On a warm long weekend , we thought an evening on a patio overlooking the pretty canals in Airdrie would be perfect. We love Mexican food and had been here a year earlier,. That was not a good experience so we thought we would try...it again. We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio as it was a warm Saturday night and many people had the same idea. Drinks - on the pricier side, a caesar is $10.25 and $14.25 for a 2 ounce margarita. They were tasty and hand poured, I didnt mind paying for that. What I do mind paying for is bottled water. Ice water from the tap is not offered here if you can believe that. I do not want bottled water. We live in a city that has one of the best, mountain river fed water in the world. This is a restaurant that has spicy food, I know many people share my disbelief in not having ice water for their customers. It is ridiculous and makes them look incredibly bad. Dont expect large portions . The guacamole with tortellias ($11.25) was bland. Salt was needed in it and there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table. The queso fundito ($10.75) was a small cup of melted white cheese in a plastic cup with tortellia chips in a plastic netted container that you would get at the dollar store. Investing in Mexican pottery or ceramic dishes would greatly enhance the atmosphere. The overall atmosphere is like this -a half hearted attempt to have a Mexican Feista theme , but cheaping out on things like plastic dishes and no jugs of cold icewater for customers. The only other Mexican restaurants that are in town are fast food. There is nothing wrong with fast food but sometimes you like to sit down and have an adult drink. They know they are the only sit down Mexican restaurant and are clearly taking advantage of that. I hope another place opens soon and gives them a run for their money. Our waitress was good, somewhat on the shy side but trying. It seemed kind of chaotic , staff not always sure what was what. I hope they improve in some areas because I can see customers not choosing to come back, especially in this economy.More

We have been here twice within the last year, and both times the food was good and the service pleasant. The prices are reasonable compared to other Mexican restaurants in Calgary. My only complaint, as another customer had previously mentioned, is that the if you...ask for water, you get a bottle of water for $1.05. I much prefer a glass of iced water especially with spicy food. They serve other blended drinks so it is not as if they don't have ice.More

First visit, grateful for the virgin margaritas offered, the real ones were good too, ordered a second one that never arrived by the time we'd finished our food, it wasn't busy so guess just forgotten. Tortilla chips and quad very good, Mole' dish good, Flautas...unchewable, chicken was very dry and disappointing. Service was very friendly, it's nice they have their tortilla chips and assorted items for purchase at the counter. Will try again and order something different, lots to choose from...More

Our waiter was great, atmosphere was nice! Expect an authentic experience with the food :) Unfortunately, we were not expecting authentic and everything we ordered was too spicy :( Kids taco with beef too. I took jalapeño off my shrimp tacos but sauce is spicy...too :( I can handle mild-medium but this was a bit too much. I found the average price of a meal was a bit higher than I was expecting, average kids meal was $10.More

This was our first visit to the nearest restaurant to where we now live, unfortunately it did not live up to the hype (except in regards to the the food and Margherita). On arrival the patio was nearly full and we chose to eat inside....Once at the table it took nearly 10 minutes before a drink or food menu was presented to us. It did however give us sometime to straighten the wobbly, worn and very tired table. The decor was a little cliché with a couple of piñata hanging from the ceiling and some sombreros thrown randomly on the walls. I was a little shocked when I asked for water to be presented with a couple of plastic bottled waters on the table. No glass, no ice? And $2.10 to the bill. That’s not a bad price for bottled water but cold tap water would have been nice - and like many other restaurant- free. My partner had a margarita 2oz which was a little pricey at $14.25 and I had a Mexican beer again a little pricey at $7.50, oh and don’t expect to be offered a glass to drink the beer from either. In many other restaurants chips and salsa or pico is an automatic addition to the table, if you are ordering entrees. Sadly not here it’s a $10 appie. The chips are served in what looks like a dollar store plastic basket and the dips and pico in disposable plastic specimen cups. For the price, I was shocked, couldn’t they have been served in small porcelain dishes, painted in bright Mexican colours? Perhaps the dishwasher was broken? Whilst waiting for the food it gave me time to look around. The decor, furniture and general appearance is looking very tired and staid. There were a number of light bulbs not working and one which blinked on and off randomly, slowly giving up the will to shine anymore. The windows are quite dirty, which is a shame because it spoiled a perfect view down the canal. What a location this restaurant has, but sadly let’s it down. The food arrived promptly. I was prepared to be disappointed, after all nothing thus far had satiated my appetite. I was immediately surprised to find the beef chimichanga was amazing. The beef so flavourful and complemented by the cheese, which was soft and gooey. It was perfectly cooked. So too was the rice with sweet corn which was served with it, delicious. I wanted to give only a 3 star review based on my restaurant experience, but the food did make up for it. It doesn’t quite deserve the 4 stars but I could give 3.5. The patio seems to be the better place to be. I will come back, but perhaps not until next year when the patio season returns. Let’s hope by then they’ve bought some glassware and nice tableware to serve the food in.More

I came from Strathmore, 1 from Calgary, and the birthday gal lives in Airdrie. We landed at the restaurant about 6:30ish. We waited about 15 mins to get a table. FYI, this place is busy ! We got seated, and ordered some margaritas, and wow,...I must say, mine was a virgin, and you would never have known. Our food took a bit, but as we were visiting, no worries. But, when it did come out OMG, my shrimp chimichuga was among the best I have ever had. Bday girl had the same as I, and was equally impressed. The other chose a burrito, which she could only finish 1/2 as it was huge. Will highly recommend this place. Enjoy!!More

We ordered by phone from Calgary and picked up the order in person. The prawn taco was excellent and well cooked. While the chicken taco was a bit dry on the inside, the condiments made up for the dryness. Excellent nation outside for seating which...we will probably use on our next visit.More

We have tried this place a couple times. You are not able to have more than one kind of taco with your order. I wanted 1-chicken,1-beef,1-pork, but the waiter said they all have to be the same. I ended up getting 3-chicken tacos. They had...no flavour whatsoever. The green salsa is flavourless as well. I'm wondering if the people who gave it so many stars, have ever been to Mexico? The music is WAY TOO LOUD. We will not be back.More

We love Mexican food and have tried restaurants all over. This one can hold its own. For just a second I felt like I could have been in a different country. I enjoyed the enmoladas, and of course, tequila.
