁
I couldn't be more surprised to be honest. It's not special in appearance from the outside - their main business is fresh seafood sales after all but they know how to cook up a pot of chowder to be sure ! Lots of fresh bites...in the bowl and the broth just makes you want more. Yes, I will be back again - this was too good to pass up in a future visit hereMore
We always order BC spot prawns, crab, and lobster from Crabby Bob's. Abby and her staff are the best. You can order ahead by phone or Facebook before the sell out. Always fresh and local.
Half small crab ( wasn’t cracked ) and “swimming scallops”…$35 Didn’t even get slaw in the take away. Should have trusted my hesitation about ordering from here. Spent $95 for this and half crab and chowder ( watery left overs) box and steam shellfish box....One of the ladies working here is the most cantankerous person we’ve come across in the service industry. Do yourself a favor and order your seafood elsewhere.More
Thanks for your review! To bad you didnt let us know of your unhappy experience. Our crabs came cracked as you recieved half. We dont do the work to get the meat thats part of the experience. Not sure if you notice the cost of...More
Abby was super friendly , the shellfish was fresh and awesome. We will make a point to. Come back when we visit Campbell River.
Chef Lee is superb! He creates a beautiful display of fresh seafood that is above and beyond delicious! The Steamed shellfish platter was stunning with a large variety to taste. It was so delicious we returned the next day for the charcuterie board which was...magnificent. The chef gives you generous portions which you will appreciate as you tackle your way through the plate. Don’t miss this fun stop at the pier. We will be back next year when we visit the island again.More
I have been hearing about these seafood platters done by Crabby Bob's Seafood & I saw a review about a Christmas platter from another person on this website. who has her option about them, so I thought I would make a review, I have to...stay the comment about tasteless cold seafood from the fridge, sorta shocked me. when eating chilled seafood is best served with warm garlic butter & let alone seafood is best left simple. Good seafood should not need a lot of seasoning. when you complain about coming from the fridge would you rather it of been on the counter all day? Safe food handling practices in BC would require a business to keep food at safe temperatures. When I ordered my platter I was told it was chilled( cold) and recommend to heat the garlic butter and eat it that way. For the Crab being $35. 00, think about it this way you have to pay for the crab at the current price of crab by its weight & it still needs to be killed, cooked & then placed on to the platter. so for $35 bucks, not a bad deal. The Platter I have had from them over the past few times I have eaten here this past year has been a crab boil this past summer, a smoked salmon platter, 3 crab platter, steam shellfish & one of my favorite is there seafood chowder this past fall. I don't know who is the young gentlemen is every time I come in and order or pick up my order. But he's always cooking & you can see the passion & love he puts into his food even if it's not a typical restaurant. I would be very interested to see what he could do if he had an actual kitchen to work in. Fantastic food, outgoing staff, the best small business in this small little town.More

my daughters ordered a seafood platter for me for Xmas it cost $150. I asked for another crab which cost an extra $35. What we got was a platter of tasteless cold seafood from the frig.,just piled on the dish. We were very disappointed. The...food might be good when eaten on site but I would not buy another platterMore
Hey there Thanks for your review! However we would have liked the opportunity to speak with you directly rather then responding here. All of our platters leave our shop chilled otherwise if they leave hot they continue to cook and food safe rules dont allow...More
We stopped for a quick bite, to which we just grabbed two bowls of chowder and some bread. The soup was average, it was pretty thin, and had some heat to it. All I can say is that on a cool blustery day, the hot...soup did its job. This place rather looks like a good option to by a good assortment of very fresh seafood to take home and prepare.More
Thanks for your review!
We were camping in the area and looking for fresh seafood. We bought 4 live crabs that were on special. They were cracked and cleaned ready for us to cook which was great. We wanted fresh salmon which wasn’t available so bought 2 sockeye salmon...fillets that were cryovac packaged. A few days later when we went to thaw them we noticed they had been frozen 14 months ago. We did some research and found they shouldn’t be selling frozen food past 6 months. We did eat them and they were fine but we didn’t expect something like that from a place that comes so highly recommended.More
Thank you for reaching out to us via email so we could explain the reasoning behind your concerns. Due to a shortage of local sockeye we did bring some processed down from alaska and at this time this is what was available. Not our normal...More
