A small menu full of top-quality food. We have home for a few romantic dinners here and took my mother-in-law when she came to visit. Every time we go, the service impeccable and the food is amazing! Make sure to make reservations since there are...only a few tables, but if you are booking last-minute give them a call, they may have a cancelation, so you could get lucky. This is, by far, the best food in Okotoks.More

I can't say enough good things about this quaint and cozy restaurant. The husband and wife owners are also the server/host/chef. They do not rush you out of the restaurant; it is dining as it should be. There is background music, but it is at...a level that you can still carry on a conversation. Every dish we tried was flavourful, delicious and made to order.More

This restaurant is small and quaint, be sure to make a reservation. Open for lunch then again for dinner. Always meets expectations. No item selected would ever disappoint. True value for your money. Charismatic Host!

What a great way to meet some old friends as COVID restrictions were eased across the province. It was simply delicious, with easy-going, friendly service and just great value for the meal. From the very beginning with the bread and the balsamic and maple dip...to the end was so tasty. I can't think of a time when I have had a tenderloin as delicious as the one I ate, but all parts of the meal were outstanding. I also had a half order of their broccoli and potato soup which was wonderful, so well made. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the plates were cleaned off entirely. A great experience! Call ahead - very limited seating.More

My husband and I went for our Valentine dinner to this small, quaint French restaurant in Old Town Okotoks. It is small...you need a reservation...and they fill up quickly! The 2 owners are the only ones there...him greeting and serving and her cooking! The food...was good but warm, not hot, when it arrived to our table. We felt a bit of salt would have enhanced the mashed potatoes and no condiments were on the table. Overall, we did enjoy the meal and the ambiance of the place, as well as the friendliness of the owners. One appetizer of soup, 2 entrees and a half bottle of wine came to $100...a reasonable price we felt. We would return and recommend this restaurant to friends.More

My wife and I have been there twice now and have had a great meal and experience both times. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant and love the fact that you are not rushed through your meal... the table is yours all evening! (Until you...experience this you have no idea how wonderful that is). The service both times have been exceptional. Relax and enjoy the experience... you will be well taken care of. The food is delicious and well portioned. (Again, the fact that you can eat at your own pace means you’ll be eating a lot.) They seem to use a lot of local ingredients which is a treat. Save room for desert, the creme brûlée (2 kinds) are too good to pass up. All in all this a gem of a restaurant. Looking forward to our next date night. Hopefully soon.More

My daughter lives in Okotoks, AB and I have always enjoyed the food and warm ambiance @ Bistro 1882. Ed Povhe and his wife never disappoint with their homemade, delightful menus. This latest trip we arrived for lunch with both happy meat eaters and 2...vegans. Omnivores are rarely a restaurant issue, but my daughter and I were catered to most beautifully as vegans. This can be a challenge in a community that prides itself on its meat production. Ed never turned a hair- homemade squash and pumpkin soup finished with coconut milk, gorgeous sourdough bread with vegan butter and freshly made bruschetta. Pictured is a Bistro 1882 Buddha Bowl that was delectable. A well thought out wine list and fresh fruit sorbets. The regular menu charmed our friends- Quiche Lorraine, yummy sandwiches and substantial burgers and beautiful desserts. What impressed me the most, though, was Ed and his wife’s attitude of, “what can we do to make your dining experience memorable, whatever your food choices may be.” This Bistro is all about the diner as opposed to the chef’s ego.More

So grateful when we discover new places. About a year ago, we were looking for a place to have lunch before traveling into the city to do shopping. So I got out my phone and goggled ‘restaurants near me’. Well this place popped up so...we decided to give it a try 😀 It was excellent!! We actually now have gone back 2 more times - another lunch and tonight dinner!! We highly recommend it!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do 😀More

I love the quiet atmosphere, no tv's and very quiet background music. The personal service is not something you get very often. I just love this restaurant. I know that everything they use is fresh and made in house. I go here for my birthday...every year. They remember my favourite drinks, soup, and dessert.More

Slightly east of the main down in a little grey building that you could easily miss, is the one of the nicest lunch spots that I have found in ages. The couple that owns and runs this little gem are very friendly and focused on...delivering quality food. I had the Bistro Provence salad, spinach, giar cheese, tomato, bacon , assiago cheese, topped with a poached egg and the homemade house dressing. This is a very delicious salad and the poached egg added that little something different and I was really enjoying every bite. My husband ordered the Carrot, ginger soup which was home made and it was extremely flavorful (i stole a bite) and the French Panini, honey, grainy mustard, brie cheese and smoked ham which he quickly gobbled up. Both my husband and I will definetly be back the next time we are in Okotoks and may even venture back to try the dinner menu.More

Everyone that visits here in Okotoks chooses the Bistro for lunch. Ed greets you and makes you feel welcome and gives you all the time you need. He describes every item on the menu and never leaves you feeling rushed. The menu is a single...page with all homemade items on that menu. You will never go wrong choosing the Bistro Provence for lunch. I have never been there for supper, but by all accounts that is outstanding too.More

This is not something you'd expect to find in a smaller community like Okotoks. It offers an experience which is authentic, with great food, but not in any way pretentious. The owners provide the service and it's friendly and fun. Also efficient. The food is...also delicious, I guess I should mention that. I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's worth seeking out.More
