the view is worth it because you look at the view of Perce, rock. I went off-season so it was very quiet. The food is good but portions are small. They have tables outside. I would return for the view but not the food

Last minute stop early afternoon. Best lobster roll my wife ever had. And the Halibut was easily the Very best I have Ever had. Great view of Perce Rock from our indoor patio table. Our server was terrific. Prices for all were very fair. Hope...to be back someday.More

Way too frantic. Tourist trap. Although we made a reservation ahead, groups besides us had no problem getting a good table. We got the little table near the bar with all the bustle of waiters picking up their drinks. But the worst certainly goes to...the table under the stairs. Does not make for a favourable impression. We had great expectations that we could get a seafood platter of crab, lobster, scallops and the like, but that is not on that seafood restaurant menu… So we ordered 2 lobsters of 1 1/2 lbs. it came with enough French fries to feed a family of four. They looked like something you get at McDonald…and they were cold at that. As for the lobsters, they needed some wrestling. The kitchen could have certainly made the work a little easier by breaking up the claws and body. (We are Gaspesiens, therefore experienced lobsters eaters). All this for a whopping $70 per lobster. Service was barely there.More

Great location with excellent meals. We had seafood casserole and it was excellent! Also had fresh oysters which were very tasty. Will not be disappointed!

This was our second visit to this restaurant while in Perce. It had come highly recommended. Our server Cyrille did a great job - very low key and efficient. My wife enjoyed the local oysters and I found the fish special very good. On our...first visit the restaurant was very busy and quite noisy but our second visit on a Sunday night was calmer and we had a table with a great view of the water. Well worth a visit but not a cheap dinner!More

Great food, awful service from Samuel. She kept giving us excuses on why she kept screwing up out orders, never accepting the blame.

This is a very busy restaurant. Good idea to make a reservation. Food was excellent but wished there could have been more vegetables on the dinner entree. Good service.

Upon arrival, the hostess who greeted us was in a word, miserable and expressed explicit disappointment in our family for arriving an entire 10 minutes late for our early supper reservation. I felt like I was being scolded by my grandmother. Not what I would...expect from a town that depends so much on its tourism. The food was excellent and our server was very friendly. She even helped identify local products that were used and where we could find them (Fumoir du Paternale - amazing cold smoked salmon)More

An expensive restaurant that is worth the price. From the moment you enter the restaurant and smell the cooking seafood you can sense that the food is going to be fantastic. Our waitress, Pearl, suggested to us our dining experience that was an exploration in...new variety of tastes for the sea. I highly recommend the fried Cod tongues and well as the whiskey Scallops. Topped off with a caramel brulé and an espresso martini made a nice flavor filled mix to perfectly end an amazing meal.More

We were so looking forward to our meal here on October 4, 2022, on our first visit to Percé. What a huge disappointment, because of the unfriendly, unhelpful and uninterested service. First, although we had reserved weeks in advance, we were seated not by the...windows but in a very busy area besides the foot of the stairs and beside the bus station. Nonetheless, we decided not to worry or complain about the seating and were determined to enjoy our evening. However, then we waited - and waited - for someone to at least acknowledge us and perhaps bring some water. When our male server finally came with water, I spoke in French. Although I am an Anglophile from Manitoba and my French is basic, I had been speaking in French with success in many hotels, restaurants and stores in Quebec City and along our long route in Charlevoix and the Gaspé Peninsula. People had been friendly and pleased that I spoke in French. Our server seemed disgusted that, when he asked if it was our “first time here” I had thought he meant our first time in Percé when he had meant at the restaurant. He made no effort to follow-up on that question and did not offer any information about the food or the restaurant. After he brought our beverages, there was another very long wait before he returned to take our order. He did not tell us the soup of the day or ask if we had any questions about the menu but just said, “Do you know what you want to eat?” The issue was not our comprehension or his linguistic ability. I would have been able to understand him in French and we heard him chatting with another table of people in quite good English. I had the Gaspé clam and seafood chowder and some of the seafood in it was cold but he did not come to the table so I have no opportunity to get it warmed. I noticed that other tables were getting little baskets of bread but our server did not bring one and did not offer any to us. Our entrées were fine and hot, but again, our server did not come to ask if the food was good. Perhaps he did not think we were worth his while as we had not ordered a bottle of wine and I had only had one glass of wine. I would have had more wine as my glass was empty by the time our entrée arrived, but he did not ask if I would like a refill. However, he charged us for two glasses of wine on our bill even though I had only had one. We basically felt ignored by our server for long periods during most of our dinner. I was watching the other pleasant female servers working at tables near us. They were prompt at attending to new arrivals, were smiling and friendly, and offered much information both in English and in French. I saw one server bring a beautiful-looking dessert that looked like a homemade tarte aux pommes to another table. However, when it came time for our dessert, our server did not mention anything about the pie or any other dessert but simply brought us the menu. I was a server at several restaurants during my university days and always make a point of being very appreciative and friendly with servers. There was no point with him. I found myself wishing so much that we had had one of the other servers, as it would have made our evening so much more enjoyable and our memories of Percé and of Maison du Pecheur so much better.More

We visited here while visiting Perce in June 2022. I had read reviews on TA and decided to make a reservation. We were seated almost immediately upon arrival--and it was busy on a beautiful June evening. Our server arrived quickly, put in our orders for...wine and beer and was quick to ask if we needed another as soon as it looked like we were finished. Our food order was taken quickly--I had the lobster and my husband had fish. Our food was perfectly prepared and my husband's dessert was wonderful and I had a well made cup of coffee to top off my meal. We were seated in an enclosed porch in the back with lovely views of the beautiful late spring evening. No one could stop us from visiting this place again if we ever have the luck to visit Perce another time.More

But that would be the biggest lie since Trump claimed he won. We had the foresight to make a reservation. This place is busy. We were seated straight away. Our server appeared in less than a minute. We both had the Gaspe soup, it was...excellent. One of us had a steak and the other salmon. Both were excellently cooked. Now comes the chocolate cake, it should be avoided if you are watching the calories. Otherwise, dig in. It melts in your mouth. It is a good job that we are leaving in the morning otherwise we would spoil ourselves again.More

People said it's touristy... maybe ... but also excellent! We liked it enough to go twice! Reservations a must. You might even wait with a reservation. Food and service were very good and prices were also very acceptable especially for the quality of food and...drink. There are plenty of choices for non fish eaters as well. Even a pizza oven!More

Knowing how busy the local restaurants are, we went to La Maison in person in the early afternoon in order a pizza to take out at 6 pm. We were told that they could not take our order in advance and we were advised to...call at 5 pm. When we called we were told they don't take phone orders. We went again to the restaurant and ordered the pizza, told it would be 20 minutes. An hour later they said they had not started our order as they only do take outs after all the dine in guests have been served, but it should be ready in 30 minutes. Finally an hour later it was ready. After all that, it was pretty disappointing. Don't waste your time here.More
