Btwn lunch and dinner. Food ordered was sweet potato fries, single order of fish & chips, fish tacos. Two pints to go with cort $75.for two adults. Food was expensive, place was cold, dark a d dreary. Female was working alone, taking orders and appearing...to be cooking as well. Would not recommend. We were still hungry,.even after eating. Fish tacos looked ike a child portion. Honestly I am wondering how they will survive now that the tourist have gone.More

We recently stayed at the B&B upstairs and decided to go to the pub instead of looking for a place to eat. Their beer on tap is very extensive for a small pub and offers something for most tastes. The food is very good and...the staff very help and friendly. If you are in town you should definitely check them out as I don't think you will be disappointed. A couple of notes, menu is on your phone or they will bring you a tablet to use. They don't take reservations but you can normally find a spot in the pub or upstairs on the heated veranda which has nice views.More

Short and sweet. Staff was busy but friendly. Food was marginal and not worth the price. My wife enjoyed her wrap but my burger was tasteless. We ordered the wings to start and I don't think I've ever had smaller wings which were barely cooked...and tasteless sauce. Definitely do not order the wings!More

Dropped in for a couple of drinks before seeing a show at the Playhouse - looks like a nice place and the food looked good but wow, talk about an unwelcome welcome - thought I must have trod in dog s##t. Not a smile in...sight and slow service - I’m a pretty patient person but I strongly considered walking out. First and last visit for us.More

We just stayed at the Gananoque Inn next door (which I do NOT recommend), and we went over to the Stonewater pub for dinner and drinks. We had an absolute blast! Sue was amazing and the food was phenomenal. There was live entertainment which was...awesome. Overall, great place. We’ll be returning!More

Location of this restaurant is near the waterfront which is nice. When we were seated at our table, we noticed that the table was very sticky. It took a very long time for our waitress to come and take our drink order. The food was...very pricey for what you got. If you order wings or the fish tacos, the fries or any other side is an additional charge. Wings were very small but tasted ok. The white wine sangria tasted water down and really did have much flavour. The chicken on the Summer Salad was very dry and tasted awful. It also took forever to get our bills which were not correct either. Not worth the price.More

We had to search and find a staff member to clear our table (seat yourself) after 15 minutes of no attention. I ended up wiping the table myself so that it was actually clean. Rustic patio and view was nice, Staffdi nice enough, but the...service was SOOOO slow. Had to ask for water. This was late afternoon on a sunny Saturday where there seemed to be lots of staff milling around but not actually working. Food and pricing okay. Sadly my experience was not one that would have me ever going back.More

Overpriced. I think that one word sums up our experience. When we arrived at 5:30pm we found the place almost empty. (Perhaps we should have taken this as a sign) we ordered, after realizing there were no kids options. We paid 15.99 and 21.99 for...our kids meals, and decided on the nachos to share between us parents to make the whole thing affordable. The chips were stale, and the nachos were overall just off. It didn’t help that they were 21.99 plus 1.99 to add jalapeños (aren’t these part of every nacho plate?) and 6.99 to add pulled pork. $170 for a family of four is too much to pay, especially when the venu is sub par. Nuff said.More

We stopped by for lunch when we were in the area. The food was standard pub fare. We had the Korean cauliflower, shrimp and wings to start. My husband had the PO Boy sandwich and I had the fish and chips. Upstairs is nice you...can see the water from there. Service was good, you have a couple of people looking after you. The one downside is that the menu is online. When I am out for lunch I do not like to use my phone. I also wonder how much a pub saves by not using real menus. Also, online you don't know what is sold out. Overall is was fine but I am not sure we would go back.More

Running from Rochester New York to Kingston Ontario for a college created five hungry travelers. We stopped in for a late lunch, and we all were pleasantly surprised. Freshly cooked meals with fresh ingredients, plus a pint of the Stonewater's home made our quick stop...plus walk along the waterfront very much worth our while. I do not expect to be this way anytime soon, but if you are, plan on stopping by.More

I revisited Gananoque in mid September 2022 while on vacation. The last time I was here was over 50 years! I'm glad I stopped for a couple of hours although the peak season was over and the few local attractions were closed. What was not...closed were a few great dining establishments including the Stonewater. This is a great place! IT appears to have been a very old home that was transformed into a English style pub. There are two dining rooms, one on each floor. I sat upstairs for the view of the St.Lawrence River. Both dining rooms were rustic style and very clean. (Sticky floors and table according to another review?? Hardly! They must have been somewhere else.) I was there in the early afternoon so it was not busy and there was one server. Although some may consider the service a little slow, I'm into slow dining so my 90 minutes there did not bother me. Yes, it took about 40min for my lunch to arrive but again, I didn't care. I was on vacation. The food was fantastic! I tried the fish and substituted a chef side salad for the fries. WOW! The ingredients were really fresh! The offering was more cuisine than it was pub fare. The coating on the fish was just slightly crispy, the way I like it. It was a little expensive (my check was $21 after tax, no beverages) however the high quality of the fish and salad more than made up for it. I don't like to spend this kind of money for lunch, however, it was such a great experience, I'd do it again on my next visit to Gananoque.More

Great location - great atmosphere - great food and great staff! Others obviously agreed based on the number of individuals that were lined up waiting for available seating! This will definitely be our #1 choice when we return to Gananoque.
