This is not your Five stars restaurant ,so ,you pay what you get! In New Westminster ,there is not much GOOD Indian restaurants around ,I hear they under New Management , (OWNER ? ) I was in the neighborhood , so I dropped in for...quite lunch ,,outside looks vwer scuzzy ,,lot of parking on the side street , inside very small and do not feel welcome ,looks like mum & , papa operation ,not very clean , ,they offer lunch buffet only from Monday to Friday for $11.50 include tax , very poor selections ,or should I say No selections , only curry ,curry , rice ,, but for &11.50 ,what more can you ask for ,just so so quite fix if you hunger for foods , for sure I will not go back ,I rater pay more and go to more mordant comfort Indian restaurant , less I know what I eating . there is a lot for new management to improve on ,good luck .More

They do not honor Groupon and will refuse to accept it with all sorts of BS logics. We purchased a Groupon for a dinner for TWO and FOUR. when I tried their food for the first time, we didn't like it so i tried to...use my groupon for 4 people for take out and I talked with owner, to use just the amount that i paid( $20 ) but he didn't accept and he was very rude and greedy. Will never return here for another meal nor recommend anyone.More

This place should be closed. Absolute worst restaurant that the two of us have ever visited. I don't have time to share the whole story, but the experience was so traumatic we will never be able to forget it. This place has a bad reputation,...continually fails health inspections. I would stick to a restaurant downtown, not something run down like this place.More

At the time of payment the owner who...was very rude said that the coupons say FOUR. We argued that we did however, purchase 4 items but his argument was that there should be FOUR people as well. This is the logic of typical Punjabi style business. The Groupon doesn't specify whether it should be 4 people or 4 items. So the owner used 4 "people" to win his argument. Will never return here for another meal nor recommend anyone.More

Save 13$ from the bill. Order lamb biriyani ( huge serving ) good for two people. Wife order lamb sheesh kebab.. a bit dry but overall everything good. Will come back here. Parking at the back for 6-8 cars. Mango lassi was good. Naan and...roti home made ..More

It is a small clean restaurant and highly recommended. We went for lunch and enjoyed everything we ate. The eggplant dish and butter chicken were good. Service was also good. Highly recommend it.

We went in on Friday evening and ordered spinach palak ,chana somosas, bhindi bhaji,vegetable biryani and garlic naan. ( we are vegetarians) We have eaten there before and it has been fine. This time we both got stomach aches that night and bad tummy's for...2 days after. Wondered if it was food that had sat on the buffet at lunch as some of the food did seem very over cooked.More

This little place serves decent food but there are many much better--and better priced--places elsewhere in the lower mainland. I ordered the fish curry, which had a good sauce, but the fish was unrecognizable as any fish that I know! The malai kofta was pretty...good, as was the naan. Along 6th Street, near the Burnaby-New Westminster border, a rather unassuming restaurant named Desi Turka Indian Cuisine serves up some fairly good East Indian fare. If it wasn’t for the aroma of Indian spices emanating from restaurant, you’d hardly know that it was there. Inside...the smallish restaurant (about 28-30 seats), the decor is sparse yet well maintained. On all of my visits during the weekday lunch hour, it was hardly busy and I was usually the only one there. They’ve mentioned that it gets busier during the evening and that they have a fairly robust take-out business. On my first visit, I opted for their Lamb Curry Lunch Special ($8.95) which comes with rice, naan, dal, raita, and a slightly sweet rice pudding. I thought that the rice was a bit on the dry side but the lamb was quite good with tender chunks in a medium spicy sauce. The naan was also quite good with a crispness to the exterior while the inside parts were soft and fluffy. Personally, I’m not a big fan of raita – the cold, milky-like yoghurt never really caught on with me. On my next visit, I decided to try something from their regular menu and picked the Chicken Vindaloo ($12.75). I have a soft spot for vindaloo from watching countless hours of Red Dwarf. You can pick your level of spiciness and I’ve found that their “medium” isn’t overly spicy. The chicken thigh meat had a nice bit of charring on the outside of some of the pieces. Since the dish is served à la carte, I ordered a side of Pulau Rice ($4.25) to accompany it. The Basmati rice is cooked in onions, spices and green peas and works perfectly in sopping up the tasty curry sauce.More

DINGY atmosphere with zero parking. The FOOD PORTIONS are so SMALLl that you will leave hungry or ordering more food. The lunch menu or dinner menu remains the same at the same price. The Butter chicken is 13.95 which comes without anything...no rice, no naan,...and the portion you get is almost invisible. We got ill after eating here too...within an 1 hr there was cramping in the gut. The weekday buffet is 4 different trays....hardly call that a buffet! DO NOT EAT THERE! So many wonderful Indian Restaurant in the GVRD..this is not one of them!More

I was trying to use Groupon. When I entered the establishment and showed the Grouon, the waitress said, "No problem, what would you like." After the dinner, another waitress comes and says I couldn't use it because we weren't 4 people. She would insist that...I pay cash and cannot use Groupon. It ruined my date, which otherwise would have been a great day. Still fuming! By the way, they will nickel and dime you for everything. Their refill of chai costs.More
