Unfortunately this place is right on a main road. Food wasn't bad but can't really rave about it either. Idk...I would probably go again, order something different, but I'd probably also try somewhere with more atmosphere for my style.

So great to have such a consistent restaurant in our neighborhood, food and service is always excellent. Best Taco salad in CR for sure. A great menu, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, salads, something for everyone. My friend had the Backyard burger and said it was the...best he has ever had. I ordered the fish tacos thinking this was a safe bet because I could see the ocean from the restaurant. This fish was deep fried in thick batter and was cold. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said they’re supposed to be cold...because of the cold ingredients in the taco. When I tried to explain that the pieces of fish had been out of the deep fryer for far too long, she pretty much ignored me and made absolutely no attempt to understand my concern. Additionally, the tacos were terrible, even if the fish would’ve been warm.More

Our first visit to SoCal was a great experience:) we had a very attentive server and we were actually surprised at how well staffed they were. The server kept up constant communication with us regarding our drink and food orders. The food was good and...the drinks were great. All the portions were large and no one was able to finish their entrees. Lots of fresh ingredients and a menu that has something for everyone. Patio is super cute and We will definitely go back. I can’t wait to try different entrees.More

We came here for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. Food was good, drinks were good, and our initial server was good as well. Our night took an odd turn at the very end from a service stand point. We had paid and were...just finishing up our drinks while waiting for our ride when a different server came over and cleared our table. By cleared I mean I took a sip of my half full drink, put it on the table, and the server looked me dead in the eyes and took it from me. It turns out they were closing and clearly in a hurry to have drinks of their own as most of the staff had already started. We got the not to subtle hint and went outside where we found another group who had exactly the same experience! A little communication would have gone a long way in this situation. Not sure I’ll be back.More

Food was good and our initial server was very friendly. But after we had paid and we were finishing our drinks and waiting for our Taxi they took our half full drinks off the table and told us to leave. They wanted us out as...quick as possible the staff could start drinking. Doubt i will ever go back.More

I've been to Socal a few times and was always pleased but not this time. The server we had wasn't very friendly, seemed in a hurry to take our order. The meal portion was much smaller than usual. I had the fish tacos; there was...a bone in my fish which was sharp (if a child was eating this, he/she could have easily choked). I mentioned it to our server - whether she told the chef or not, I don't know. The tacos consisted of two small fish chunks and lots of what I'd call coleslaw and some sauce. My friend had a 'dry' burger. The french fry portions were noticeably smaller also. Gone are the days when you might have gotten a bit of a discount or an apology for having to fish a fish bone out of your mouth....definitely takes away from the dining-out experience. I won't be returning any time soon.More

We staying in Campbell River for a little over a week. This was hands down the best meal we had. I only took one point off because when we were waiting to be seated, they took our phone number and said they would call us...when a table was ready. We sat outside and watched as at least 3 other parties got seated before us (that arrived after us). When we finally went up to ask what was happening, they sat us right away. So not sure if they forgot us or what? Other than that, the service was pretty good.More

We waited, with a reservation, at the door while someone forged ahead claiming he had ordered takeout and while Skip The Dishes also went ahead. One of us ordered fish tacos. It was ice cold so we complained and a fresh one was brought in....The Beef fahitas which were “so so” and we had to ask for more tortillas. All in all a very ho hum experience.More

The service , the meal it was all great !! The meal was delicious , the street tacos were great and the fajitas were fantastic. Price is reasonable as well , the margaritas were super !

The food was good (and bonus points for live music!!), and i recommend for anyone who is not vegan/vegetarian. I have been to SoCal twice and both times ordered a green salad...very disappointed, it would be great to see more plant-based and inclusive options in...the future.More

We are a couple that have appreciated the excellent level of service for a number of years. We enjoy the happy hour wine and tapas. This time we ordered steak bites and 8 layer dip. The 8 layer dip was standard as usual. The steak...bites were disgusting!! After tasting only a couple of bites we told them how bad they were. We asked to try the chicken wings instead of trying the bites again. The manager was meant to come and chat to us, but that never happened so we went without food. For over an hour. There was no communication, we had no idea what was happening! We are long time customers that felt left adrift. I dont know what to say, why would i come back when i can get better service from other restaurants in the area ! We went to this restaurant because we had a bad day and needed to celebrate life, celebrate the small things. Too bad they accentuate the bad rather than help us with our day and our regulars hardly talked to us ! ...... did i mention that we are long time customers,,, We felt ignored.
