Magical dining experience

One of the highlights of our visit to Gananoque It had a magical evening ambiance, some most scrumptious healthy selections . and extremely pleasant wait staff including the manger /owner. We loved all our pizza selections on Friday night . Medium sized pizza dishes were more than plenty. The cheese cake special (apple and caramel compote) of the day was to die for. Heads up: This place is popular and you cannot not make a reservation. and you will probably get put on a wait list upon arrival at dinner time, but the hostess is very organized and will text you when space becomes available, so you can go for a walk by the river for a half hour rather than simply line up outside. Talented Live entertainment heard on patio on Saturday during the day.

This charming restaurant looks like a fairy tale house in the woods, including stone ovens to cook pizza in the lovely garden, the staff is very kind and friendly. We ordered pizza and salad to share and both were delicious. The purple house salad is definitely a must !!

Good location, very close to the City Cruise line. I love their dessert, pizza is very good too, but not many choices other than pizza. Price is a bit more expensive than I thought. We spent appx. $87 including tips for two small pizza (10 inch), a small dessert (for 1 person), a small salad (for 1 person) and two can pop drink.

Lovely evening on the patio with pizza

The pizza, their specialty was excellent, including the gluten-free option. The wait staff and clientele were convivial, including accommodating a person who came off the street who my spouse and I invited to our table as there were no separate tables available. Such accommodation is often provided in Austria and Germany in casual dining areas.

Cute little place. , we ordered a pizza and salad, we starting to notice 3 tables getting their food before us. We asked the waitress, she said it is due to how busy we are, which had nothing to do with other tables being served before us that came after us. Karen friend came over to ask if we want it free salads we finally said no thank you it's too late. After about a half an hour she decided to just go ahead and bring us a salad anyway and said it was on the house finally after an hour and a half we got a pizza then we paid our bill and unfortunately didn't notice until we got back home that she charged us for the salad after all that.

Thank you for taking the time to review. Though there was a wait the night you visited (and many brand new staff on) I did check the chit for the time and I definitely would have competed the meal had there been an hour and a half wait. We are happy to refund the amount for the salad you were charged for you can email me at thepurplehousecafe@gmail.com. We always want our guests to leave happy which is why I came to chat with you, unfortunately once you have left there is little we can do to remedy as situation. Hopefully we will see you again. Brick oven pizza - yummy

You must definitely need to try the pizza. It is cooked in the brick oven. I still cannot forget the taste. It was a family lunch (3 people). We shared greek salad, and a pizza (three cheese pizza), glass of wine, and a beer. We paid around $90 (including tax and tip). Nice patio, flowers, sun, everything was good. You need to be careful if your kids are afraid of bees (because there are many of them) but none of them were interested in us (there were many flowers around).

Whimsical wildflower garden patio with wood-fire pizza ovens, near the waterfront action. Pretty historical house with indoor dining. Service was great, food portions generous and perfectly prepared. Also gluten free, and cauliflower crusts available.

Spectacular Find

Visiting Gananoque for the first time...We happened to drive by and caught a view of this quaint and lovely outdoor garden, with great patio lighting and plants everywhere. Pleasantly discovered it specialized in wood fired pizza and salads. From the service, the ambiance, the music, fresh herbs...and the incredibly delicious pizza...we were delighted with finding this place. I had the special, steak w/shrimp, garlic aioli, caramelized onion, basil and cheese. Wow, fantastic.

Another great lunch

This is our second trip to Purple House for lunch and didn't disappoint! We had a couple of different pizzas and they were all good. Happy that they provide a vegan cheese for someone in our group who is lactose intolerant so nice they too could enjoy a pizza. A funky little gem in Gananoque with a simple but good menu.

Outdoor Firewood Pizza Heaven

A wonderful outdoor environment- beautiful gardens and ambience. Food was absolutely delicious. We were recommended this restaurant several times by locals. One person told us the salads were amazing.. and I ate a garden salad with delicious maple balsamic vinaigrette and my partner had a tasty Caesar salad. The fire oven pizzas were also highly recommended and so we ordered a butter chicken pizza to split and it didn’t disappoint!! There are no reservations. You can eat in or out. If a beautiful day or night, I strongly suggest to eat outside amongst the organic homegrown veggie garden and the unique “wooden doors” fence!!

What a beautiful surprise and spectacular garden to eat delicious food.

We stumbled on this restaurant and were fortunate enough to get a table in the intimate patio surrounded by a gorgeous garden. We shared a thin crust pizza as we weren’t really hungry and it was perfect with a bottle of wine. Wine was very reasonably priced. The service was great. A special place to spend an evening on this romantic patio. Highly recommend and will return. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Busy but worth the wait! We enjoyed 2 fresh flavourful salads (Caesar, green) and shared a wood-fired margarita pizza - all delicious & fresh. Patio nestled in vegetation manages to be quiet & intimate despite being so close to the ferry dock.

The Purple House in Gananoque is a fantastic spot! The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh and flavorful dishes that are sure to satisfy. The service is top-notch – fast, friendly, and attentive. The staff goes out of their way to make your dining experience enjoyable. Keep in mind, they don't take reservations, so it's a good idea to arrive early to secure a table. Whether you're there for lunch or dinner, The Purple House is a must-visit.

Found this place driving by and exploring Gananoque. There isn’t a big sign announcing its place but we saw people outside enjoying a meal. After some Googling, we decided to try this restaurant after a busy day on a cruise tour. After leaving the cruise, we walked 5 minutes to this gem. Luckily we first that day as it just opened at 4 pm. We chose a nice table outside and ordered the wood fired pizza. I had the pep and mushroom pizza and my wife had the shrimp pizza. Both were excellent. They also offer craft beer and special drinks. The choices of pizzas are varied and difficult to choose as they all looked good. Good reason to return one day to Gananoque. We will return.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was amazing, im not a pizza lover generally, but I ate pizza here and loved it. The crust was amazing. We had the special, which was cheese , bacon, strawberry, and vinegarette drizzle....it was the most delicious thing I ever tasted. The Cesar salad was great, and the cheese cake, topped with strawberries and rhubarb drizzle, was to die for!!! Go try this place out, you too will love it .
