Very shady! They give empty promises! I didn't eat my salad as it tasted old. The server mentioned that the manger said I would get my next meal free because of the poor quality (I did not bring the salad to the server's attention). After I paid, I asked the serve if I would get a voucher for my free... More

I thought that my wife and I had dined at every Greek restaurant in Burnaby so we found this restaurant to a surprising discovery. The atmosphere was quite relaxing and the decor authentic. My wife and I were greeted almost immediately and shown to our table. The service throughout was great. Our water glasses were never empty. My wife had... More

The chicken souvlaki was delicious. The chicken was well cooked and presented without the skewer which it so much nicer for the customer. I substituted additional salad for the rice and potatoes; several others made substitutions as well. The salad was a traditional greek salad, onions, peppers, cucumber and tomatoes but was lacking a bit of flavour likely due to... More

I ate here with friends. As soon as I walked in, a man and two women just eyed me up and down and didn't say anything. I found my friends and went to the table. The hummus had zero flavour and the pita bread was hard. We were the only table on a Saturday night - odd. There were kids... More

Friday night and the place was empty and that should have told the story. Greek musak does not make a Greek restaurant. Waitperson seemed reluctant to approach closer than 10 feet, no welcome, no connection at all. Food was strange, a mix of tasty (the lamb) and the completely inedible (potatoes - too salty to get beyond a mouthful). Mid-range... More

Had a great dolmades dinner. My son had the chicken souvlaki. Our dinners were served with a small Greek salad, rice, Greek roasted potatoes, tzatziki and a basket of hot pitas to share. Our meal only took about 15 minutes to be served. Service was great. Food was great. My son resides nearby, says he has been here many times... More

We eat here all the time. We have been going here for the last 10 years and we love it. Great food, great service! They always remember us when we come in, and know our food and drink orders. The owners are wonderful people!

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid it at all costs. I have never in my life had such horrendous service as I did at Socrates. It appears that customer service is not their forte. We were verbally abused by 2 of the staff - yelled at and sworn at. All because we pointed out an error that... More
